I received the worst treatment at this nail salon, I have been a regular customer for some time, but the last time I was there, it is no excuse the nail tech apologize to me for not perform three of the services that was on my treatment plan the manager who pretty much accuse me of trying to want a free service. The technician knew he did not perform the service, but it is not acceptable for a manager to treat a client the way that he treated me even after looking at his video he did see that I did not receive some of the services, but there was no apology. He asked me to leave. I will never return to that shop. There are too many establishments that would like my business. Please go and learn some customer service skills. read more

I had a very upsetting experience at Top Nails. The owner is extremely rude. When I complained about how aggressively the technician used the nail file, my natural nails were damaged so badly that I struggled for almost three months. My nails kept breaking and it was painful. When I politely mentioned the issue, instead of listening, the owner talked nonstop, became rude, and when I said, "You're being rude," he even threatened to sue me and told me to leave the salon. I left heartbroken and went back to my original place -- Cindy's Nails. They are professional, kind, and make me feel at home. I should have never left them. Later, when I wrote an unsatisfactory review here, they very politely offered free services. But when I went back, their behavior was even worse. I've gone to this nail salon a couple of times ( only when my nail girl is out of town ) but both times i've gone i've had HORRIBLE experiences. My first time my nails came out crooked and im not sure what they did but they hurt so bad i had to take them off. My second time i went for a pedi and they cut my nails too far and my toes were in so much pain. I've address the carelessness of their nail techs to the owner and he shunned me away, i don't reccomend going here if you are a person of color bc they are very racist as well. I went there for fill in, and spent about 2hours from the time they started working on my nails till the end. At the end, the service requested was not good. They messed up my cuticles, and I kept telling them not to touch my cuticles. They don't sterilize their material unless you request it. Sometimes even upon request they won't do it. They charged me $48 for fill in for short length instead of $36 as per the listed price. Most of the staffs are nasty. You can easily get infected from that saloon. read more

I've gone to this nail shop many times since living in Hagerstown, and unfortunately after a bad experience, I'm now changing my positive review. I went on vacation to Cancun back in January, and went to Top Nails to have a full acrylic french done a day prior. Three days into my vacation, one of my nails popped off. I didn't even realize it until I was on my way to dinner with a friend. A day later, two other nails on my hand popped off. As a result, I had to catch a bus in Mexico to go to the nearest mall and have the entire set redone. I didn't want to risk anymore of them popping off, and spent $75 having the rest removed and getting a full set. If you've ever been to Mexico, their manicurists can be VERY slow. I was extremely annoyed having to sit in a salon for 2 hours in a foreign country, spending more than what I paid before I left to have my nails redone. I lost my phone during the vacation, so I decided to have my friend take a photo of my hands and send them to the lady who works the front desk to report what happened. She assured me that once I returned, there shouldn't be a problem with them redoing my full acrylic set free of charge. Less than 5 minutes later, she calls me back to say the manager would only offer a 50% discount. So I spent over $65 getting my nails done for a 10 day vacation, your manicurist did a poor job, and you're unwilling to redo it after I went through the trouble of calling you about? And after it was confirmed that you would honor this? I then asked for the manager. He stated that because I can't come in within their 7 day period to redo, they'd only offer half off. I explained to him multiple times that I'm ON VACATION FOR 10 DAYS, which made no difference to him. Would you like me to fly back home to have my nails redone? To top it off, when I actually came into the salon after returning home, the Woman who works the front desk actually said to me that my nails were not done well, and asked who did them. I confirmed it was a man who did them. Come to find out, he was no longer working there when I returned, stopped showing up for work and was essentially fired. Shocker. If it's worth losing a customer over $65, so be it. I will not be returning to this shop and have since gone elsewhere since they do not value me as a returning customer. read more

Let's make a long story short, would I recommend this place absolutely NOT, my nails started chipping 1 day later yes 24 hours later gel... I've been going to this nail salon for at least a year and a half every time I go there there's always something wrong with my nails that they've done wrong. I asked one of the technicians do they have to have certifications or any kind of schooling and she told me no the only person I have to have one is the owner, I have been there for the last time I had to go back three times to get my nails fixed because they were wrong now I'm over it and I will never go there again. I just have one question... how do you not notice a gigantic glob of bright blue nail polish on my finger? My best friend and I had a horrible experience here today. Her nails are the coral pink ones, in which she got cut multiple times and some parts were even bleeding. My nails are the blue, with acrylic and nail polish splattered all over my fingers. I had to ask my lady multiple times to put more acrylic on my nails for it looked worse than when I came in for the fill. On top of that, she didn't brush off the bits and pieces of white nail polish I had on before. So, under the new layer of acrylic are a million white speckles. Will not be here again. read more

