Ok, even though I'm obsessed with lemon (I put it on my pizza and spaghettis) I'm still probably not their target demo. I like 100% real lemon, and my drink (the C4: green tea, lemon, honey) still had a slight essence of "artificial" flavor. I do think it's great patrons have the option to get 25% sugar/sweetener vs the full on sugar-high. My favorite thing I tasted was their matcha waffle. Yes, chef! They also have a rewards system.
Tried Happy Lemon in Katy Asian Town as it's one of the newer spots that opened up in this area heavily saturated by boba choices. Drinks were in the $6.50 range, $7+ after taxes. They focus a bit more on the fruit teas. We got the fresh passion fruit mango tea with less sugar; the drink still came out fairly sweet and was more sweet than fruity. Overall the drink is alright but without much toppings, the $7 boba drink was a bit meh for me. It tastes fairly similar to the fruit tea from Gongcha, Hella Bubble, Sharetea, etc.
Walked in on a Friday, ordered immediately with young lady. Ordered a mango yakult smoothie with 25% sugar. It was expensive $8.50 and mango boba was more jelly than boba. Chewy. Place was cool, chill.
So tasty! I'd never tried a bubble waffle before coming here, and it was delicious! The first time I tried the original waffle with the puff cream, and the second time I had the original waffle with the taro puff cream. Both are very good! I had extra taro puff cream leftover and took it home to eat with fresh watermelon...it was a great combination. Note that it does take a while to get your order if you get a waffle. I'd say no more than 10 minutes though. Their drinks look amazing too. Seating area is sparse, but they had some decent-sized tables.
Eh one of my icky pet peeves is bathrooms at food/ drink establishments...not having soap to wash hands with in the bathroom really is a big yuck for me. I already bought my drink so gotta wait for it and will be popping in my straw to the drink real carefully since I didn't have soap to wash my hands with. I wonder how the workers handling the bubble eggs and drink making stuff are being careful with their hands and keeping it clean. This is how tummy aches can happen. I normally go to Tea Top for my boba but got lazy and parked near here...so decided to give it a try ba walk behind this store.

