A manicure and pedicure were adequate but rushed even though I made a reservation and brought my own slip on sandals and arrived on time, I was raced through and taken to the dryers so that she could serve another client. Beside me were clients having mini shoulder massages I would have appreciated. Not returning. read more

The owner even went above & beyond to give me change for my parking meter & went outside to help me when the hour was up before I could even bring it up. I'm new in town so I've been searching for a good nail salon and this is the one!! I love it here. Everyone is so friendly and they have a great color selection. The place itself is a little small but they have a good number of manicure and pedicure stations so you don't have to wait. The pedicure massage chairs are AMAZING and the girls give a really thorough leg/foot massage along with the pedicure. The last time I was there I timed it- it was a 30 minute pedicure! Very relaxing. The best part is that the color lasts. My manicure stays fresh for about 10-15 days and my pedicure for about 3-4 weeks. They have TVs and soft music playing in the background as well. The owner, Carla, oversees all her employees to make sure everything flows as smoothly as possible. Happy Nail = Unhappy Customer. This was my 1st time @ this salon...& I won't be going back unfortunately. I was excited for my 1st pedicure since COVID so it's been 1 year. Lisa did a decent job of/the gel pedicure itself but... A huge part of a pedi is the relaxation aspect. When it came to the massage, it was nonexistent. She massaged for about a couple of mins for both legs & barely used any pressure. Lisa actually asked me if I wanted a longer massage which I declined but I still should've received a basic massage esp when you're paying $38. When I went to use my card to pay they mentioned there's a $2.50 charge which is more than they actually pay for credit card usage. I imagine the man I was speaking with is the owner who said there isn't an ATM in their strip mall to try & get me to pay w/the card but I saw there's one right across the street. Based out of principle, & the fact that I definitely didn't feel I was getting my money's worth anyway, I went to the ATM. I truly was in need some relaxation w/these crazy COVID times ...& unfortunately this wasn't happening here. The ambiance was less than desirable, lack of a massage & I honestly felt taken advantage of re the credit card charge they were trying to instill. They did practice Covid measures (hanging shields between the mail tech & customer, immediately provided hand sanitizer upon walking in & made it clear you needed a mask), but outside of that, I will not be a retuning customer. I have been a long time customer of Happy Nails for years and am never disappointed. When I moved away, I was sad because I could not find anyone who takes care of me the way these lovely ladies always do. Whenever I am in New York visiting family, I make it a point to visit these ladies and get a manicure and pedicure. Each woman is nice, each women does a good job with my nails and the regular polish lasts just as long as my gel color normally does. (I admit, I wear gloves when washing the dishes.) read more

Spring's here, so I made an appointment for a pedicure and asked for their callous remover treatment. Happy Nails was running a special ($65 which also included a hot-stone massage for only $45). Sounded nice, so I said yes. It was late Friday afternoon. Linda gave me the pedicure and a couple of times I needed to tell her to stop being so rough with that cheese-grater thing, ouch!. She finished and everything looked nice and appeared ok so I paid the $45 bill in cash. Like a fool, I also tipped her $20, because she looked tired after working so hard on my feet. Next day, Saturday, I was busy around the house, too busy to notice anything. That evening both of my feet started stinging and throbbing and it kept me from sleeping. I didn't understand what was going on, so I finally turned on the light and saw deep cuts on my heel, my big toe, and on top of my other foot. So, next day Sunday I went to see the owner of Happy Nails, Carla. I am a nice person, so I asked to speak with her privately in the back room so that her other customers would not overhear our conversation. I showed her my feet, told her who did it and what kind of special pedicure I had ($45) and she immediately grabbed an antiseptic to put on the cuts. I did NOT let her touch my feet, and told her I'd be back if they ended up getting infected. At the same time, I also noticed a strong smell of urine in that room (mind you, this was one of their treatment rooms), just disgusting. My reason for meeting with the owner Carla was to get her to speak with Linda because that girl definitely needs more training! Carla never mentioned if she would speak with Linda at all. I was also curious as to what Carla's decision on the matter would be. I didn't demand a refund like any normal person would, but instead gave her the opportunity to offer one. Slyly, she never did. Instead, she escorted me back outside and gave me a gift card for a pedicure (that's worth around $20). She actually expected me to come back to her salon. She also ran and gave me a cheap bottle of hand moisturizer, WTF? Something completely unrelated and something I will certainly never use. Doesn't pay to be so nice, does it ladies? Well, live and learn, because if this ever happens to me again somewhere else, I will demand a full refund, including the tip. The bottom line here is: Find another nail salon (they're a dime a dozen anyway), this one's mega dirty, literally stinks of urine, and doesn't train their employees properly. P.S. Cuts are healing, thank God, however, both feet look like a lawn mower went over them. Won't be wearing sandals anytime soon. read more

