Didn't enjoy my last pedicure there. Place was extremely quiet, crowded and fox business was on the tv. Not the fun place I was used to.

It was only; after questioning him that he seemed almost out of no where immediately perturbed, as if I was an irrational Patron; when I was very calm ... I was taken by surprise ! The Mgr. came back, to explain to me that the $15 extra charge was because of my nails shaped- coffin! Looking at my nails contour and width - they are more squared. I don't know... Andy was both welcoming and nice!! But not as happy; besides being too easy to become unglued, during my first time visit. I kind of felt that there was a Quick change to escalate charges on or by whatever ridiculous means they may come up with!! (I did read a review under this location... with the exact problem with Coffin Shapes and improper placement of nail extensions! Also another Reviewer made mentioning of being caught by surprise with unexpected changes to charges... after services rendered). Just be aware! We are the Consumers, and we must post reviews, good bad or indifferent! It's our hard earned monies that keeps the doors opened, and demand that we get good service, where we patronize! It's just that simple!! The two that I dealt with, all of a sudden their voices became quite muzzled and low, as things began to unfolding. Inaudible words, that could not be easily understood or interpreted in English, as they were purposefully setting the stage to escalate the price! I just could feel it. Even if you asked them to repeat it... It's is intended to cause confused communication; so you may seem as if you're the person; that doesn't wish to pay for rendered services. I thought what the heck is happening here? My answer was, okay because these ARE NOT Coffin Shaped etc... Okay. Even though, I'm thinking- they look like basic shapes!! Yada yada yada!! Okay... here's your money.. Because, lesson learned! I paid the amount without argument, with a 15% gratuity anyway!! Because this establishment will not be operating for long; if they are playing games here and there with their pricing!! So in case it becomes your turn to get taken... Please listen to them carefully when they start running their words together in low hard to differentiate voices! (It was both a male and his female accomplice- who he went to get, after I asked what happened to the $40 price for full set of acrylic nails? As the other option was an added $15 if I wanted gel?? But I got the acrylic- full set. The point is this: I was quoted $40 for acrylic full set during making my appointment. After arriving charged me for $15 more because nails were shaped by scissors clipping into a scare tip; but I'm told it's "Coffin". READING OTHER REVIEWS, I found similarities in the same complaints as mine: Problems escalating fees, Coffin Shaped Nails, Attitude and Crooked Nail Extensions... are just a few that caught my attention! I am relatively new to the world of getting my nails done~I'd say just over the past year or so. I have been to many salons and different practitioners. Jerry at Happy Nails has been and is my favorite. Not just because she does amazing work (the pictures of my nails will speak for her quality) but also because she is a genuine and sweet spirit to chat with and talk about many different things. I feel quite comfortable with her skill set - so much so that I usually will give her a color or an idea and then she comes up with the rest. All the work she has done has been by her own hand. Went there with my daughter. My daughter did gel manicure and I just wanna do classic mani, The lady yelled at me next time you come here you have to do gel!! But ...I personally don't like gel. After finished my nails... I asked her if I can just sit beside my daughter while I am waiting the nails dry out? The lady yelled me so lout NO!!!! That why I told you you have to do gel so can dry out quickly and you can go!!! You need to sit here 30 minutes!!!! ... so terrified. read more

I decided to give this new nail spa a try, and must say with all honesty, I will never be back. The aesthetic of the interior is very nice. It's clean, pleasing to look at, has adequate lighting, and the typical television to watch while you're being serviced. On this trip, I decided to go for a mani-pedi (acrylic manicure, and pedicure) My acrylic nails were done by a gentleman whose name I cannot recall. He was nice enough, but that's where my compliments end. First off, he speaks and understands English well enough to understand when I asked him about the colors he had for my nails. I did not want gel, but the color I choose was, unbeknownst to me, a gel color. So I asked him if he has the same color, just as a regular polish (not gel.) He proceeds to grab a sparkly dark pink polish (not even close to the light rosy color I chose) as if that was the only option he had. Turns out he DID have the same color in regular polish, but of course, didn't offer me that. So at that point, I felt he was purposefully trying to upsell the gel option and being dishonest on purpose about the colors he had to offer. That was the first strike. Secondly, and most importantly, he did the most horrible acrylic manicure I have ever experienced in my life! I mean this sincerely. It was so poorly done and so blatantly sloppy, I almost started to think he was doing this poorly on purpose. When you look at the photos, you'll see what I'm talking about. They do not thoroughly care for the nails. For example, they did not push back my cuticles, or cut along the cuticles, and barely buffed out my nail bed. They also do no extras, such as a hand massage, cream for your hands, nothing. They don't do a thorough job like all the other nail salons I've been to in the past. When he began painting my nails, I noticed the middle finger acrylic nail was not placed straight, so it look like it was leaning to one side. At to top it all off, as you'll see from the photos, he began to paint my nails and goop the polish on in three coats. Not one during this did he seem to think there was anything wrong with his technique. I honestly cannot believe that anyone could look at my nails and think that was done professionally. He put no effort and care into my manicure, and it really irritated me that I was paying $40 for something I could've done myself at home (which I did, and you can see the acrylic manicure I did MYSELF at home less than a day later) The lady who did my pedicure was very nice, but again, She barely did anything to my feet. No buffing, no scrubbing, no cuticle pushing, no cutting of the snags, nothing. My feet were soaked in a foot bath, toenails clipped, and polished. They do put a hot towel on your legs, but that was the most extra thing they'd done the entire time I was there. Now let's cycle back to the horrendous manicure. The result was so ugly, I took off the polish within 45 minutes of me getting home, and went to another nail salon (Top Nails) to have them remove the acrylics less than a day later. It was embarrassing to be seen with those nails. The nail tech who removed them commented on how bad it looked, and even motioned for a female nail tech to come over to the table to gawk at how bad they were. He said he felt bad for me, lol. By the way, if you're looking for a reliable nail salon where they take pride in their work and actually do a great job, visit Top Nails. The nail tech who serviced me was so kind and and actually educated me on nail care while he removed my acrylics. I ended up tipping him just for his attitude alone. He even did a test job on one of my nails to show me how they do their acrylic manicures. Polish and all! So in short, I will never visit this nail salon again and would not recommend them for anything. Why take a chance on an expensive service when there are other reliable salons in the area? read more

