I had to pay $15 deposit in advance To hold my appointment. Odd, I've never done this before. Initially I was impressed with the front desk staff and the appearance of the facility. The nail tech was unprofessional, talkative, and she was not taking safety precautions at all. One technician left for the day and barely sprayed, let alone cleaned the pedicure bowl. When I got home I saw that I had nail polish on the skin of my toes. I will never give them my business again. It's sad because I'd love to support black owned businesses. I wanted to get my nails painted white for Labor Day weekend, because I was traveling to NYC for the weekend. I work 5 minutes from this nail salon, so I thought it was a perfect location to try and get my nails done before I caught my bus to NYC. Thus, I booked a 2:45 pm appointment prior to my bus leaving at 6:30 pm from Washington, DC to head to NYC. The ambiance and decor of the nail salon is really, really nice. The grey and white colors on the wall and the quotes on the wall when you first walk in set the atmosphere for sure. The front desk staff member was semi-friendly towards me, which didn't bother me. And luckily I didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes to begin my service. My original appointment was for a manicure, pedicure and eyebrows. But due to my manicure and pedicure taking a total of 2 hours and 20 minutes, I skipped the eyebrows because I didn't want to be late for my bus. The nail associates were super friendly and super nice. I was so grateful that they took their time to cater to each of my toenails. However, I think they took a little bit of too much time and the quality of the nail polish was not the best. It took 1 hour and 10 Minutes for my pedicure to be complete, which is a bit unusual for me because I'm used to faster pedicures that take 35 minutes. However, the reason for the 2 stars is because of the nail polish that was used for both my toes and fingernails. I noticed that my nail associate took 1 hour and 10 minutes to do my fingernails too! She literally shook the nail polish bottle EVERY TIME she painted each fingernail in order to get nail polish out of the bottle. So that's a minimum of 10 shakes, which adds an extra 5-10 seconds of unnecessary time to my appointment. The nail polish was honestly dull and my fingernails did not shine. Because I was truly unsatisfied with my fingernails, one of the associates offered me the manicure for free, which I appreciated. Thus, I only Paid for my pedicure which was $35. I saved $25 on the total services rendered. In the future, I recommend this location uses NEW nail polish bottles and replenishes their nail polish often instead of using nail thinner or shaking the bottle "ump-teenth" times. If the customer invests in your service, then we expect a good quality of fresh nail polish. In addition, service needs to be slighter faster. Other than that, the associates were really friendly and maybe I'll give this nail salon another chance one day. I had a traumatic experience two weeks ago when I went to a neighborhood nail shop that did a horrible job causing me to go to a second shop later that day only to end up polishing my own nails at the end of the day. I'm not good at polishing my nails, so it was a total waste of time and money. Fast forward two weeks. I'd found a nail shop on Yelp, but I had a very hard time finding it. Once I finally did locate the shop, the owner told me he worked by appointment only and was booked. So, I sat in my car and Googled nail shops near this other shop, which led me one exit away to Get Nailed. What a beautiful salon that immediately gives you the spa experience the moment you walk through the doors. Get Nailed is by appointment only also, and I literally begged to have my nails done. After waiting only a few minutes, I was escorted into the beautiful all-white salon with a circular, bar-height nail station. My technician, Cash, did an awesome job and re-shaped my nails without even having to be asked, and she had every tool imaginable. She was friendly and skilled, and we chatted like old friends. It was so refreshing. I had a fill-in gel set with powder, and I was only charged $40! For a place like this, that is a bargain, especially compared to "shops" in downtown DC. I've already booked my next appointment and am super excited to be supporting a minority-owned business that is so, so glamorous. Thank you for an exceptional spa experience. This is my new go-to place to escape the hustle and bustle because I work very hard and deserve to be pampered. Being new to the area, I am still trying to find that IT nail salon. I was told about this black owned business and I had to check it out for myself. There is a free parking lot. I went around 1230 and was greeted right away by "D" who also did my service. The place is about two months old and it seems like they are still doing some add ons but overall the place is beautiful, white, and chic. So far they only have four pedicure chairs, not sure if they will be adding more. I got a gel manicure and they have a lot of DND brand colors. I am overall happy with the outcome of my nails, she did three coats of polish which I appreciate. It did hurt a little when my cuticles were being messed with. Listen here...today was my first visit to Get Nailed salon and from the time I walked in, it was pure bliss. The all white decor is nothing less than posh and chic and it smells like fresh lavender and mint. Far from the overbearing fumes you usually encounter in a nail salon. Next up, I had the technician Amanda for my manicure. I'm not a fan of acrylic tips because my previous experiences had always been subpar and my nails never faired well. Amanda removed ALL doubt and hesitation. She is skilled, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. She answered all of my annoying questions and gave me a manicure fit for a queen. I am beyond pleased with my final results. Ok, on to my pedicure...the doll Cash did my pedicure and when I tell you she made love to my feet!!! Too much? Ok well listen, my feet have