Total ripoff! If I could only give negative stars! Pepper beef that was tasteless and more gristle than beef. Cold rice (how do you even do that). Tasteless veggie soup. Tasteless veggie rolls cooked in very old oil. All this for $48!!! (Without drinks) hands down both the worst "Thai" food and the worst food truck experience I've ever had. Avoid like the plague. read more

Wow very polarizing reviews here. We chanced upon this place on the way back from the Kalalau Trail hike to our Poipu hotel at about 6pm on Thursday. We were the last customers since the lady literally closed up shop as soon as we finished eating by 6:30pm. I only got a Thai moco here, and got more stuff from the other Thai truck just in the next lot, so I suppose it is difficult to judge the entire menu based on one dish. However, I'll say it was probably the best (though not perfect) moco I had during this trip. The burger patties were crisp on the edges and had great umami, almost like a fried chicken which was unexpected. The rice was a lot, maybe too much, but cooked right. The eggs were a bit undercooked, whites still slightly raw, but I actually don't mind raw eggs (psh salmonella) so I didn't say anything. The gravy was good but a bit too chunky and thick, like too much corn starch or something. Service was ok. Had to order from the window right next to a swarm of flies as the trash can was nearby. Lots of open seating, but also lots of flies trying to beat me to my food. Menu very very extensive, not just Thai food, but also a lot of Asian classics. Overall, don't regret trying this as it satisfied my loco moco craving, but I probably wouldn't drive 45min out of my way to get it. read more

Came on a recommendation from a local. We were hopeful that this would be good, but were disappointed on many levels: quality of food, cleanliness (or lack thereof), and crummy customer service, and the serving materials. We ordered seven items. Most of it tasted decent enough, but was turned off by hair in the food and excessive fat on the beef skewer (or whatever it's called). The tables were sticky and flies were everywhere. The owner acted as if she couldn't be bothered to have customers. Would've give the five paper plates I requested (only gave three), didn't give us a few extra utensils even though we asked multiple times, and blatantly ignored us when she could clearly see we were awaiting these items. Our curry was served in a movie theater XL soda cup. Seriously. I understand these items on a certain level, but for what she's charging, there's no excuse. Disappointed and won't be back. I recommend trying somewhere different. read more

As of April 2021, this is parked near the Kapaa Swimming Pool. This place was surprisingly good. The coconut seafood curry was SO good. It was a perfect amount of sweet with a slight seafood taste. The desert rice was so good. The Chinese rice and pork in leaves was savory. The thai tea was creamy and refreshing. Everything I tasted has great flavor with good balance. The only issue I found was the service. The first time I went, the "open" sign was lit, but the person ignored me. I am glad I gave them a second chance, but I was annoyed with the rudeness on the first attempt. I just wish they had turned off the sign or communicated with me. read more

I'm struggling to find the words to describe this experience and food. The pineapple curry is incredible. Full of flavor. It seems like a random array of vegetables she threw together. The potion is huge. Enough that we will make multiple meals out of it, which is unusual for food trucks. If I lived nearby, I'd eat here all of the time because it's a steal. Expect to wait for service and for your food. The owner makes every order to serve, including fresh smoothies. You can hear her working her tail off in the back. She's gruff and short but also really cares about people enjoying her food. Also expect that some items might not be available and she won't help much to replace them. Some customers were impatient or frustrated with her. I think it's just something to accept as a part of the experience. Will come back here when we return to Kauai. I hope she's still doing her thing. read more

I love Thai! Sorry, but I'm going to say I was not happy. No, No, No. I should of figured it, just looking at the food truck, and the dated photo's & menu outside. The previous yelp reviewers, fooled me! Shame on them. The lady barely spoke english (which isn't terrible), but I figured it would be real authentic tasty food. I haven't been burned (no pun intended) on any food trucks during my trip. Cash only , no problem. So I ordered the teriyaki chicken, with papaya salad & sticky rice. The chicken was fine, still compared to the meats I had during my trip, it was one of my least favorites. The salad, was VERY spicy! Why would they make a VERY spicy salad? My wife had one bite then told me she shouldn't eat it anymore. Did I tell you the salad wasn't even tasty? I was super hungry, so I wanted to finish it but it was so spicy (and I love spicy ) and it was barely edible. I could not stomach it, I ate maybe half of it. I found the salad from hell! At this point my mouth was on fire, & thought the sticky rice would cool my flames and fill up my stomach hunger. Didn't care for it, not sure if I don't like sticky rice or if it was prepared poorly. It was stale/hard. I dropped $18 on this dish, and not pleased. I really should of returned it and demanded something else. Did I get the worse dish on the menu? read more