09/24/2021 Friday booked an appointment online, got the appointment CONFIRMED right, I'm here at 10am on time, fill out the paper bald guy says do you have appointment I said yes, he tells me to sit okay cool. Place is clean neat from what my eyes can see. About 3 min later two women walk in he tells them to sit , another employee walks in and takes them first, I bring it to the bald guy attention her says your appointment is not confirmed, I show him that it is he says its not so below posted is showing my appointment is confirmed.... I just left one thing I C will not do is be disrespected and you take two women that came in after me and I had an appointment as well no , I will not beg anyone for shit! Especially when your reviews aren't all that to begin with. I honestly think it could be my skin color was not the same color as everyone else's there. My pedi looks perfect every time. It's very clean and the music is relaxing. If I could get them to serve mimosa that would be bonus!

I made an appointment and asked the technician what availability she had. She told me the time and I agreed. I pull up she had someone in the chair. I wash my hands before choosing a color. It takes me about 10mins to choose a color and I sit down to wait me turn at this point I look up because my appointment was at 6:00 it is now 6:20 and it appears as if the client has just sat down and my appointment is no longer her priority. I inquire on how long will it take and she tried to pass me along to another tech. That is a no no ma'am. I feel like when I woman of color makes an appointment or show up to the nail salon they assume our money is different. And Polly Purebread will always come before me. I will continue to drive to Germantown to get service. I moved to Hagerstown 2 years ago and I'm noticing the difference in service. Think twice before going or sitting in Ana's chair. Can't beat the price and friendly staff!! Always my first choice anytime I need my nails done

After trying a few nail salons in the area, I'm SOOO happy to have found this one. I'm always hesitant to try somewhere new. Made an appt for 2 pedicures. Waited about 5-10 minutes. (Which i dont mind cause i need time to pick my color) then was sat in the pedicure chairs. The massagers were awesome!! We got Tang and Lisa as our pedicurists and they were AWESOME. They spent over an hour on our feet. Massaging, cleaning, digging under the nails good. Omgggg amazing. Can't wait to be back in a few weeks. read more

I love Happy Nails Spa! All of the nail technicians are wonderful! They care about finding the color that you need even if they mix/apply two colors to get your color just right! This is the only nail salon I use and I'm a regular customer. Make sure you call for an appointment because they are in demand. Enjoy your visit! read more

Two of the nail techs here moved from a different salon to help open this new nail spa. They were the two I always requested, so when they moved, I moved with them! I've now had my nails done by all four techs at the salon, and am happy to say that they each did a great job. The prices are on par with every other place I've been. The wait took forever, had to wait about 45mins before they even started my nails. The coat they did on my nails were spotty and the polish around the cuticles were rough. My ring finger shape was completely different then my other finger. Didn't even make sure the fingers on both hands were the same length. Super expensive too , $40 just for a fill-in. read more

We made an appointment for 3 pedicures and manicures for the first availability on Sunday and received a confirmation that the appointment was accepted and set. The owner didn't arrive to open the salon until 15 minutes past opening and then assured me when I asked if they had enough staff to assist us, that we would all be taken right away. We were put into pedicure chairs right away, with cold water, but only 1 technician was available because they took someone else in front of us instead, since they had requested the most expensive pedicure option. My pedicure was rushed as was the manicure and one of the people with me didn't even end up getting a pedicure at all. I will absolutely not make an appointment here again as it was completely useless to do so and the service was rushed and made us seem like an inconvenience for being there. We received no apology for the tardiness of the salon opening, the waiting time, or that they couldn't accommodate the appointment that they confirmed. read more
