I'll preface this review with the fact that I work in an animal care-related field and have…read moreexperience working with dogs and cats on a regular basis. I bought the extra large softpaws product to protect hardwood floors from my boyfriend's 110lb black lab mix. As far as the product itself, it does work well; the product was fairly easy to apply to my foot-shy friend with a little help from my boyfriend. They stayed on very well and started falling off after a month or so. They were very tough and did withstand the wear and tear a big dog like that could put on them, so I'll give them that. I removed the rest of the remaining caps this past weekend (after about 3 months of them being on; the average length of leaving them on per the website if I remember correctly) and was pretty horrified at what I found: Underneath every one of the nail caps, the poor dog had developed "thrush," a bacterial infection commonly seen (and smelled!) in horse feet not exposed to adequate amounts of air and dry ground. They all smelled terrible, had a soft black discharge where the nail bed should be, and weakening and flaking of the keratin portion of the nail. This product may work well for cats, and maybe small dogs, but I don't think I would recommend it for large dogs. I won't be putting these back on my dog for fear of the infection spreading upward and into the toes. Maybe I'm not applying them correctly, or leaving them on too long, but I don't want to chance it with my big guy. Instead, he'll be getting a very short pedicure when he's sedated for a routine dental cleaning in the next month or so.

Softpaws are great! They come in a variety of colors or clear. You can get them at local pet stores…read more(usually only clear), or order online. We found that other sites have cheaper deals than the softpaw.com site. Ebay is good, but sometimes has poor shipping. We used softpaws for about 1 year on our two cats and it stopped the clawing for about a year. Now that we moved into a new apartment the cats have started clawing again so we're going to start them on them again! Just in time for Halloween, we're going to get orange!

Key points: -No water for over 6 hrs…read more-Bloody toes, nicks everywhere -Surprise additional fees -Incapable of grooming dogs with undercoats -Don't care about your dog, just money I'll start off by saying the owners license plate says Cha Chng (cha ching). Before coming, I'd suggest selling a kidney first. They only care about your money and not your pet. I was originally told it would be $120 for two baths, sanitary trims, and nails. I go in and they laid out a million additional fees and stated that they'd have to shave them because their undercoat was shedding out.. Not a big deal, I agreed to that. After they spent over 6 hrs there, I went to pick them up and was charged a bunch of additional fees for "behavioral issues". I asked what happened and they said one was anxious and moving around. I've been getting both dogs groomed regularly for 5 years and have always asked how they do. They have all told me that they were absolutely great but one gets anxious when separated. I told them that up front and they stated that they'd keep them together. When I showed up, they were both tied to a wall in separate rooms... I wonder why he was anxious? Then I get home and see that their toes are all bloody and chopped off. They also had nicks everywhere from the shears. After being there over 6 hrs, they got home and downed water so I'm sure they didn't have any ALL DAY. There wasnt any in the kennels or the wall that they were tied to. My dogs were also shaking like they were terrified when I picked them up. My dogs are very well behaved so I'd hate to see what they charge others who may not be. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Renee for a couple of years and couldn't wait to train with her…read moreonce I got my dream puppy, which finally happened this year! She has been a warm source of encouragement and support throughout the puppy raising process. Most recently we trained with her in preparation for taking the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test which my puppy then passed with flying colors. It's such a relief to have someone knowledgeable, experienced, and competent to help us reach our training goals. Renee has also been wonderfully understanding of my disability and willing to accommodate and adapt the training sessions as needed. Looking forward to training with her for years to come!

From our very first session, it was clear that Renee has a remarkable talent for connecting with dogs and understanding their unique personalities. Renee Cardoza utilized positive reinforcement techniques that made learning enjoyable for our pup and we saw remarkable progress in a very short period of time. Not only did our pup master essential commands and manners, he also became more confident and socialized. Renee provided us with valuable tips, both during our training sessions and in a follow up weekly email that included a review of our session, a review of the strategies for our "homework", and video links to illustrate the data's lesson. Impressive! Renee has empowered us to further the learning at home. We highly recommend Renee to anyone looking for a skilled and compassionate dog trainer!

Well, Michelle, you got a one-star review from me this morning, because I really needed you today…read moreand I called and you didn't answer. I got sent to a robot voice who told me your voice mail box had not been set up. How do you expect to be in business for yourself when this is what happens when we try to call you? REVISION: Michelle responded quickly to my one-star review and I want to change that to a four-star review, because everything I've read sounds like she's amazing and wonderful, and she responded to my complaint very quickly. I'm sure I'll give her that fifth star as soon as I get a chance to ride with her. Michelle, I apologize for being cranky. I was in a car accident a few months ago and have a herniated disc in my neck, and two pinched nerves with bulging discs in my back, plus I twisted my knee a couple of days ago on top of that. So I've been in a lot of pain and was really hurting and stressed out. This is going to be a long story, but I want you to understand there were some serious extenuating circumstances to my rude review. I was meeting some prior very special students of mine from Bakersfield, who I rarely get to see, and who had taken the train to visit me at the Renaissance Faire. They were only going to be here for a little while, as they were taking the train back home at 2:30 pm, so I was REALLY struggling to get ready to meet them (it's really hard to get dressed quickly when you're in all of this pain ). Then I tried to get in my car and I realized my knee had gotten so swollen I couldn't get it to bend enough to do that. So then I was really freaked out. I have a wonderful private driver I use now and then when my car is in the shop or I have to go to the train station, and I called him but he was on an out-of-town pick-up and couldn't get to me quickly. So I tried three more people and was really frustrated that no one answered their phone. So that's the state of mind I was in Michelle, when I wrote that review, and I apologize and thank you for your quick response. I'm looking forward to doing business with you, and I promise you I'm not a cranky old lady. Cianne ~