This is Katy's best Boba shop, and one of the world's best Happy Lemons. Trust me. Would I lime to you? So if we really wanna go one step further than what we already wear to Boba places, then I should bring my date here with both of us wearing nothing but Cling-Film. I guess then it'd be renamed "Saran Wrappy Lemon." Happy Lemon is Barbi's all time fave Boba chain, and this is one of our favourite Happy Lemon locations in the world, and the reasons why are easy to define. They make their drinks perfectly, whether it's milk tea or the wonderful Blended lemon tea, and Barbi's all time fave, C2, Fresh Squeezed Lemon Black Tea. They make wonderful waffles and have beautiful decor, and perhaps best of all they have some truly amazing owners who are personable, genuine, and friendly, and make some of the best products you can find. A lot of their employees are absolutely gorgeous too, to the extent where I think they pick good looking people to work here on purpose. And when the girl some of you know and love insists on me taking her here and getting her fave Lemon Black Tea, then for me and any boys (and probably girls) in the place, it becomes Fappy Lemon. The owners are super super friendly and always made us feel at home from the first time we came here. We literally will never come to Katy without coming to this Happy Lemon for a drink, and usually for a waffle. They're located literally right across from H Mart in a great location, and hopefully will continue to be one of the most thriving Boba shops in Katy because they deserve to be. If it were in the largest city of Minnesota, it'd be Minneappy Lemon. And it'd sell sodas too. Not just small and large, but Mini Sodas. If it were in the capital of Maryland, it'd be Annappy Lemon. One of the friendliest and best quality Boba shops in the world. From their magnificent drinks to their wonderful ownership, from the lovely employees to the regional manager based in Cali who puts the midas touch (or the Lemon-Yellow touch) on all of the Lemons under his guidance, this is top notch all the way, and there's a reason that their are lines out the door on any given day of the week. Well, the reason is that the shop is so small and is take-out only, but there's another reason too! And that is, it's just so good! Be careful what you order. Some of these drinks are so sour, that when she drank them, Ronda Rousey changed her name to Ronda Sourey. We like sour drinks though, and we like Ronda too, and any girl with muscles like that, or like mine, or bigger. Or I guess for me that should read "any girl", period. Of all the chains in the world, Happy Lemon is one of the very best, and is probably my fave boba chain that originates from China. They have extremely authentic taste worldwide, reminding me of the way it's done in Hong Kong and Shanghai, and I've tried these all over the UK is well, and they were just as good there as the American versions. If you haven't tried Happy Lemon yet, get over here and try it immediately. It might change your life. Now I'm gonna finish this review and make it SNAPPY LEMON I can't write much cause I'm feeling CRAPPY LEMON If I wrote for Hallmark, I'd write all SAPPY LEMON But when we want Boba, we go to HAPPY LEMON If I was an infant, I'd wear a NAPPY LEMON Tried to bring my feelines here, but they were CATTY LEMON Hamilton likes it, says it's I'm young, hungry and SCRAPPY LEMON And the only Lemon that we want is HAPPY LEMON WHAT!
Loved the service that was provided when my daughter ordered the mango yogurt drink and was advised the drink runs sweeter. We normally cut our sugar level but for the worker to warn us ahead of time was nice. The place was nice and clean and a couple of good photo op spots. The drinks were delicious and I highly recommend it!
Happy Lemon is one of my favorite boba spots & I'm glad they've decided to have one in Houston not too long ago. This location has a 5 star rating unfortunately it's my least favorite of the 3 that they have in Houston. I've been here twice & both times it's just been average & nothing special. Here's what I ordered. * Jasmine lemon slushy- as expected it was citrusy which is understandable but subtle in terms of tea flavor. I also get that lemonade is suppose to be sour but they need to add some more sugar to balance out the sourness of the drink. This one was just pure intense acidity. Definitely was not refreshing as I thought it'll be. 2/5 * Jasmine green tea- I'm going to be very critical on this one because it's just the basic jasmine green tea, so you're suppose to taste a strong tea flavor; unfortunately it was very weak. 2/5 * Okinawa Fresh Milk- Textbook. Good amount of sweetness & tasted exactly like your ordinary brown sugar milk tea. 4/5 * Strawberry green tea- while it does taste refreshing, the tea flavor was nonexistent. I've had this at the Bellaire location several times & the green tea was strong. 2.5/5 I was informed by the manager that if I wanted more tea flavor to request it the next time which I will, but in my opinion you're suppose to have a good amount of it to begin with. Overall, service is good but the drinks were underwhelming. This location has more space so there's seating inside. The Bellaire location is more of a to go. I will give it a 4 instead of a 3 because the cashier & the manager were very nice & took time to hear my feedback. Will I come back? Yes, if I'm in the area.
Why 5 stars? Because the mango lemon slushy could not have been more refreshing. --- --- --- We initially planned to grab boba elsewhere, but after eating lunch in the same plaza, we decided to just walk over to Happy Lemon, one of approximately 14 boba places in Katy Asia Town, and we were certainly happy about this decision. We love boba tea, but most places are mostly serving up the same thing. That is not the case at Happy Lemon. While I considered ordering something more typical, I couldn't help but give into the temptation of the Top 10 sign at the counter. Many of them were interesting, but what caught my eye was the mango lemon slushy. I don't always love lemon, but I was willing to live dangerously. Great decision. This was one of the most refreshing drinks I can remember consuming. It was the absolute *perfect* mixture of tart, but sweet. Perfect. My wife ordered the Boba Milk Tea with Puff Cream. Again, something that was definitely different from the norm for her. At first, neither of us were super impressed by it. But it grew on both of us. I'd describe it as the halfway point between milk and a milkshake. We don't live nearby, but after one visit, I'm a big fan. I still don't understand how so many boba shops can survive in one plaza, but I don't ask questions. I just enjoy all the boba.
Trying to choose a place for boba in this area is overwhelming. There are so many. This one attracted us because of its name. I got the mango tea with mango boba. Little did I know there were little pieces of fresh mango at the bottom! That made this tea so much more refreshing. I did not go inside so I wouldn't be able to tell you the atmosphere. I had to stay in the car with my son. I noticed there is one closer to me, I must try that location next!
i go to happy lemon katy all the time and it seriously never gets old. i always get the strawberry shortcake smoothie, it's so good and you can actually taste the strawberry, plus it looks super cute. i'm always asking my dad to take me, and he already knows my order by heart lol. the area is really cute and has such a happy, lemony vibe. the staff are always so sweet and welcoming, it just makes the place feel extra nice to visit.
I was introduced to salted cheese after trying Happy Lemon for the first time in California back in 2018... I haven't loved anything tastier since then. Being the first in the world to create the salted cheese topper, Happy Lemon proudly boasts "often imitated, never duplicated", which stands true. Anytime I get to come out to a Happy Lemon, I always order the same thing-- the Jasmine Green Tea with Salted Cheese. Trust me, you won't regret it. There's something magical about this drink. Starting with the base of the tea itself, Happy Lemon brews delicious, quality tea you can actually taste. Next, they'll mix in the perfect cream ratio to the tea to the craft the perfect milk tea. Finally, the salted cheese topper is added to the top with a dash of matcha.
This location is new and I love the fact that we have one now in Katy! Facebook announced that they are having their grand opening BOGO event on November 27th and 28th. We tried the Original Bubble Waffle with a side of salted cheese dip and an order of Green Tea milk tea + salted Cheese. I have never had anything like the dip before, it's lightly sweetened and has a texture like whipped cream. It's definitely addictive, I'll have to try it with other flavors of waffles next time. The drink was really good. The layer of salted cheese really goes well with the green tear milk teas, pleasantly surprised. You can smell the delicious waffles when you enter those doors. It's a good place to hang out with friends and they have tables throughout. There is also bar still seating at the window. The owners and the staff are very friendly and they gave me solid recommendations from their menu. I'll definitely be back to try their other delicious waffles and dips as well as their other drink selections. I really like drink menu. They have flavors that really set themselves apart from all the other tea places in the shopping center.

