The Male tech tech does Beautiful Nails , But didn't clean any of the dirt under acrylic ( gardening) or repair any areas where my nails were lifting (from water), I shouldn't have to watch every step to be sure they are properly doing their job. April 8, 2023 was my 20th birthday my lovely hubby decided to take me out to get my nails done for my birthday! I come at least once every two weeks to change it up. Ask for Keili and she will do some of the best freestyle I have ever seen. Everything is reasonably priced, 35 for a manicure with gel and style and gems, come on now, no one does that. Had a Groupon deal for a deluxe pedi and a gel manicure that I got bc I had Groupon credit and was going in a cruise. If I actually had to pay for it I would have been PO'd. I was hoping that the other review was going to be wrong and my leg massage would be good and lengthy - I watched the girl next to me get a thorough leg massage with her pedicure. Alas, my legs and feet barely got a couple minutes of a rub down which is totally a rip off. She was pretty thorough with cleaning up my cuticles on my feet, but she rounded my toe nails which makes you way more prone to ingrown toenails. Plus it has literally been a week and my toe Polish has chipped. And UGH my manicure. I felt like I was an inconvenience to her. She didn't ask me how I wanted my nails shaped, she just started rounding them and I had to correct her, so one ended up too short. Another was filed crooked so I had to ask her to fix that. Also, I HATE it when I can see my nails under my polish, and I was trying to communicate with her and make sure my polish was opaque enough which she didn't really understand, so I just said whatever... THEN, one of my nails got smudged as I was pulling my hand out of the UV drier. I said, whoops, I smudged this one, sorry! There was some fuzz on it from my sweatshirt too. And instead of going to fix it she was just going to slap clear coat on it. Really??? Nooooope I need ya ta fix that please. The Polish wasn't even by my cuticles - some were 1/8" away, some had polish on them and on my skin. I don't know. It was sloppy. And - I don't know how this was possible - but they all chipped in a week. For the record, I don't want you to think this was possible because I stiffed her on tip bc of my discounted service voucher. I'm used to tipping after washing my hands and before polish application (that sentence only makes sense if you've ever gotten your nails done). I tipped her and I tipped her well too - off the full service value and everything. I was like, toes, whatever - really the manicure was all I was looking forward too. Maybe I'm bitter because I got engaged on my vacation and my nails looked poopy in the picture. read more

I should have known. Fifteen dollars for a gel polish was definitely too good to be true. First my visit started off with barely being greeted. I was probably there for a Solid 5 minutes before anybody can knowledge my presence. Which is a long time to enter a small business which is not self service based and not get any acknowledgement... The older lady who ended up working on my nails was nice enough and guaranteed my nails would last or be fixed if they messed up within a week. This isn't my first bad experience in a nail shop. And so I was trying to ensure that my nails would last for my two week trip. I was really trying to determine if I needed to get a different type of service. I was to be out of the country for 2 weeks so her guarantee for fixing it within a week was kind of a mute point. A ask for gel polish as I don't like too much done to my actual nails. That, being said she went through the process of applying my gel nail polish is though she was applying gel nails or acrylic nails. She begin filing down my nails which I asked her not to do because it's unnecessary when applying gel polish. She insisted on doing this. Despite my apprehensions, I allows her to continue. This is completely my fault since I went against my gut feeling. When putting my hands under the setting light I noticed it was very dirty, and it was causing my fingers to stick to the bottom of the light. The woman kept telling me to put my hand back in there so that my nails can dry but my fingers felt funny. When I took my hand out, there was what I'm guessing was old gel from a different application burnt to my finger. I couldn't get it off and it hurt. My mistake number 2, allowing her to continue the process and complete it. Although quite frankly the damage was already done. It took two days for the gel burnt to my finger to come off and the paint to subside. Once my nails were completed, they looked gorgeous but the side effects of this particular "gel manicure" were felt for weeks. My nails are particularly weak and keep breaking, shedding, and from the unnecessary filing. My nails are still not the same and I can barely keep regular nail polish on them at this point. I really hope to get them back to their normal healthy state soon. I will never go back to the shop again! read more

Horrible service, poor people skills, and dirty. I came in for a mani & pedi, and as soon as I walked I learned quickly this was not going to be good. The towels used for hot towels ( for the spa pedi) were filthy- they're supposed to be white but they're not- stains on marks all over the hot and dry towels used. She asked if I wanted my nails cut shorter, I said yes but not too short; she approached and cut them too short starting with the big toe. I asked her what's included in a spa pedi, she said longer massage. My massage lasted a minute and twenty five seconds- not worth the extra money I paid. She then reached for the color I chose for my pedi, before applying a clear coat! I said, where is the clear coat? She pretended she didn't hear me- I repeated until she said " oh clear coat"! The tv was on in the background so she turned and watched it for a few minutes a couple of times. I ended up with cuts and bleeding when she did the manicure .Long story short, skip it. Only reason I came in was due to how close it's located to where I was, not worth a penny. read more

