Yikes ... lukewarm water. Tech kinda scoffed that I wanted my nails cut shorter. (Don't judge me ... I know my time constraints ... I need my appointments spaced out more). I went in for a basic gel manicure and pedicure. The nail tech rushed the entire service. The tech didn't remove all of the previous polish I had on properly. I had to constantly ask the tech to fix imperfections which didn't help at all. The new gel polish from my nails somehow transferred to my clothes after a rushed UV lamp drying. I'm sitting here now in the nail salon getting a pedicure and it hasn't even been 10 minutes. I got the basic pedicure like I always get at my normal nail salon. This lady has rushed through my pedicure. She didn't put the stuff they put in the water just ran regular water. I didn't notice because I was on a call until after she was done. She didn't file my toe nails I had to calll her out on it. I told her no cut down but you always get a file. I mentioned to her that this was a fast service! I don't recommend coming to this salon. I like to enjoy my pedicures. The basic comes with shape, cuticle trim, massage, and polish. I didn't get anything but a damn polish! I'm pissed off! I want to give them no stars. I typically don't leave reviews however this place deserves my review. With this place called happy nails and spa..I wasn't so happy at all. I went in on 5/9 to get a manicure and full set by Tiffany. I went to her due to her being at that salon for so long. I've never had a mani and fully set take less than 30mins and it showed. Keep in mind I had somewhere to be so I really didn't look at them until I got to my destination. The job so rushed and the design was sloppy. At first glance I was like ok they look decent. When I sat and stared, I realized how rushed and sloppy the job REALLY was. I called today 5/10 letting them know I wasn't happy with my nails and I wanted them off. I went in today to have them soaked off . Tiffany tried to fast talk me into getting a new design/ color . I told her no I wanted them soaked off because I didn't like it. I asked if was going to be compensated, she tells me "no" because of their policy and because I changed my mind . Mind you there is no policy posted about being compensated for a sloppy job done. I just left. Tiffany has issues. I never in my years have felt this much disdain and contempt from a nail technician. She was very nasty, distant and rude. I felt so uncomfortable. She did my fill and gel in less than 25 mins. And, boy do they look as such. The gel is thick and the nails aren't shaped well. She left paint on my fingers and oiled one hand and not the other......what a mess. I didn't care at a point as she was rolling her eyes and grabbing my fingers so tight. I just wanted to pay and go. This place is exactly why you see people making fun of nail techs and how they mistreat paying customers in a black community. BEWARE OF THE BAIT AND SWITCH!!! This was the worst nail experience of my life. After having stopped in Saturday to check whether or not I needed an appointment. I was told no, just come in. I inquired about a "specific polish color" that was on display when you walk in. I was told that I could get that polish on my toes and that it would be an additional $5. So I went in today. When I asked for the polish I had inquired about just two days earlier, I was told that all of the colors with a "dot" beside it they didn't have - mind you, even the dots are different colors. So, I chose another gel polish. As the woman was doing my pedicure she rolled down my pant legs as if she were finished. I asked when she was going to do the callous removal? She said, "I do". She proceeded to begin to polish my nails and I stopped her. I inquired of another employee when was she going to do the callous removal which is supposed to be included in $45.00 spa service. She said, "She did it". OMG!!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was so upset but decided to just finish this awful pedicure. Oh, by the way, the extra $5 is on top of the $20 for gel nails. It cost $70 dollars for the worst pedicure ever. She hit my big toe with the curing light and she then tried to patch it. I insisted that she remove the gel and redo that nail... by the way she used cuticle scissors and chopped off the side of my nail on my big toe closest to my second toe. I paid begrudgingly. They are lying, stealing and treating people like they are stupid. .... And of course it goes without saying that they talked about me in their language the whole time. The worst nail job I have gotten ever!!! Its not even Halloween and my nails look like candy corn. I went back to the shop the next day not only did they let the same lady mess up my nail after be insisting that someone else do it she ended up changing my pedicure polish to the