never experienced such love and attention. Her foot massage was heavenly and I wanted to curl up and go to sleep right after. So I think I found my new nail spot! This is a black owned nail salon in Clinton, MD. Very great atmosphere: Chic beautiful interior, amazing customer service, and overall just a friendly environment. The technicians seem to work together and get along very well, and it shows. Just be sure to make an appointment. They do take walk-ins, however, they seem to stay pretty busy. I went here for a gel fill. D performed the service and got right to work. The entire service took about an hour, but she was friendly and personable the entire time - it felt like I was only there a few minutes! She was very gentle with my hands, and paid a ton of attention to detail. She was also very neat, meaning, she didn't leave gel residue on my cuticles and under my nails like some other shops. While the price is just a tad bit more what I've paid previously (only $10 more, which I think is on par with the area), the quality and experience is well worth it. I'll start with the positive. I was given a same day appointment. The receptionist was nice and professional. There was no wait when I arrived. I had great conversation with Sarah while she did my nails. My pedicure turned out nice. Now for the bad. Sarah told me her specialty was sculpting dramatic nails. I should have taken that as a cue that she doesn't do short natural nails. She used an electric file to remove the old gel polish. My nail beds were so thin and red after. I saw that the polish was thin and my nails looked flat and awkward. I brought this to her attention, she said that, that was my natural nail. I live with my nails, I know what they look like. Anyway when I got in the sunlight I was mortified. My nails looked terrible. I didn't go back in because they were so thin and sore, I cant imagine how they could be fixed. One week later my nails started to break in the middle of the nail bed. Something as simple as showering causes them the bend and tare. To end on a positive. First and LAST time customer. I did an internet search to find salons in my area and stumbled across this salon, Get Nailed. I called to ask what was their wait time and the person that answered asked if I could come at 4:30. Her name was Mimi. I got there exactly at 4:27 and the receptionist greeting me with a smile. She was the only bright moment during my visit. I was told that a person named D would do my mani pedi. 4:45, 5PM, 5:10 I am still waiting to get service. Finally at 5:15 D comes out and escorts me to the salon chair for my pedicure. Then she promptly tells me she is leaving and someone else would do it. Another 10 minutes goes by and a young girl, Deseray (I think that was her name) comes over. Then she leaves, then she come back, then she leaves again. I have never seen such dysfunction in a nail salon. Her skills were less then sub par. Her technique, well lets just say she had none, she did not file my nails correctly, I was told you should move the file in one direction and she was just all over the place. When she trimmed my nail bed, she was very timid and seemed unsure of what she was doing. And she does not know how to polish. Just all around a hot mess! By the time she finished it was well after 6, there were only two techs left. Misty had her purse ready to walk out the door and my nail tech completely forgot about my manicure. The Pedicure chairs were very uncomfortable. They did not lean back or recline. They were straight back seats and when I stretched my legs, they overlapped the bottom cushion. Very poor design. The whole set up was fashion forward but not very reasonable and lacked adequate space, in my opinion for the nail tech to operate. The nail stations are set up like a bar. Two semi circles tables in the middle of the floor with the nail tech inside and the customer sitting on bar like stool chairs on the outside. It just does not give the customer room to breath. I am sure my dissatisfaction was all over my face when I got to the reception desk. So before I could say anything, Mimi said I did not owe them anything for the pedicure I received. I so wanted this place to be my go to salon. I wanted to support a black owned business. Heed my words, in this case DON'T. They close at 6 and when someone come in at 5 PM for a pedicure, Mimi told her to come back the next day. So it seems they stop taking customers a whole hour before they close. TYPICAL. They just opened in March of this year, and if they keep up this kind of service they will not be in business for long. read more

Everything was great with my service. Yaya did my gel manicure and pedicure. She was friendly, very meticulous, perfect amount of small talk, and didn't rush through (it was a Sunday at 2pm). The manager on duty I think was the owner and she checked me out when I was done - friendly enough. I did notice that she was doing touch up paint which I thought should have been done before/after hours, but it was slow so whatever. I did like that I could breathe just fine and didn't smell any chemicals. Only real disappointment is the seating which I think was chosen to give the place a more contemporary look. It's pretty inside, but I want to relax when getting my nails done, sort of like a spa experience. I found that a challenge because the pedicure bench (not individual chairs) sits you straight up at a 90 degree angle without the option to recline. The massage feature is really just a pointless vibration, no kneading at all. The nail station is literally a bar with high stools - cute but not functional. Again, I found it a challenge to relax sitting up high after hiking myself up there trying not to mess up my pedicure. Yaya stood up the whole time probably because sitting on a bar stool and reaching over to do nails is not practical and would hurt her back. I'll come back in a pinch but it won't be my regular nail salon because I cannot fully relax there. NOTE: You cannot see this place if you're driving down the same side of the street that it's on. It's between PatientFirst and the firehouse, same side as the firehouse. Decent size parking lot. read more