I've been trying to like this place for over a year but after being treated as shitty as i was this morning by the husband (owner) I will never be back. He should be ashamed of himself. There were 2 techs working and he was finishing up with his client. I was trying to match the color in the picture i brought. He kept shaking his head with disgust with every color i showed him telling me why 5 or 6 different choices i made wouldn't work. By then i was uncomfortable so when he said let's just get your old color off i expressed that finding the right color was important to me. He told me I was wasting time. He then continued to tell me more of my choices were wrong which frustrated me as i put all my choices off to the side. Then he accuses me of throwing and destroying his color selections screamIng something about powder?! I was so confused and uncomfortable I couldn't run out of there faster. Even more confusing is he is the reason i started going there every 4 weeks for a year because he did such a great job?!?! BOTTOM LINE if you don't want to read the whole review: I will not be back. Too many other options for better results (chipping led to having to go back and then after going back a couple of my nails aren't even smooth and air bubbles were not removed, either), better prices and better customer service. I went to this nail salon because I was meeting my niece and it was closer for her. I was surprised that it was a $42 gel manicure. I have had many gel manicures at other salons and they were not that much (usually pay anywhere from $25-$35). I was there on a Saturday (we had appts, which I recommend). By Monday, one nail had chipped noticeably and another had just started. Nearly all my other nails were looking like the polish was "worn" on the edges. I prefer to handle issues directly with an establishment rather than immediately go on social media, so I contacted them. They do have a policy of fixing nails within two weeks, which I appreciated, so I went in. It is still inconvenient to have to go back in, but at least they will fix the problem. I felt like the woman who touched up my nails was not gracious at all about this and was quite forceful moving my hands around to touch up the nails. She had longer nails herself and was digging her nails into my fingers as she applied the polish. The woman next to me said she didn't have cash so she pulled out her credit card. The manager asked if she could write a check instead. Kinda tacky, in my opinion. read more

VERY DIRTY. I got a pedicure and ATHLETE'S FOOT FROM THIS SALON! When I got my manicure, I noticed the nail tech using old paper towels (they had old acrylic powder and polish on them), but I was too polite to say anything. I also thought I saw them seat people in the pedicure chair I had used without cleaning it, but there are so many chairs I couldn't be sure it was my chair. I WAS NOT MISTAKEN! DO NOT GO HERE. They did not clean the tools they used on my feet and I got athlete's foot from the tools! I went back and told them. The owner was VERY RUDE but she did refund my money, which pretty much proves she knows they are not cleaning their tools or the salon. It's not worth it! If you want a cheap salon that is clean, try Daisy Nails in Minneapolis. There are cheap nail salons that are clean! Don't go here!!!! It takes an entire month to get rid of Athlete's foot on your feet and you will feel SO GROSSED OUT that you got a fungal infection from a nail salon! EW!!! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! I purchased a Groupon certificate for $35 and it was for a Spa Pedicure and Shellac manicure at happy nails. I was able to get an appointment pretty quickly and made the drive to Columbia heights. My first impression was that this place was dirtier than I expected. I tripped walking into the shop because there was a dirty towel on the floor. I have no clue why it was placed there... It's not a doormat. I told the employee that I was there for a spa pedicure and a shellac manicure. As she got started on the pedicure, I asked what was included in the spa pedicure and she stated it included a leg massage and scrub/exfoliating. She was working on the scrub ( which hurt quite a bit but she was so nice, I didn't say anything), and then the boss or whoever the lady is that rings customers up, came by and asked the woman doing the pedicure a question in her native language. She then talks to me and explains that my pedicure will cost $25 more because it's a spa pedicure. I explained that's what I asked for and I had a certificate stating that's what I paid for. She insisted that I was not getting a spa pedicure, but some other more expensive option. I respectfully explained again that I asked for a spa pedicure and that's what I expected I was getting. I wasn't paying extra. She kept insisting that I was getting the spa pedicure but that it's more. I was very confused at that point because she was saying I'm getting a spa pedi but that's exactly what I paid for- so not sure what the issue was! Eventually she says I can pay $10 extra. I got tired of arguing and said whatever. I really think she was trying to get more $$ knowing I had a groupon certificate. As I was getting the shellac mani, I asked how much it was for that and I was told $25. The sign on the wall said a spa pedi was $35 ( which was $45 for me after the $10 sudden increase). The groupon advertised I was paying $35 for $70 worth of services, yet I was only getting $60 worth of services, and in the end I was paying $45 instead of $35. I told the lady I won't be paying the full tip I planned on because she was ripping me off. So I only paid $5 for tip ($15 extra in total). I felt bad about it but I feel like the woman was taking advantage of the situation and since I only paid $35 for coupon, probably figured she can try to get more $$ out of me. Why advertise with groupon if you're going to change the prices and charge more once the customer redeems the coupon? The place was dirty, the equipment was dirty, and during the manicure I had to ask for the towels to be changed because they were using dirty towels. It had still been there from the previous customer because it had the acrylic residue on the towels, nail polish, nail clippings, etc. My pedi was not great and the mani is so-so. Doesn't seem like much effort was put in, especially once learning I had a groupon. I will NOT go there again!! There's a Happy nails on Snelling Avenue that's incredible... I should've gone there instead of this dump. read more