You get what you pay for. Pedicure was good and the place looks clean. Nothing special in pedicure and manicure. However, upon drying unnoticed a ton of air bubbles in the manicure. The polish is old so maybe bring your own to avoid. Will have to go home and re polish. read more

Last time I'll come here . I just walked in for a 12:00 appointment ... the lady asks me to pick a color and expects me to pick a color from one book without offering me the other books or colors . I know what color I wanted and I went to reach for it , she tells me I can't touch the bottles. So I tell her I want to see the other colors and that's when she gives me more options . Then she walks me to the chair for the pedicure and has me put my feet in the water .. walks away doesn't tell me ANYTHING. I'm sitting there for over ten minutes and now the water is ice cold . Still nothing . If you're not ready for someone don't have them waiting in a chair their feet soaking and unattended while the water turns cold and walk away with no explaination especially when they have an appointment. I would rather sit and wait on the side until someone is available . Horrible service ! read more

Terrible experience from start to finish for my gel manicure and pedicure. I made an appointment and upon arrival, my feet were in a cool footbath for over 30 minutes before someone came over to start. At the start, the pedicurist dropped the nail clipper, picked it up and did not sanitize, but continued with clipping -- really?! Then, my manicurist was average. She nicked a few of my cuticles, leaving my fingers red and raw. I also noticed, red polish on my skin for over have my fingernails. The worst part was the manager - Sunny - she was atrocious. She had a negative, curt attitude toward her customers and employees, who appeared to fear her. I witnessed her giving incorrect change to one customer, followed by not giving another customer her credit card back. On top of everything - no charges are posted for ANY services - so when she charged us $199 for three plain gel manis and pedis, I requested, but was not provided any detailed receipt. I went there today, for a pedicure. It was my first time there and right off the bat I felt like they were rushing me. Granted they were busy but still, I'm a new client so if you want me to keep coming back treat me well. The girl who did my pedi was okay, she didn't try to have conversation with me or at least smile. Her facial expression was just like saying that she didn't wanna give me a pedi. And I had shaved this morning so I got a razor rash from that. And she wasn't able to scrub my legs because it hurt so much I was screaming in pain. And then that's when she got even more rude. By that point I felt she wasn't giving me a good experience at all. And when she was finally done with my pedi as soon as she sat me down for me to dry she said "you pay now?". Like really??? Of course I was going to pay, just let me breathe first. She just only wanted my money. So nonetheless, I won't be going back there again. Happy nails you didn't make me so happy. The owner and entire staff are always sweet and make you feel welcome. Sounds silly but it is a "happy " environment, just like the name. Lol. I have been to nail salons all around the area and have been unsatisfied with not only the service and quality, but the filthy working conditions. This establishment gets 5 stars in my book! I decided to give this place a second chance after they destroyed my eyebrows, so I made an appointment for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. I arrived first thing in the morning when the salon opened only to see that they overbooked and I was to be treated like a walk-in and a pest. The girl that did my pedicure was lovely and did a great job, but then the owner made me wait 15 minutes in between my pedicure and gel manicure with no explanation; leaving me to ask "how much longer?". To top it off, the owner did my nails, did not give me a shoulder massage because she was juggling other things and on top of ALL that - they didn't even give me the matching color for my gel manicure and regular pedicure. They just gave me two random shades of orange/red when I asked to match. They already charge ridiculous prices in comparison to other salons in the area and now I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. By far the worst pedicure and gel manicure I have ever gotten. I tried Happy Nails a few times and each time I have left disappointed. The pedicure lasted maybe a total of 15 mins and the girl seemed like she could care less and that I was almost bothering her. I have been going to this nail salon for over 20 years. Carla is the new owner and she has done an amazing job upgrading all the equipment. I used to have my nails wrapped but was told to