wrong color. My nails and feet were still done sloppy. I've gotten ombre for years and instead of them admitting to the sloppy job they tried to convince me that I should've went to the place that did my nails originally. I just happened to be in Maryland and couldn't get to my normal location in va. The service was so shabby and rushed. I paid for a spa pedicure and didn't receive proper services. I just went here for the first time, not my usual salon, just one on the way home... and I must say, THIS IS THE UGLIEST SET OF F'N NAILS I EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!!!! The only reason I could not get them fixed is because I had a deadline to pick my children up. First of all, I asked for a overlay. Which is of course acrylic covering my real nail. This place is trash. Especially KEVIN. I went in asking for an overlay with A LITTLE length. Kevin was about to lay acrylic WITHOUT even cleaning the cuticles or nails so i requested a manicure beforehand.. cool.. he sloppily laid the acrylic making it uneven and longer than requested. Due to the fact he didn't clean/trim my nails before applying acrylic it showed when he did the French. I didn't like it so i requested a soak off simply due to the fact he couldn't perform said service i requested. He charged me for the soak off AND DIDNT EVEN TAKE OFF ALL THE ACRYLIC NOR CLEAN MY NAILS BACK UP. My experience was awful. I came for a pedicure, fill in and two fixes. The pedicure was okay, nothing special and I had to ask several times for her to use new/sanitized equipment. On to the fill. I walked in with straight square nails, no frills, no taper, I asked for a cut down and to keep my same shape. The cut down was fine but, she proceeded to file them in a rounded tapered square. I stopped her and explained the shape again. Still ignores me. I filed a nail myself to show her what I wanted but the two nails she did were already ruined. I asked to simply soak them off and I'd leave. She calls the manager over and they add a ton of acrylic and try to reshape. I explained it's still not what I've asked for and I'd like to pay for my pedicure and go. The manager loses her mind! She is yelling at me, saying I wasted their time, I owe the woman for all the work that she's done (all she did was fill and cut down so, what ?). She snatches my card out of my hand, yells she's going to charge me $70, I had to threaten to call the police to get my card back but, she proceeds with the yelling. She's yelling and following me as I walk out. Everyone at this shop thinks they can talk to and treat people any kind of way. No customer service skills, dirty shop, limited understanding of English and unskilled. I wish I'd read the reviews here before going. A treat for my birthday turned into a a hassle and overwhelmingly awful experience. I also noted in the two hours I was there, 10 people came in for nail repairs, chipped polish, etc. manicures and pedicures less than a week old and already having issues. 2 women said this was their last time as patrons. One of the salon tech "Tiffany" does not practice safety cleaning by disinfecting her area due to Covid. This person did not wipe down the Pedicure chair before I sat down. This person did not wipe down per station chair after a previous customer left, or did she change her station towel after doing last customers nails. When I met Kevin, my nail technican he was pleasant and positive... until he could not upsell me on power and gel nails. I only get acrylic. He was rough with my hands and I actually had to remind him that my hands were not an object and not to push them away when he was done with them and not to file my fingers and not my nails in his rush to finish my service. The main reason why I'm writing this review because Kevin demanded I pay for my service before he painted my nails! I had never had a nail technician do this before. I found this very rude and unprofessional. I sensed the more money you spend, the nicer some of them could be. Not to extend quality service regardless of service is a slap in the face of the black community that it serves. Came here because my friend recommended this location and I needed a pedicure. It is pretty easy to locate from the street and it is rather nice when you walk in. Aside from that I really wasn't pleased. The pedicure was rushed and the technician tried to up sale everything from a spa pedicure to waxing. The pedicure itself was sub par, I think it may have lasted ten minutes max. I requested a white on white French and was told that they could not or would not accommodate. I've been coming to this location for awhile now and stopped coming at one point in time due to the poor customer service. Today I received an alert stating that I was overcharged for the original amount that was expressed and charged. I called