Very accommodating, helpful, friendly and quick to respond to our needs. It is close to grocery and shops. I will stay there again if available. We were in Cabin Four. It has a large screened in porch with a large dining table and chairs as well as two rocking chairs. I don't think you would be disappointed choosing Reeds on the River!

We love that we can use the kayaks and the canoe or the pontoon, and watching the bald eagles that live on the lake is majestic to say the very least. Our kids love the playground on site and we love the friendly atmosphere while we're here! It's the perfect distance from Mackinaw and we love driving into the city for the day. Our summers won't be complete without a stay here. Be sure to call and book early, it fills up fast and the regulars get their spots booked an entire year in advance.

I guess this was suppose to add support to the outdated furnishings. The refrigerator had rust all over it. Talk about losing your appetite. The shower was the size of a port a pot. The screens did not fit properly. And when you are surrounded by trees and water, and you don't have properly fitting screens, you'll have insects and bugs. Speaking of which, the light in our kitchen was covered with bugs that gravitated to the fixture. Then at night when we turned the bedroom light on and bugs came out onto the bed that was it. My wife said "Time to go".

We had beds for eight and a fold-out bed for two more. The location is secluded, but within 10 minutes of Harbor Springs and 15 minutes of Petoskey. We went in spring, but there are two ski resorts within five minutes. The pool facilities are nice. There's an indoor option for when the weather is too cold. The walls are fairly thin. We could hear much of the activity in the unit next to us, and they weren't noisy people.

My kids and I stayed here for a family reunion (of approx. 85 people) recently. The property…read moreitself is nice--clean, very quiet, far enough away from city lights that you can see lots of stars at night--but I had a couple of issues with the cabin we stayed in. The back deck was accessible from my bedroom on the main floor, but the door to the deck was stuck so badly at the top that I had to use all my strength to yank it open. I was afraid I would end up breaking the glass in the door, so I left it alone after that. Secondly (and I suppose this is minor), the shower head in the main floor bathroom was one that shot out thin streams of water quite forcefully. After a while it felt like needles on my skin. Not pleasant. Oh--and if you want something more than barely-adequate hotel-style linens and towels, you'll have to bring your own. Overall, though, it was a nice getaway at a reasonable price, and great for a family reunion.