This location has seating unlike the Chinatown one which I liked. The lemon green tea I got was perfect - refreshing and tasty. I think the girl at the register was new though because when I told her I wanted the lemon green tea she asked me if it was on the menu and I said yes. And she asked me what number/letter it was (B1). Other than that, had a good experience at this location. I also liked the cute little plushies in the display lemonade stand/cart. read more
Very spacious inside compared to Bellaire location. Employees were nice, resourceful and fast. Our drinks came out in timely manner and tasted great! We ordered 2 A1s. I wished I had ordered less sweet cuz the tea was a hair too sweet for me. It took a while for the waffle to be done. Super crunchy and yummy! Worth the wait. I can see why they're famous for their waffle. However, we didn't get our little lemon girl number thingy after ordering. I only see our name on the screen. But still it's super confusing to pickup order cuz not a lot of people pay attention while staff shouting out their name. read more

5/5 star milk tea! Came here to try a new boba spot and I ordered D5 BOBA MILK TEA WITH CREAM BOMB with regular sugar. Wow! This was tasty and the boba was super fresh with perfect texture. My friend and I come here at least once a week. It's a perfect spot to study and hang out with your friends. I've gotten almost everything on the menu and the drinks are consistently delicious. My favorite drinks so far are the blended lemon honey green tea and the dragonfruit lychee juice. I would also high recommend the original or matcha bubble waffle with salted cheese dipping sauce. I usually don't like bubble waffles, but the waffle here is the best combination of crunchy and chewy and the dipping sauce compliments it perfectly. Not only was my drink delicious but the employees were incredibly kind. I got the Okinawa Roasted Milk Tea with boba and it is a good classic brown sugar related milk tea. The boba has a nice chewy texture that adds texture to the drink. The tea flavor is present but I am interested in trying it out with 0% next time. I will definitely return to try another drink along with their bubble waffles. read more

When I heard Happy Lemon was coming to Katy, I was so excited! I've heard high praises and it did not disappoint during my 2 visits since their grand opening last week! Between my friends and I, we got: Lemon Yakult w Aloe (MY FAVORITE-very refreshing!) Kumquat Lemon Jasmine Green Tea (2nd Favorite) Fresh Dragonfruit Lychee Juice (pictured) Okinawa Fresh Milk w Boba (pictured) Overall, ALL the drinks I've tried have been great and service was fast! Happy Lemon is now at the top of my list of boba shops in Houston. Highly recommend these drinks: 1) Ube Milk Tea w/ Taro Puff 2) Mango Matcha Smoothie 3) Okinawa Roasted Milk Tea w/ Boba The warm bubble waffles w/ salted cheese is also really delicious and at $5.25 it's much better than the other bubble waffles in the area. What a clean and nice environment, the staff is so helpful, and my top three drinks I highly recommend are.... 1. Grapefruit Lemon Slushy comes with lychee jello and I like to add aloe (all the slushes are nice and sour) 2. Oreo Milk Tea is second best comes with smeared puff cream love getting the chunks of oreo with the milk tea and cream (a whole meal) 3. Mango Green Tea with Mango Boba! It doesn't come with sugar just mango mix so I recommend adding a scoop of kumquat juice or fresh lemon juice for that sour touch...(I just love sour drinks) And for the waffles...Chocolate or Boba Waffle with Salted Cheese!!!! read more