Decent Thai food for Kauai, and probably the spiciest food on the island. The Pad Kee Mao was huge and easily enough for 2. And it was actually spicy - which almost nothing is on Kauai. Egg rolls were good too. Nice place for quick, filling lunch or to pick up some dinner. read more

So I saw they have spring rolls. I got an order of the veggie and an order of the pork and veggie. First off- the price was $9 for 5 little rolls- maybe 3 inches long- super small. When I looked at it- I saw a cockroach... fried in the wrapper part. I called the lady and let her know what I found- and she asked me if it was in the veggie or the other one because if it was in the veggie one "that's how". I said what?! No that's not! I told her- I just called to tell you I found a roach! She said oh ok. No apology... no offer to refund... just ok. First and last time for me- for sure!!!! read more

On the positive note, the smoothy was amazing. It tasted fresh. What was super disappointing was the customer service. There was one person taking orders and cooking. She was incredibly rude to all the customers there. All of us were joking about being scared to go to the window for the fear of being barked at. I asked if I could use a credit card and she literally tossed her phone at me. After 15 minutes I asked how much longer and she said another 15 to 20 minutes. I was in a rush and asked for a refund and she yelled at me from the truck how it would be anywhere from 6 to 15 more minutes. I ordered a soup and it was for my kid and it was scalding hot. We had to wait an hour for it to cool. My kids said it was just ok and left half of it. I also ordered fresh spring rolls and got the deep fried ones - so not what I ordered. read more

First, a warning: chicken friggin' apocalypse, yo. Be advised that, should you choose to clap along with Happy Snacks, to-go is the way to go. The chickens in this food truck court were bar none the most aggressive I encountered on the island. Sitting at a picnic table, the birds jumped up and attempted to eat off my plate, they walked across my flip flopped feet, and they made a clucking ruckus. Do not feed the chickens, people. These fearless feathered freaks are monsters of our own creation. Okay, as for Happy Snacks. 1) Anything but snacks. One plate can and did feed two people. If I lived on Kauai I would order one dinner for two from this place every week. 2) Average Thai with curious awesome additions. Our Pad Thai (hey, the reviews raved) was rather flat and the green beans, carrots and other unexpected delights made it interesting and more nutritious. The summer rolls (rice paper) were the most gigantic I've ever devoured and the dipping sauce was quite lovely. 3) The woman running the place will decide when and if she wants to answer the tourist at the window, and she may take quite a while cooking up the dish, but have no fear, you'll both go home full. read more

Horrible condition. I ordered coconut water. The owner told it is from fresh coconut. I highly suspect that is a lie. I asked her to give me the whole coconut to me after opening it. She refused and only gave me a cup of coconut water. The juice tasted totally gross and has garlic taste read more

This place should not have passed its inspection. Horrible conditions in the food truck. There were very large pieces of sediment in our lemonades, and they tasted very strongly of garlic. The proprietor also gave me a lid for my curry which not only didn't fit, but was disgustingly dirty. On the top AND the bottom. Really, I've never seen anything like it. Due to the conditions of the food truck, I threw away my entire $50 order. Both lemonades, the curry, and the rice. It was a truly disgusting and angering experience. read more

So this was my first visit to Kauai, sadly I was let down by the food, but not by Happy Snacks! I love love loved the coconut sticky rice with mango, and the coconut black sticky rice! Especially since it was reasonably priced at $6 a plate. I will definitely be stopping by this gem again and only wish that it was open a bit longer so that I could grab a sticky rice at the end of every day! You can taste the freshness and it's just oh so good. I'm still here for another four days so you can bet I'll be stopping by again to try some more of what this treasure has to offer! YUMM!! As you can see from the pics, I sort of ate most of the rice before I had a chance to snap a pic lol I'll be retaking pics later when I go back! I definitely will be going back. read more