I suppose this place caters more to the nail acrylic ladies than the average pedi. customer--Since most the rave reviews come from them. This place, in my opinion, is not clean - floor around the light/fan was dirty, trashcan overflowing, please tell me they do not recycle the foot slippers and separators - I don't know, but that basket was overflowing too. The pedi. stations were not clean or organized well at all. The lotions they use are very cheap with a lot of chemicals and dyes in them, gross. Scrubbers were thrown in a drawer after they were used on my feet so.... that's gross. We paid $35 to get the spa pedicure (my friend and I). Her person gave her quite the massage- mine?, not so much. Ok - none. Mine struggled to figure out my ingrowns, Slapped exfoliants on, washed off almost immediately; slapped the clay stuff on, wrapped smelly half warm towels around my legs, let that sit; washed off and put cheap gross lotion on. No massage!!! In any of those steps!!! Just literally put stuff on and immediately washed off. WHAT DID I PAY FOR??? The big toe on the (L) has a round file while the (R) has a squared off file ? Why? You want acrylic nails and don't really care about atmosphere- I guess this is your place. But to someone that wants what they pay for and get what they pay for- find a decent nail salon, not a nail mill- like here. Disappointing. Furthest from "Spa" pedicure definition as you can get. I had half a mind to not tip at all considering that they charged me double (Regular Pedi is $15)- felt that is the level of service I received NOT the $35 - treat-me-better price I PAID FOR!! PLEASE READ! Absolutely terrible and absolutely horrible service and experience. absolutely do not come here if you want to be harassed and manipulated into spending more money. I went with my sister and we asked for a REGULAR #1 ($35) pedi. We were both completely uncomfortable from the beginning of service. My nail lady mentioned getting the #2 package, I respectfully declined. I picked a color, on the swatch it did not say it was gel. I ask for regular. She put gel on me without saying anything. I told her I didn't ask for gel and she said she could take it off or leave it. She said she didn't want to do regular since it's "sticky". I did not have the time nor wanted my nails to be drilled (I never get gel due to how difficult it is to remove). I was so uncomfortable and stressed about this and tried to voice my feelings. They gave me a $5 discount on the #1 pedi gel ($50). My sister had it worse. Her nail lady started talking about her health and that her relative who are doctors say these things are good. What she meant was this more expensive package is good for her health. Without realizing she started a package that was ($70) when we only wanted a ($35) regular pedi. I realized what she was doing so we both multiple times voiced that she wanted a regular #1 package. Then we multiple times told her no gel. The lady also told my sister she couldn't get the color she wanted and picked one for her. The amount of times this lady tried to manipulate my sister into spending more money was insane. She constantly would say comments on how she should get the more expensive package. My sister ended up spending ($45) since we had to fight for her to get the smaller package (still not the package she asked for) and no gel. WHEN WE ORIGINALLY WANTED A REGULAR PEDI $35 SERVICE. Update: I never said how well the pedi service was done. Genuinely not that great. The gel was messy and my sisters nail was drilled and sloppy. Nail lady damaged her nail, she also needed to paint her nails again due to not being allowed to pick her own color. Absolutely ridiculous. The place in general did have immediate availability and inside it looks so pretty. So unfortunate. I did notice that if you pay they have this wavier you sign that you are aware of what you paid and such. Makes me feel like maybe people have been scammed and they do this so you can't dispute the charge made. read more

She wanted to go here because she wanted to see how they would do which honestly you would think if you have clients driving an hour and a half to get just something as simple as eyelash extensions, you should have better service to gain more clientele. We drive all the way there to to find out we have to wait an hour because they only have 2 people who do them. I LOVE the service and perfection of services at top nails; however, after sitting and listening to the owner RANT to the employees for 20 minutes I don't think I will be going back. The owner was talking loudly, pointing his finger at various times and seemed quite hostile. No one really made eye contact with him, and it appeared at times that he was talking to no one in particular but everyone at the same time. I did not like the atmosphere his behavior created for me. The last time I went to Top Nails was five years ago--and now I remember why. I drove 45 minutes to get a fill-in for my graduation. Clearly my manicurist did not want to be there--she was so ready to have me leave, she didn't even bother to ask me what I wanted. Instead, she did what *she* wanted, and even cut me while removing my polish. When she was done, half of my nails had air bubbles, and I even had some of her hair (which was pulled towards her face) in a couple of them as a bonus. If you asked me what shape my nails are right now, I wouldn't even be able to properly describe them to you--I wanted stiletto, but instead, it looks like I have lumps on my hands. I came here wanting to feel beautiful and left here feeling devastated. I'm going back tomorrow to get them redone. Hopefully I can bump this rating up a bit when I get my new set. read more

He was very patient and kind and put a lot of effort into giving me exactly what I wanted and making my nails look festive for Christmas. After picking a color the older woman doing my nails pulled a color from her desk and said she liked that color better. After asking if that was the color I chose she said no, but continued to say it was close to the same color but better. She used the drill on me (no file) and cut every single one of my fingers. She was more interested in reading my palms and doing fortune telling than doing my nails. She told me I needed to start coming there for my eyelash extensions because they'd do it for $15 cheaper than my current lash lady. I am not one to complain, but after calling in, they would not give me a refund and said I could come back in and have someone else do them. I explained I am having a baby in two days and did not have time for that and I was given no other option. My nails turned out clear, rough, bleeding, sore and missing the "paint" on parts of the nail. I can't speak for the other techs, but I would stay away from this salon.
