Overlooking a garden on the property.

We ate at Noggins Pub (Stafford Hotel) and we stayed at Stafford Bayview B&B. July 2024. We enjoyed nearly a week at their B&B and I must say, it was outstanding. If you are looking for a true B&B experience this is it. A few comments: The entire staff was very attentive, polite and professional. The B&B was spotless. I mean spotless! From the moment you parked the car, to the expansive front porch, the guest registration area, common areas, and sitting room on the second floor was very very clean. The dining area you are met by George who is a delight in the morning and the waitstaff does the rest. Again, very attentive, professional, and polite. Food, we mostly ate breakfast and lunch, but our experience was superb. Rooms, everything worked, and again very clean. No complaints. In summary, as Chicago guests that travel frequently I would rate the Stafford Hotel and our B&B (Stafford Bayview Inn) a 5 out of 5. Keep in mind, we wanted a B&B so if you want to escape the big city and enjoy a snippet of the past, I highly recommend the Bayview Inn. Tom and Liz

My family and I come here often and we always enjoy our stay. They frequently have promos which give guests coupons to use at the shops downtown and sometimes cover food. They're very personable and the hotel is lovely. Tip: try the cherry butter at breakfast.

This hotel is cute and old fashioned. The staff is very friendly. The layout is confusing and you can get lost on the stairs. The rooms were outdated. No fridge or microwave. Loose headboard. No working thermostat to control air/heat. The view of the water is beautiful and the hotel is in a great location relevant to the downtown Petosky area.

Can only select a 1/2 breakfast in the dark grey box until you want to pay extra.

Overpriced and under-delivered. Expensive for a place Up North. We decided to spend the money based on a glowing recommendation ... At check in, we were told breakfast is until 11 ... it's not: 1030. We found out AFTER we checked out that there is complimentary tea and coffee in the gift shop. Would have been NICE to know; especially since the coffee in the restaurant was AWFUL. The hotel was NOT busy yet the service was ... lacking. I guess they make money on weddings in the summer bc we were left all alone on the porch trying to finish breakfast while the staff got ready for a wedding. The breakfast that was "included" for a $300+/n stay was actually 1/2 of a breakfast and the continental breakfast at the Holiday Inn is better. The location is great but ... everything else was lacking. Recommend : $25 bfast voucher be available for use anywhere on property ... veranda, pub, gift shop, etc. Or ... save that $25 and go get a good breakfast at Roast and Toast down the street.

This historic hotel was lovely, antique rooms made for a nostalgic get away. The location is right downtown for easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. It's about a three minute walk to the walk/bike trail which wraps around the bay and extends to the light house. We had cocktails on their patio area which overlooks the bay undisturbed by traffic. I loved our breakfast on the porch of their Rose Room restaurant. Staff was efficient and helpful. They supplied a small fridge upon request for our room. We stayed on a cooler early summer weekend so air conditioning wasn't a necessity. However there wasn't AC in our room, just heat. This is something I would call ahead of time to confirm when booking in the future.

The landscape throughout the grounds is lovely!

Absolutely a jewel!!!!! I was a guest at the Perry for a week while attending Booktopia in Petosky. The staff was accomodating, the hotel charming and beautifully maintained, the location convenient and the food was terrific. I would highly recommend to all. The rooms are a tad bit small, but not confining. What you lose in space you get back in view and ambiance.

Comfortable and Quaint with a Great View We came to Petoskey almost specifically to stay at the Perry given neither of us had stayed there before. My first impression was a good one. The staff at check-in, and checkout, was friendly, fast and efficient. The room keys are actual keys, which I loved. The room, while a little on the small side, was very clean. Along with our bayside view (for a little extra $), it was really comfortable and quaint, and had a breathtaking view of the lake with its whitecaps crashing the nearby pier. It also had a wall hung flat screen on a telescoping mount, a small desk/vanity and a balcony with chairs. The hotel is historic and feels a little weathered but not in a bad way. That said, there's a lot of art on the wall and it all seemed to be for sale or just tagged with an index card?! It felt slightly tacky...but what do I know. Don't get me wrong this place was charming but it's also spendy. Even at off-season it was a couple bills a night. I will say that the location is as good as it could get if you're looking to stay downtown, near the water and in walking distance to, well, everything! The only hiccup we ran into was our shower backing up consistently. I'm not sure it was a plumbing issue as much as the grade of the shower floor but regardless it was an annoyance. On that topic though...I had completed the survey emailed to me by the hotel and noted the shower problem. The manager was kind enough to email me back a very nice message apologizing, and also refunded some of the expense of the room. I was impressed with the customer service and the cordiality to say the least. Thank you, Reginald! When we checked-in we were given $25 worth of credit vouchers for breakfast which was a nice touch....but, we slept in both days so no breakfast for us. I've heard good things though! The Noggin Room was fun too...think local pub. We didn't spend a lot of time there but it's nice that it's on the grounds if you want a night cap. All in all it was a nice stay if a little pricey. Would I stay there again?....likely, but I'd search for a deal, I think.