I can't really rate this place because we were unable to be serviced as they do not serve clients under the age 13. My daughter and I always get pedicures together and we always pass this place. She begged to go to this particular salon. As a mom it is incumbent upon me to expose my daughter to high quality service and explain the different levels of customer service to her. It is unfortunate that such an aesthetically beautiful place would deny service to the younger generation. Our lesson today, every establishment has rules and regulations. To add, the employee servicing me was high as a blimp when she came in and started to service me. She was shaking and end up cutting my toenails on my right foot too low and cut into my skin. On my left foot she attempted to make it match the right but I stopped her as I didn't want 2 jacked up feet. She filed into my skin on the left foot and as she polished she continously polished my big toe because she nicked it with the uv light. My left big toenail is clumped with GEL polish now. My nail soak off/manicure included me servicing myself by popping off the only 4 nails that were on my hands to begin with because she did want me to keep soaking my hands. I stopped her from continuing with my manicure once I learned that they were charging me $35 for a soak off that didn't occur and to polish my nails clear. My daughter was satisfied with her pedicure, however her nails are different shapes sizes and lengths on both hands. None of this makes sense to me and I definitely should not have paid but I didn't want things to get ugly tonight. A $190 loss and I'll never go back to Get Nailed in Clinton MD ever again read more

I arrived for the first time for an 11:00 appointment for a mani-pedi. There was no receptionist in the waiting area. About 11:07 a young lady came of services area and asked if she could help me. After telling her I was there for an 11:00 appointment, she turned around and went back into the other room like I had never said anything. At about 11:15, I went into the other room. The young lady was doing a pedicure and another client was waiting. I asked if she was the only working, she replied yes; so I asked her what time would my 11:00 appointment be and she said about 10 minutes. She said someone had called out, but that she would to my pedicure. All the time I'm waiting with my mask on, so I told her I would wait outside. She asked if I wanted her to come get me, and I said that would be nice. As I'm going outside, another young lady rushes pass me, no greeting. Turns out she would be doing my services. So my pedicure starts at 11:37. I'm not asked which pedicure I'd like. I decided I was only going to get a pedicure, only because I was desperate; the manicure I would get elsewhere. Another client came in for my nail tech, the first young lady rudely let her know she had a client. My tech let her know (I'm assuming she was the manager) she was almost finished. She just had to polish, but she appeared to have a problem with this client having a short wait, while having no regard for my wait. The "manager/tech". So she gave her client to someone else. The dynamic and atmosphere was not friendly. However, my nail tech did a very good pedicure; and after she warmed up and was actually pleasant. But I got bad vibes from the other young lady. Like many of the other reviewers, I really wanted to like this salon and support a black owned business. Got a few mediocre mani-pedis (kept coming back since it's in a convenient location and I wanted to support a black business). However, I won't ever spend my money there again after receiving an underarm wax which left my underarms bloody and extremely irritated. I've had many waxes before and I've never had that type of pain during and afterwards. It felt like my underarms were on fire. It has been months and I contemplated about writing this review but my underarms are STILL SCARRED from that horrible wax service. I refuse to support this salon any further. I was told about this new Black owned nail salon so I decided to give it a try. I walked in on a Sunday for a pedicure & serviced right away. Very chic, cute place. I like the simply yet sophisticated decor. I loved that I didn't have to wait to be serviced. The reason for my low star rating is for 2 things: 1.) Technician - I think her name was Yaya, not sure, but she wasn't really experienced. Seems like she's still learning or training. Took her a very long time to get her gloves on, took a long time to polish my toes. Seems like she was being overly careful which took longer than usual. She was very nice though. 2.) Pedicure chairs - the Chairs are straight back chairs, they do not adjust so if you have long legs, you will have to bend your knees the entire time. For me, being 5+ months pregnant, they were ok at first, until it was time to do the callus removal & polish, My knees were almost to my belly, very uncomfortable. The chairs are like a one size fits all and that's not going to work for everyone. Overall, very nice & new salon. No strong acetone smell either which I was very delighted with. Let me start by saying that I am an essential healthcare provider who has been working seven days a week as a result of Covid 19. I am on my feet for the greater portion of my shift and was badly in need of a pedicure as my regular technician will not reopen until mid July. As a melanin rich woman I feel it is important to support the businesses of those that look me. ( It is imperative that we put our dollars back into our own communities whenever possible). Unfortunately, I cannot support this business. The general customer service was okay, however, the quality of the work was not. I do not believe that the young woman who serviced me was a licensed nail technician. She struggled quite a bit as she attempted to polish my nails. She did not follow the basic technique of polishing nails as she dipped the brush into the old and lumpy polish numerous times for each nail. I was