I posted before and after pictures for reference on how my 7 month old Australian Shepard looked. It was my 3rd time taking him here, and never had issues the first 2. Yes it's a long wait, but most groomers are. I took my boy Queso on Friday 5/10 and explained what I wanted. I said, absolutely no shave down because Aussies shouldn't be without their coat. The lady took notes and said something around the lines like " short, but not too short to mess up the coat". I was happy she understood the importance. When I picked him up at 1:00 pm, as soon as I walked in and before even seeing my dog....The lady said she wouldn't charge me and apologized for having accidentally shaved him completely. She said she wasn't fully paying attention to my instructions and "should've called me" but of course didn't. I was more sad than angry because my doggo loves to be out in the park and around our yard but now we have to be careful he doesn't get sunburned. I will no longer be coming here, but if you take your pup, perhaps stick around to be sure they get it right. read more

I've taken my 2 dogs here for the past 6 months with no issues. As far as the grooming, I have no complaints. They always did a good job. They did keep my dogs for over 4 hours each appointment, but I believe my dogs were treated well while there. My complaint is customer service oriented. I had an appointment, which I made 6 weeks prior. Work and life happened, and the appointment skipped my mind. I received a call from, who I guess was the owner, 20 mins after my appointment time. She was not happy and reminded me that I had an appointment. I apologized profusely and asked if it was to late to bring them in or reschedule. She chuckled at me and said "It's way to late to bring them in and we don't accept clients who don't call about their appointments." I was taken aback at her smugness and lack of regard for my apology and explanation. Keep in mind, I've never missed an appointment. On top of that, I've always tipped her very well. I was disgusted by the way I was treated. I was judged and dropped by this groomer with absolutely zero hesitation. I know they have a business to run, and I would totally understand if I had missed prior appointments. But that wasn't the case. If, for any reason, it's a possibility that you could forget about your appointment, I do not recommend Groomindales. They don't care. You will get a phone call, where you are belittled, and treated like you missed the appointment on purpose. And then they will drop your pets as clients. Horrible customer service and the owner/manager obviously thinks a-lot of herself. If I could give them less stars, I would. read more

it was our first time taking our two shih tzus (ages 16 and 1) and our Pomeranian to Groomingdales yesterday and I have to say our dogs haven't looked this good in a long time. The service was amazing. The groomer payed attention to detail, my dogs were comfortable and she called me once the plan changed to make sure I was okay with it before doing anything different. I will definitely be a long time customer. I highly recommend them. read more

I would not return here. I brought my dog here for a wash and a nail clip and I was disappointed. I was told 1-2 hours on the phone and returned 2 hours after I dropped off my dog. I had not been called so I wanted to check on things. I was greeted by a woman who seemed like the owner or manager and I asked her about my dog. She told me that my dog was not nearly done and explained (condescendingly) the process they use and that it normally takes around 4 hours. She also pointed to a dog and made some excuses about it being matted and the owner being picky. However, I said it was no problem, I was told 1-2 hours on the phone this morning, but I can come back. At this point, the woman began angrily questioning and berating her employee who had booked my appointment and checked me in. (That employee was very nice and did nothing wrong. She later explained that she had meant 1-2 hours just to dry her. I explained that it was no problem and that I hoped she hadn't been reprimanded for the situation). At this point she mentions something about a de-shed and I cut in and said that she didn't need that, just a wash and a nail trim. She turned to me and said "oh she's shedding" and continued to lecture me about MY dog. Finally, she said she would call me in 30 minutes. I was confused about the time inconsistencies but I decided to go run more errands until they called me. On my way out the owner continued to make excuses about how crazy the day had been and how her employee never should have said that. 45 minutes later I was called and returned to pay and leave as quickly as I could. When I arrived the manager began SEARCHING for my dog and finally had to ask the employed where she was. She brought my dog out and said "the blow dryer really scared her" and began feeding her treats. This goes on for several minutes as the woman explains (condescendingly, again) that they try to NEVER use the blow dryer and she doesn't want my dog to "hate this place because we had to rush" (which I never asked for??) When I finally pet my dog, she was damp! Not like some product had been sprayed on her, she clearly was dry on only her top coat! At this point I wanted to just pay and leave. $50 for a simple wash and nail clip on a 40 lb dog. TLDR: - terrible customer service from the owner/ manager. Rude and condescending. - dog was not dry when picked up - $50 for a nail trim and a bath (dog is 40 lbs) - owner/ manager was rude to her employees (who were very nice!) in front of me and other customers read more

