Love the service they always get my nails just how I like them they are really great with there customer

I was profiled as a Karen & treated as such when I walked in the door. While other the reviewers had good things to say, I have none. I was not a regular there and first time customer. The tech I had sounded so bothered to utter a word to me, even when she had to, I felt contempt & annoyance from her. This not an exaggeration. When she did my daughters she was a different person. I realized in this situation the tech displayed an example for my daughter /her first nail experience/ on how not to treat people. I paid for our nails left a tip like I do with anyone, wished them a good day aven though they didn't deserve it. MY TIP: If you do go dont wear flip flops you will slip on the sandy floor with the crunch of nail tips under your feet that hasn't been cleaned anytime lately. read more

I love this small salon. It took me a long time to find somewhere that listened to me and didn't destroy my nails. Very happy with them after months and months. I have long natural nails and I like to get an acrylic overlay. I also ask for some complex nail designs at times and they always do a great job. read more

I happened to be in Chalmette and needed to kill some time so I decided to get my nails done. I looked up the closest place to me that popped up on yelp. The nail salon is a bit hidden and had limited parking so I parked at the gas station across the street. I got a manicure and a pedicure. The pedi, I was extremely happy about, Kim was very thorough and detail oriented. My feet are smooth as a baby's! A younger girl did my manicure, my only complaint is that the cuticle clippers weren't sharp enough, so it was more like cuticle pulling not cuticle cutting. All in all, my nails and feet look great and I was satisfied with my experience. The pricing was very reasonable as well. I will say, however, if you're looking for a luxurious spa experience, this isn't it. I was fine with that, but it seemed like some of the customers were a little irritated when the nail techs were jumping from one client to the next. In my experience, it's quite difficult to find a nail salon that checks off my every need but I was so happy with my pedi, I can look past everything else. read more

leaving a review on yelp as well to let everyone know my experience at this business. they are overpriced & they will try to rob you. I went there for a simple polish and pedi. my nails were already shaped and I had just removed the polish so that that would not need to be done, but the lady decided to clean my shape up on her own without my permission. I did not think much of it because if you're giving me a service I did not ask for I would assume it's free. moving forward, I had an elderly lady sitting next to me and she wanted regular toes and if you don't know gel and regular polish don't match. But that's besides the point. The lady wanted regular and the owner & the lady doing her toes insisted that she gets gel because it would be better for her, mind you it's $55 for Gel and the lady did not want to pay that price but they pressured her because she was getting French tips. if you're someone who has been in the nail shops since before hurricane katrina then you know gel is not necessary for French tips, at all. The lady finally caved in and that's why I decided I would get regular because it was beyond me that they would do her that and sometimes when u don't go to the nailshop to remove the gel it will turn your nails black (at least me and a friend had that problem). so, after my toes were done it was time for my polish. I asked the lady for a design and a design is $5 for each finger (overpriced) I ended up wanting 4. they told me my nails would be $45 and I was a little confused because there was no way a polish was $25. I asked my friend to tell me how much was a polish and she said $10. so, I started asking the lady how much for a full set ($30), how much for a polish ($25) & then I asked well why does it say ($10) on the board & she said "because you get gel". I corrected her & told her I never asked for gel on my nails, in fact, we never discussed it, only my toes. But in my mind I was like if I am getting regular toes, why would I want gel nails? It would be two different colors. so, she violently drilled the polish off, every bit of it & I decided I didn't want the polish anymore bc it was taking longer than I expected. I had a hair appointment so I needed to go. the lady polishing my nails ended up telling me she's charging me $5 for reshape once I told her I did not want the polish anymore, which was unfair because I already had my nails in square shape, she simply cleaned the shape up, without my permission might I add. I didn't argue about it, I just said fine and shrugged my shoulders. she went talked to her boss about me and they seemed pretty upset. My payment was delayed because my phone died so I sat and charged my phone. As I am charging my phone my best friend walked in and I explained to her the situation & how I did not get a polish. the owner decided to jump into the conversation and say "you told me you wanted gel nails, I talked to you". I had to tell her I didn't even know her and we never had a conversation besides what kind of services I needed. she insisted, but she actually spent her entire time persuading someone to get GEL she never spoke to me as she was doing someone else's nails. I told her to kindly stop lying and let me charge my phone so I could pay and leave. She retorted, "hurry up and pay and leave". That kinda pissed me off because that was something I already said I would do. We exchanged a few more words and then she frantically called her son to the front as if he was a body guard to make sure I would pay. I paid and as I was leaving the lady polishing my nails said "I charged you $5 for reshape" and as I said I didn't care but I also had to remind her to keep her mouth closed because that was robbery, especially if I already came with my nails shaped. moral of the story, u all are being robbed. read more

This nail salon is off the beaten path but has excellent service and they take their time and the prices are affordable. My gel nail manicure was $25 and my regular pedicure was $23. As a bonus one of the nail techs husband sells fresh golf large shrimp for $5/lb. You can't beat the prices for the service!! I live in Gentilly and this place is worth the drive out to St. Bernard Parish!!! read more

Be warned they are always busy because they are so good and inexpensive.... I called two days before my visit for a wedding party. The owner took our reservation and opened her shop one hour early to accommodate my group on her biggest day of the month (1st Friday). She was extremely accommodating and called extra people in early at no additional charge to me. She works very quickly and is very neat. The shop is clean and unlike a lot of shops around New Orleans they are all attitude free! I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely return every time I come to Chalmette. read more

Recently moved to chalmette and needed a place to get my nails done. I passed by "Happy Nails" and noticed it looked very clean so I thought I would try it. The owner is very nice. She is always in a great mood and puts her customers first! I highly recommend you try her. She's open 12pm-6 on Sundays and will even stay late for you to get your nails done. If she's busy when you come in and don't want to wait she will schedule an app with you after hours so you will not have to wait! Love this nail salon!!!! read more

Wish I could give this ZERO stars....brought my daughter to get her nails done for the very first time & she wanted a design with strips.....the design was beautiful for all of 2 hours and then ALL the strips began to peel up & some even came off...we came at 6pm....they close at 7pm....my daughter was in bed by 9pm......so nothing strenuous had been done to make the strips start peeling......I brought her back the following day.....she decided she would just pick a plain color since she no longer trusted them to do a design.....I was told by the owner if she changed colors i would be charged a color change and she would prefer to just fix the problem....she claimed she could just glue the strips & it would be fixed......really? Because I tried the exact same thing at the house, and within minutes they were right back peeling up......so instead of just painting my daughters nails for free.....since they screwed up the design......they expected me to pay and additional $7 for a color change on top of the $30 I had paid less that 24 hours ago.....I left and paid the $7 to another nail salon......I refused to give Happy Nails another penny......I will never go to happy nails again.....and recommend you don't either if you want your nails to last.....complete waste of money and time!!!!! These people are not very experienced with doing nails..If you get longer nails verrrryyy not experienced in doing those. They don't care about the quality of your nails.... I don't understand why nailshops charge you more for a shape such as coffin nails, pointy, etc . I personally don't like how they do nails it's garbage when they first opened up they took their time wasn't rushing now it's like they don't care they don't know how to do any cute designs are up to date nail styles ...they don't speak clear English and trying to get them to understand geez good luck .. read more