switch to gel because they last longer and they were right. I love the way they look and how long they last. All the pedicure girls are fantastic. When my family and I first moved to Pearl River, we would only go to happy nails because it was the only nail salon in town. My mother, sister and I would go there for our nails, and facial waxing but we eventually stopped due to the dissatisfaction each time. The salon specialist have terrible manners, and they keep raising their prices but there quality of service is still terrible. Gel back a year or two ago was $25 now i believe it's $35 or $40. I found a new place in Nanuet "Tutti" that does an excellent job all around - slightly expensive but it's worth the good experience. Back to my review, I rarely ever go there because I go to the nail salon in Nanuet. However when I find myself in a rush, and need to go to Happy Nails, I go. The last 3 times have been so terrible that I am officially done going there and so much so I had to leave this review. A few months ago I went in for a quick lip and eyebrow wax because it was right in town and I was in a rush. When I tell them keep the shape and size just clean up, they would always make my eyebrows super thin. So I tell them only to clean up and I tweeze the rest when I get home because I do not trust them keeping the shape the same since every time i would get them done there- they made it super thin. A few months ago I went to get a wax and as a lady did my lip wax.... she waxed my lip, and then started to wax all the way around my mouth to my cheek.... I immediately told her to stop and said "What are you doing, I just want my lip waxed" She says she does that with all her clients and she got annoyed with me and the. I told her to wipe the wax off I've never had that done before. A lip wax is just the lip, not lip and cheek- being as there's no hair on the cheek. Flash forward a month or so I usually get Gel, but I needed a quick regular mani and my other place was $5 more so I decided let me see if I can get a regular manicure there because they charge $10. Some of the ladies there are familiar with me and my mom because we used to go there often back in the day, she asked where I got my current gel from and I said another place. I asked why she said, oh just wondering. Then she asked "oh why doesn't your mother come in anymore". Very unprofessional. I kept telling the lady to cover my whole nail with paint and still she did not listen to me and there's a gap between my nail and cuticle and it just looks as if the nail isn't freshly done- looks like a nail looks when the nail is growing out. Very annoyed because I kept telling her to color the whole nail and she still didn't. Not to mention, the whole time she didn't say anything about a $5 fee to take the gel off and that's why she asked if I got it done there or not. She just told me at the end after my nails were done. She should have said the second I walked in there's a fee to remove gel. Two days ago was my last and final time at Happy Nails. I again, was trying to cross things off my to-do list and had 40 minutes before class. Wanted to get a quick lip and eyebrow wax. I get in there and yes, it's packed... but each person was being tended too. I saw a person there who has done my brows before, "Jenny", walked up to her and asked her if she can do eyebrow and lip and I said when you're finished with the person she's tending to. She was applying the top coat of the girls gel and I am sitting there waiting patiently for like 10 minutes. Then she says "I am with customer I can't do your wax" and I said, "you don't have to now, after the customer". Not a single other person was there that needed help besides me. And then after another few minutes she tells me to come back later she can't take me right now. As I leave she starts talking in her native language and her and a few other nail ladies are laughing. This is why I never go there, very unprofessional and they have terrible service. DO NOT GO THERE. Not to mention when my mother stopped going there is because she got a fungal infection on her toe from that place. I strongly recommend finding a different place. There prices do not match the service. Very unhappy with that business. read more

Extremely disappointed with my visit. This place was recommended by coworkers so I went to get a gel mani and regular pedi. The pedicure was rushed and I was quickly shuffled to get my manicure done. The woman doing my nails was looking at the clock more than my nails and I ended up bleeding a lot. She shrugged her shoulders, found the liquid solution to stop the bleeding, and continued. As I was leaving, they assured me that my pedicure would stay intact and I walked out with my shoes on. When I got home, the nail polish on my toes was clumped together.