Owner ignored me for about 6 minutes as I stood over the trash cans that sit right at her window until I stuck my head in and got her attention. She then charged me $18.50 for 2 overcooked sticky rice pork dumplings that were by and large flavorless. the pork itself was good, the rice hard and regrettable. zero customer service. I was the only person there and she was the only truck open on a Sunday. Wish I could go back in time and spend my money and meal elsewhere. read more

My family and I were are visiting Kauai and needed a place that had several options for everyone. We decided on food truck and I am so glad I chose this one! BOMB DIGGITY. Everything. Had the fried chicken, drunken noodles, coconut/mango/passion fruit smoothie and sticky rice and mango dessert. DEFINITELY order the mango sticky rice and drunken noodles. We ate here for lunch today and I'm extremely disappointed in the quality of food. We ordered the coconut shrimp, pad thai, sweet and spicy crispy chicken and an order of deep fried spring rolls. My first bite was of the chicken which tasted like fish. Yes fish. Terrible. Also the rice that came with all of our plates was not stickybit was hard and crusty. I took one bite of the shrimp and it was mushy and still had a huge vein full of poop in it. I lost my appetite after this. Cracked open the pad thai praying this was my saving grace, only to discover a bunch of hard noodles, old egg and chicken that was burnt, and frozen veggies mixed in like broccoli, carrots, zucchini that were soggy and mushy, and cabbage? And no sauce. I've lived on Kaua'i now for two years and this is the worst place I've eaten. 60.00 worth of food in the garbage. I do not recommend this place. Also the thai ice tea was crappy, no ice and full of chunks. Couldn't tell you what it was. read more

Don't be deterred by the worn, laminated photos and menu on the wall of the food truck. This local, organic food is legit. Vegetarian and vegan options. The Vegetable curry was one of the best I've had. The stirfried garlic chili bamboo fish (fresh sea bass today) was light yet rich and delicious. Everything is served in compostable containers (thanks @WorldCentric ) not foam. You won't be disappointed! read more

Best shrimp Pad Thai and the Lemongrass Coconut Shrimp soup is amazing also. I am a fan of Thai food, have been to many Thai restaurants in the mainland and this food truck is so much better than the Pad Thai I have had in the past. Only accepts cash at this time. Love this place! read more

BARF!!!! Happy snacks haha how about crappy snacks! This place was AWFUL!!!!! I had the spring rolls which I ate half of one because they were sooooo nasty!! The only way I ate that half was because I drenched it in peanut sauce and hot sauce. Coconut sticky rice with mango....one of the best things I've ever eaten, amazing, keep doing what you're doing!!!!

Hmmm...maybe I ordered the wrong thing? We had the drunken noodle with fresh fish upon recommendation from a fellow customer eating at the table next to us. It was EXTREMELY salty and missing the classic flavors you'd expect in drunken noodles. It was almost inedible for my taste buds but I was just super hungry and powered through eating half of it. The reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because the portion was generous and they added a lot of veggies. Save yourself the hypertension and order something other than the drunken noodles. read more

First I wanna say this is THAI FOOD. Yelp and the trucks name dont really make that too clear. But WOW. I can't believe this food came out of that little truck. The signage and pictures don't do the food justice at all. My husband and I eat a lot of Thai food and this was soooo good. We got the drunken noodles with shrimp, massamun curry with fish, and the chicken lettuce wraps. If you have a Thai food craving, please give this lady your money honey!!! read more

I adore her and her ono grinds. She does everything so be kind and patient. Haven't tried everything but her chili garlic squid-amazing, seafood fried rice is addictive (all shrimp and a lot of it), pad see ew is a huge potion and fantastic. Been told her soup is great (and yes it's hot-it's soup). Feel like I'm protecting Auntie. Other reviews complain the soup is too hot and the food is too spicy- blah blah blah.