    MOLD

Horrible and overpriced. Unless I paid extra for years of grime and historical mold. Can't control temperature in own room, no fan in bathroom and mold in every corner. Paint chipping, bathroom fixtures falling off and just overall dirty. Yet they charge an arm and leg for this experience. Beware! Only giving 1 star because staff was nice

The hotel is located in a village with dining, shops, real estate, and more. Ample parking, clean beaches, and amazing views of the Marina. The Inn at Bay Harbor has been a Marriott property for 22 years. As of 11/1, it will be a Boyne Resort. I don't think the change of ownership will impact the charm. If anything, it will improve things by being a Michigan based company. Love that this hotel has so many room variations - typical rooms to cottages. Outside of the Inn, there are home rentals through Bay Harbor's website too. This hotel is open year round and there is so much to do. Love high tea! Makes me feel like a princess while adulting. My husband and I plan to come up again this summer. Such a special place! Check out the bay harbor website for events if you're interested in their art festival, hot balloon festival, or any festive activities. They have so much going on! Definitely great for a romantic weekend or coming up with the family. The hotel isn't dog friendly but there are rentals that will allow dogs in the village.

We normally don't spend a lot of time in the living area part of a suite, but here, the furniture was so comfortable that we lounged watching shows and eating charcuterie! The addition of an ottoman was key. Also, the long piece of furniture under the TV that held two open carry-ons was great! The back space with the bench swing and Adirondack chairs overlooking a pond was lovely. The bed and pillows were very comfortable (I usually have to ask for extra pillows, but didn't need to here). We appreciated the outlets on the bedside lamps. However, we struggled a little getting the temperature right without having the A/C blowing so loudly. It was hard to hear the TV or sleep with how loud the system was. The walk-in shower and shampoo products were nice. The staff was lovely. I would recommend staying here, but still found it pricey for $848.96 for 2 nights. I could stay in a place in NYC for that amount! Marriott, please be fair on pricing.

This cozy hotel, nestled near Petosky and surrounded by many wineries, is the most fabulous boutique hotel. The outdoor trees are beautifully decorated and it makes you feel like you're in a hallmark movie. As we drove up, and parked we were met by an employee who knew our names and took our bags to our room. Felt like I was in Dubai getting VIP status service again. Our check-in was swift, and we were given a tour of the downstairs which had an amazing bar with a roaring fire, and free snacks and waters. It also had a small gym, and a game room containing a billiards table. Once we finally got to the room we were so shocked. The room was massive and absolutely breath taking. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the sheets were super soft. The highlight was the outdoor patio. We got a room on the first floor. The patio came enclosed with heaters so that you can go out and look out at the lake and not freeze. During Christmas they put a Christmas tree on each patio. Very romantic and festive. Service is, by far, the number one thing about this place. The hotels beauty is obvious, but it only goes so far if the service isn't there. We loved every minute of our stay. The bartender in the evening was the best. We sat there for hours and just chatted. He was very personable, and fun to talk to. We also wanted to use the jacuzzi, so the front desk employee went, and opened it up for us even though it was freezing outside. They also let us stay 20 minutes past the hours of operation without question. There were many more things we didn't do like snow shoeing on the lake, but they offer many things for kids, families, or outdoor enthusiasts. Overall, this was probably one of the best vacations we have had. From the service to Amenities they checked every box. If you are looking for romance, or even a family get away then this place is a must. We also took advantage of the wineries in the area. They are still open in the winter. I wish I would of snapped more photos for all to see, but I was wanted to live in the moment and not technology. This place has won many awards as a top wine hotel in the country. Just make sure you call way in advance for reservations. They book up extremely early. We booked a year in advance.