shocked as she applied the polish in different directions. Vertically at times and horizontally at others. In my 40+ years of getting manicures and pedicures, I have never seen a professional polish this way. She had a difficult time keeping the polish on the nail and was using the nippers to clean the excess polish off of my skin. Additionally, she kept pulling cotton and pieces of the brush off of my polished nails. I told her that it was not smooth at all. Under the nail was not cleaned well either as dead skin remained until I cleaned it out at home. The finished product was a lumpy mess that resembled something a tweenager would do when when bored. My " technician" even said " I want to take a picture because I am building a portfolio which confirmed my speculation that she may be under an apprenticeship ,but, certainly not a professionally licensed nail technician. Aside from the shoddy workmanship, I observed the owner servicing whom I would presume to be her significant other with her mask pulled down below her mouth and he was not wearing one at all. All patrons and employees in the state of Maryland are required to wear a mask in all businesses. I was shocked as I truly couldn't believe my eyes. Upon leaving I informed the owner that the work was horrible and that I do not believe the young lady is a licensed technician. Her response is " she is new here" and that my nails look fine to her. Today I visited Get Nailed for a simple polish change, when I arrived my toes already had no polish and were shaped. The receptionist advised that a polish change was $15 (anywhere else that service is $7), stating they call it a half of pedicure. I was on my way out, then I asked was this a black owned business, she responded yes, so I said I'll give it a try. The polish job was very lackluster. I asked for 3 coats because the polish looked streaky and uneven and the tech advised 3 coats would be too many. Once I got home at took a closer look In better light, it's very deem in the salon, I noticed imperfections. I went back to have it corrected, the tech attempted to polish over the mistake and I asked to have the polish removed and redone. Went here around the time they first opened and made a phone appointment for my friend and I. First off if you call and make an appointment at the beginning of the week I would expect that when I show up on time for the appointment you remember I made one. When I told them about my friends appointment they asked what she wanted again and said they couldn't accommodate her for a facial but could do a pedicure. I am very understanding of new businesses but I think that should at least be the easiest thing that could be done. So once explaining, I guess they realized I made an appointment...they told me at the time there was only one nail tech. So whatever I wanted, had to be kind of simple and I couldn't soak off because she had to leave in a few. I decided to just get my nails done and told her what I wanted, honestly they were just ok and the whole experience just seemed rushed. She seemed stressed out because they didn't have enough employees at the time. Hopefully they are better now, but I made that my last time there. I was very happy to see a Black owned nail spa in my area. The place is beautifully decorated and staff are very courteous and professional. I have been going to Yaya and she does a fantastic job. I like the fact that she listens to how I want my nails and does not get upset when I ask her questions. I gave 4 stars because the pedicure chairs are not comfortable and as an older person the chairs and manicure bar set up are not comfortable. I was looking for a nail salon in the Clinton, MD area and found Get Nailed. I walked into a friendly and professional environment. I was looking for service at 12:00 pm, but the next available time was 2:00 pm. I decided to leave and come back at 2:00 pm. When I arrived I greeted and taken immediately for my services. My technician Misty was very professional and did a great job. I highly recommend this salon and have already made my next appointment in two weeks. I was so excited to get my nails done here! Living in Clinton area for almost 20 years I was very happy to hear of a new salon in the area. Normally, I travel pretty far to get my nails done as I'm somewhat particular. I have my normal nail technician that I go to but she is out Arlington, VA and this was a emergency. Two of my nails had chipped and I had an event the next day. So I called explained to the receptionist what I wanted (SNS removal and gel manicure) and scheduled an appointment as they strongly recommend or prefer. I have a son and made arrangements for him to be cared for while I attended my appointment. I arrive on time and was told my technician would be right with me. Fast forward to 20 mins later, I was still in the waiting area. I suggested that I start the removal process because I knew I was on a advance timeline and I had already been waiting. The receptionist went to the back to check in with the nail technician and came back and said OK we can start your removal process. I go to the back I sat in the chair and was then informed that my nails need it to be buffed before they wrap them up and begin the removal process. Fast forward to another 20 minutes later (now a total of 40 mins) I'm still waiting, my nails have not been buffed and the removal process have not started. One of the technicians noticed the disappointment on my face and asked if I was OK, I responded with well I've been waiting here for now 40 minutes and I had an appointment. She then went to go talk to the receptionist. About five minutes later (now a total of 45 minutes of me waiting) I had to leave because my parental responsibility, my son had to be picked up by a certain time. While I was really looking forward to trying this salon, I was gravely disappointed. I won't say do not ever go there but I would recommend scheduling an appointment and then call before your appointment to make sure that it will be on time or a least within a reasonable time period. read more