to speak with the owner who claims to not understand my complaint or issue while confidentially letting me know I wrote a $10 tip for the tech that helped me that day which I did not do. I offered to come to the shop in person to help settle the matter while producing time stamped proof. The owner didn't want to look at my transaction emails, but wanted the tech to validate my statement instead... The tech was forced to look through the system for my receipt and became in enraged shoving money in my face while yelling at me. The owner (who was no help to begin with) came over asked for my number and explained the tech was wrong while still not trying to see the proof or let me finish speaking. My mother scheduled appointments, but when we walked in, we were told that both ladies hadn't been to work in weeks. 2. After sitting at the pedicure bowl for 10 minutes, the nail techs finally came over and started our pedicures. I had to ask over 5 times to change the temperature of the water because it was to cold, and in the end I gave up because she couldn't figure out how to switch it from cold to hot. 3. Nai used to do my nails in Waldorf so when he moved to this shop I recommended my mom and friends to go to him. I showed him a picture off IG of a style and design I wanted. Asked if he could do it and he said yes. But it was kinda complicated so I wasn't expecting perfection and I trusted him enough to slay my nails regardless. I could tell he was in a mood but I figured it's early and he's rushing so I tried to chat a bit to lighten things up. He glued on the nails and cut them down to begin shaping. He asked if the nail shape was good on the first finger so I said that I don't want the sides round but straight. He asked again on the second nail and I said the first one was good just so he knew the shape was fine. He then says "just let me do my $hit!!" And I'm like "why are you cussing at me!?" He replied "go find that nail tech if you like that design so much! Have them do your nails!" I was shocked! Was there less than 5 minutes before all this happened. I immediately told him to take the nails off. He cut them down and I could tell with his attitude he was going to just pluck the nail off so I got up before he could further damage my real nails. If he couldn't do it he should've just said that and I would've been fine picking a simple color and design. Was trying something new for a special occasion. Poor quality of work, I asked for square shaped nails and that's literally what I received, there was no effort in defining the nails at all, the tips were filed in a square but the corners were not touched leaving my nails rough and ridget around the corners. As I look down at my nails all of them are pointing to the left. The polish on my toes has somehow started to crack and have air pockets on the big toes. They had a nerve to charge $75 for their services, this was $75 worth of nothing. Don't waste your time or money ladies and gentlemen. Very clean - very fast - very big! Pros: - Huge place, so no wait at all for a pedicure chair. - Lots of colors, and nice massage chairs. - Pedicure really lasts - I am on week two without a chip. I only visited this salon because I was in a crunch to get a quick pedi and gel mani for my daughter and I, in preparation for our upcoming trip. So, this was not my first time visiting. Last time I came it was in May and now I remember exactly why. For starters, it is always pack and not very sanitary... at all. I was greeted by the receptionist, Kayla and she pair me with a woman technician. She immediately sat me down and walked away. Two minutes later a new guy (John.. or Johnnie I believe) comes over to give me my service. I wanted a take off and new gel set. He insists it's not needed. Cool. I then ask for the coffin shape. Annnnnd anyone who gets their nails coffin shape knows this take a special expertise. Well.... this is where Mr. Johnnie LACKED. sigh. Not only was the shaping rather bulky, when he goes to polish my nail I chose DND 529 (Blue River) and a Glitter DND 523... to say the least....The glitter was no good. So I opt for a different glitter. Mind you this is gel polish. So as he goes to put on the top coat I notice the glitter nails still seem wet... Mr. Johnnie insists they're not. We go back and forth for about 5 minutes until I finally just smear to nail to prove my point. ‍ Ultimately he blames it on the UV light machine ... (but my blue nails dried perfectly fine). I'm irritated at this point and am forced to just go with getting all my nails blue. I hate them. Then I went to get my pedicure. 20 minutes until closing.. he ensure he can finish it. He rushes that. Took him a flying 8 minutes. (What a half ass way to make up for my glitter tragedy ) ... I'm just too through. The polish on my toes were subpar.