I recently adopted my moms dog after my dad was unable to keep caring for her after she passed. She's usually an outside dog and her hair had become pretty matted. I called super short notice and they were able to take her in. Given that I have never had a dog before, I had no idea how much time to allot for grooming and a trip to the vet! However, they were super cool about letting me pick her up to run to the vet really quick which was really cool. I was nervous about how she would behave at the groomers since she's never been before. They explained that because she was so matted they may have to cut her hair twice. When I saw her I was shocked it was the same dog. I loved her cute little thanksgiving bows. The price was really affordable compared to the prices back home(Bay Area) so I will definitely be bringing her here to get groomed whenever I come visit my dad. Staff let me know that she was a really good dog and was really patient. Can't wait to see how she looks when her hair starts to grow out cuz I personally like her longer hair. read more

Unfortunately, I keep having bad experiences with the customer service of these dog grooming places. This time, because I was unable to make an appointment and did not call ahead of time, my dog was dropped as a client. I can understand that if this was a recurring habit, but as a first time, this is bad customer service. Poor attitude on owners part. read more

The groomers were sweet and friendly which made me feel like my dog would be safe. The owner, Rhonda, however was very rude even to her groomers. She talks behind their backs too, heard they weren't even on a payroll! I feel sorry for those who work there but because of the unprofessional owner, I will not be returning as I feel such a sour woman shouldn't be left near a dog or another human. read more

So very upsetting post I have to make right now but I'm doing it for the safety of animals. I took my shih tzu to Groomingdales on walnut here in Visalia and after returning home after my dog had been partially groomed there I found his eyes filled with blood and pockets on his eyes. My mother and myself took him immediately to the emergency vet here in Visalia where we were told that someone restrained him excessively and caused all the blood vessels in his eyes to pop and hemorrhages. The vet informed us to let the groomers know of what had happened and we called the groomers the next day that they were open and they said that they would get back to us and they did not. A week later, today, we called again and they proceeded to lie to us and say that they did not even touch his head or trim him at all when in fact they trimmed him a lot and just did not finish and I have photos that clearly show he had been cut. The broken blood vessels were not apparent when we picked him up because they started behind his eyelid and after the bubbles had popped is when blood filled his eyes. Groomingdales is completely denying responsibility and has not even apologized for what has happened. Do not take your animals there to be groomed they are extremely unprofessional and disgusting people. Below I've attached photos of matty and his eyes although it was hard to get these pictures because he was so traumatized. Thankfully he is healing but it's absolutely disgusting that Groomingdales has yet to apologize and is not even accepting what they did. read more

Very satisfied with the service I received. Not an easy task took our lab in on Friday and then our German Shepherd on Saturday. Michelle did and awesome job and our lab is not the best she is an alpha and wants to be in control, the shepherd on the other hand was a teddy bear. Allowed him to get comfortable with them and the salon before grooming him. But unfortunately things have changed and have been very disappointed for several reasons , as for 1 the past few months my babies have been getting groomed very crappie . 2 it is so upsetting to know and hear an employer talk so bad about his or her employees and X employees to their customers. .THAT IS SO VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND BAD FOR BUSINESS. I did A LOT of research on the pet salons here in town and decided to go with groomingdales and I'm so glad I did. They listened to what I wanted and did exactly that and nothing more, which included trimming my fluff ball of a dog with hand scissors not clippers! My dog had never been groomed before and he was very scared and nervous and they did an amazing job with him and made sure he felt safe and loved. And he looks absolutely amazing! (Especially considering my boyfriend tried to trim his face and it looked awful!!) They were so sweet and informative on what they did and how they did it and even showed me how I should be brushing my dog with the kind of hair he has. They now have a life long client and I will be recommending them to everyone I know who needs their dog groomed. read more

So very pleased with my experience at this location! I first took my chihuahua to pet envy but was very unhappy with the way they trimmed my puppy's nails. Not only will I never bring my dog back here but I feel awful I took him here in the first place. I made arrangements to drop him off on my way to work but nobody was even there so I had to wait half an hour for someone to show. When I picked him up later that day they told me he was awful and that they needed to muzzle him....I have a Pomeranian and he's never had a problem at any of the other grooomers I've taken him too. I noticed when I got him home that he kept licking himself on his boy bits everytime he would walk because he had RAZOR BURN so bad. His cut was awful and def not worth the money I paid for it, all I was told was it would even out as it grew out, which is crap. They were a nightmare to deal with about EVERYTHING. If this was the last groomer in Visalia I'd still go somewhere else. read more

My Yorkie/Jack Russell mix was pretty matted after I noticed she was taking dips in her water tub. Damn it Molly. I brought her in to Groomingdale's, and Lydia got all the mats out and shaved her down, and even gave her a cute banana. She looked so clean, and it only cost me $35. Score. I took my yorkie in this morning to get her groomed and she came home looking amazing! They did everything I asked. She has a narrowing trachea and I asked them to be cautious with her. They were so good with her and had her done with in 11/2 hrs. so as not to stress her out. They have comfortable little beds in each cage. I am very happy with Rhonda and her staff.