Hands down one of best boba places in the area. The drinks are great, the inside is cute and the staff is super friendly!! They love to hear your feedback on drinks and don't mind adjusting your drink after trying it to make sure you leave with something you like. Other places will not do that and that's one of the things that sets this place apart! They have a few unique drinks that I haven't seen at other places and would love to try eventually, but I can't stop ordering their Mango Matcha Smoothie and Green Tea with Salted Cheese Foam... they're both soso good! Their Oreo Milk Tea and waffles are good too! Their drinks are on the sweeter side (perfect for those with a sweet tooth) and I found 50% sugar with their teas and milk teas to be the perfect amount for a touch of sweetness. read more
Solid chain boba. The Katy location did not disappoint. They have very friendly staff and order came out quick despite us having a large one. They even took time to explain that the taro smoothie is a bit different than what we're used to. I appreciated the staff going the extra mile. Cute wall decor. Definitely a photo op. Not sure if it's because of COVID, but there's limited seating inside but plenty of room to stand and hangout. To the drinks: - the taro series is interesting. There are taro chunks (always a solid option) and taro balls. Taro balls are a mochi like texture which threw me off. - Okinawa series - I don't taste much if the tea so if you're into that type of boba, this would be good - Fresh milk - this was pretty good, but I wish it came in a cup where you can stick a straw in...all the sugar settled to the bottom. I had to work to get my brown sugar dissolved in. - I'm a big foam person and thought their cheese foam was on par with the other top boba places. - Ube fans rejoice! They have an ube drink. Would say it's not spectacular, but at least they have it. Definitely would come back. read more

I went to this Happy Lemon during their grand opening celebration when they offered a "Buy 1, Get 1 free" promotion. I ordered one of their best sellers called the "Freshly Squeezed Lemon Black Tea" (#C2) with added boba and 0% sugar. The drink was extremely tart and sour! Somehow, despite the intense acidity, the drink was still somehow refreshing. I would suggest adding at least 25% sugar or higher for this drink. For a grand opening, there was nothing grand in terms of their exterior and interior design. The only special addition inside was the half-arch of yellow and white balloons over a grand opening sign. There were no special activities and no apparent added effort. The store seemed like it was prepared last-minute. read more

I absolutely love this place. There are quite a few boba places in the Katy area but let me just say Happy Lemon is hands down THE BEST. I have never had a bad experience. The quality is consistent and the staff is super friendly. The bubble waffles are scrumptious. Treat yourself and get a bubble waffle with your boba.... Seriously don't skip it. This place hits just right when I want a yummy treat. And get the salted cheese on everything.... Totally worth it. Also the boba balls are always fresh and have that perfect texture. Love love love this place. I drive all the way from Humble and it's worth it. To the owner(s)- thanks for the best boba place! read more

I first tried Happy Lemon when I was in Seattle over the summer, and the locations up there had a slightly different menu. Now there are two new locations in Houston, I can try more of their drinks. I tried a dragonfruit lychee juice w/ salted cheese, and I tasted more lychee than dragonfruit. Their bubble waffles are delicious too, and I was surprised that they have a boba one too. The service is friendly and pretty fast. Next time I come back or go to their other location in Bellaire, I will try different drinks on the menu. Hopefully, my next drink will be better. read more

Been exploring the Katy Asian Town area and saw this recently opened tea shop. I stopped by today and I am VERY SURPRISED. I never expect to be blown away by tea shops especially since a lot of them use chalky powders but this was so good. I got the Passionfruit Mango Green Tea with less ice, normal sweetness 5/5. Just do it! The only thing I'll change about the next time I go is to get maybe 75% sweetness. They also have really bits of passion fruit in the drink which is awesome. Regular sweetness makes it a little too sweet but honestly, just add some water and you're fine. Again, stop by! It's definitely worth it. read more

I wanted something refreshing and wanted to try out a new boba spot. Happy Lemon had a refreshing menu but it didn't pique my interest much. Sadly they didn't have one of the smoothies available so I went with Mango Matcha Smoothie with boba and a Strawberry Shortcake with boba. The mango matcha had a really delicious taste but the mango bits were a little hard. Other than that, it tasted amazing and was blended perfectly. The strawberry shortcake on the other hand, only tasted good at first and then had a terrible taste the more you drink it. It was still a really pretty drink but won't be getting it again. Their boba was amazing, it was chewy and bouncy and perfect overall. They have a spacious seating and very airy. The employees were kind and helpful when I went to order. The drinks came out quick despite the fact there were orders ahead of us. Overall, it's a solid place so I think I'll give them another try. read more

Finally new Happy Lemon! And it did not let me down for sure! Recommend boba milk tea for sure. The fresh lemon tea series surely worth a try too! (Wait for me for me, egg waffle) We've been there several times and it's always fully seated. The store was quite new and nicely decorated. When Happy Lemon is coming to Katy, I was very happy because it's close to me! I like how the drinks was made not too sweet and the drinks are perfect to drink! The original waffle is so good, it's good to dip with salted cheese and cream puff! I would get the drinks every week if I would need to! It's worth the visit. read more

We first tried Happy Lemon in San Diego and I'm so happy that they opened one in Houston! We ordered the mango matcha - so good!! Creamy and sweet. Also ordered a matcha bubble waffle with taro puff cream dipping sauce - waffle was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The dipping sauce was slightly salty and airy, which complemented the sweet waffle really well. I guess we were really enjoying our food because the manager gave us a waffle and puff cream and salted cheese on the house - all the dipping sauces were yummy and unique! read more
