I almost never write online reviews. But this is special as I just had the most extraordinary…read morecustomer service experience when booking a room and obtaining a gift card for my in-law's anniversary. I felt like everyone thinking of staying here should know about what you get when staying at this hotel. I called the Stafford 800 number on a Sunday afternoon. I reached a gentleman called Rick who was extremely pleasant on the phone and took the time to answer my questions. I needed for a gift card to be available for my in laws within a couple day's time for their stay and he offered to PERSONALLY HAND DELIVER the card to the correct hotel and place a note in their reservation to make sure they received it. I also booked the hotel stay online via the website which was easy and he called me back to assure the charges would be correct for the stay. In this difficult time, I know we are all feeling the pressures of being overworked and it is hard to go above and beyond when we are struggling to get by. However, I feel like this is one of those examples of a hard working genuinely kind individual who one customer at a time lifts a company to elite status. Thank you, Rick. And thank you Bay View Inn and Perry Inn in Petoskey, MI. You have made my inlaw's anniversary one to remember.

Wow!!!!! We definitely stayed at the right place! This hotel was built back in 1899 and has done a…read moregreat job at keeping it old school charm. There are only 75 rooms total. It's the only hotel located in the downtown Petoskey area and you can literally walk everywhere. There are two restaurant/bars within the hotel. We enjoyed starting our days at the HO Rose restaurant for breakfast and mimosa. We finished each day at the Noggin located in the basement of the hotel. There are several options for rooms including ones with balconies. The views were amazing and we enjoyed being able to walk down by the water. There is even a "Perry House" that you can rent. I'm sure that is not cheap but looked really great. They did everything right with this hotel. We were treated like royalty and really enjoyed our stay. I would absolutely come back!! We weren't here long enough!! Petoskey is definitely gorgeous and I absolutely will be visiting again this summer. Just a note, there is no refrigerator or microwave in the rooms and the hotel is relatively noisy. It's old so the floors creak. If there is a wedding going on (which there was) the music can be heard on all floors. There were noise machines in the room to help with this but if you're sensitive to that you may want to stay elsewhere. It was so worth it because the experience can't be duplicated!

We had a great weekend at Crooked River Lodge and it was so nice to be able to bring our dog with…read moreus! The hotel is so nice yet rustic inside, really a log cabin style feeling. When we arrived in the evening, the inside fireplace and outside fire pit were both burning. Sitting by the fire outside was so peaceful, keeping warm and looking at the stars while enjoying complimentary beverages- they always have tables in the lobby stocked with water, iced tea, coffee, and hot water for tea or cocoa. Our room was nice, nothing crazy luxurious but spacious and well appointed. The king bed was comfy and the shower pressure was better than at home! My dog loved the little patio space looking out onto the back lawn. I saw reviews talking up the breakfast- it was fine, good to great if you managed your expectations. There were 2 hot food options and the rest was a regular continental breakfast spread, albeit lots of options. Like one morning they had a French toast bake and scrambled eggs. But it's not a made to order diner or omlette bar or something. Still good and plenty filling for us so I'm not casting this as a negative at all. The grounds are nice as well but the nature trail was a bit muddy- but it was early May after some rain! We'd love to come back, as a weekend wasn't enough time to explore all the places nearby that we wanted. Also shout out to the staff who found my sleeping eye mask in the room after we checked out and called me to let me know (and offered to hold it or mail it!)

Nois, seems to be little sound insulation between rooms. Room above started pounding across floor…read moreabove at 5:30 AM, not our chosen time to wake. No longer serves a protein (no eggs or meat, no breakfast sandwich) with the so called hot breakfast so we should have paid the extra for a hotel that does and saved our thirty dollar a day breakfast cost. They do have kayaks for use but no canoes.
