I never write a bad review but by far this was my worst experience, came here with a friend and we both left dissatisfied. The staff harass you for a tip and they were rude from the beginning. Came here with a Groupon. The reviews were so mixed. This place looks kinda sketchy looking. Luckily there were another customers there at the same time. Pre-paying for parking is odd. Don't bother with the Groupon. They were very eager to set an immediate appointment until I mentioned the Groupon and suddenly they no availability and mysteriously, are booked days out. They kept saying that I had to call tomorrow/later/in a few days or leave my phone number and if someone cancelled then they would call me. 4 attempts later and I still can't get an appointment, no matter how far out I ask. Just to test a theory, I called to set a non-Groupon appointment. What do you know? DONT BUY THIS GROUPON!!!! Currently trying to get my money BACK from Groupon!!! They NEVER accept my Groupon when I try setting appointment I call back again without Groupon and they agreed to set an appointment right away. I have done this MULTIPLE times with the SAME result! Came here since I purchased a Groupon deal for their Signature Relaxation massage (70 min) with the additional milk foot soak. Enjoyed a recent visit to the sister place in South Pasadena , so had some expectation of the massage I was going to get (open area massage place with beds lined up), but this place did not meet any of those expectations. Highlights of my experience: - Male worker at the front didn't seem too excited that I was a Groupon holder (as it was already difficult getting an appoint nearing the expiration date) - No AC... it took me at least 5 minutes to cool off from my walk from the car - Lady masseuse started off decent, but then started talking to a coworker, then all of a sudden she switched masseuses on me mid-appoint. WTH!? - 2nd masseuse which so happened to be the male front desk worker jipped me 10 minutes so only had a 60 minute experience. - Did not get any water at the end of my massage. Just a pat on the shoulder saying I'm done and he disappear only to expect some tip at the end. Grr, this place doesn't make my feet happy at all! read more

This place is amazing. I've been here twice now, and had a $25 hour long foot reflexology massage from both Nancy & Harry. And both were completely different styles. My first experience was with Harry and he had a medium firm touch, very nice & soothing. It's great for a super relaxing fall asleep type massage. My second was with Nancy. I told the girl at the front desk that I was hoping for someone with a really strong hand & someone who knew where my acupressure points were to induce labor (I am ready to have this baby!). Nancy KILLS. My god, she is a strong lady. There were points where I was cringing because it hurt in the acupressure spots, but that is normal and how it should be if you want anything to happen. She milked the inside of my ankle to stimulate that acupressure point for a good long while, and I could feel mini contractions pulsing as she was doing it. I was so thankful. I hope I go into labor tonight. She gives a TRUE acupressure/reflexology massage. Not for the faint of heart! The orange flower lotion that they use is so nice. It smells like the first blooms of the citrus groves. The beds are large & comfy & rooms are theatre dark. I just wish it was a little cooler in there, both times have been sort of hot. And also, I wish some patrons who walk in would be respectful enough to speak quietly. Some dude was in there today talking loudly to the front desk girl about his mom's cancer and I had to hear the whole story. It was sad and not what I wanted to hear while I was trying to relax. Parking sucks. It's either $3.00 in the back lot or on the street for an hour (metered). I got a lovely ticket today for $36.00 for an expired meter.... for an hour massage, don't park in front! First of all, let me say, I have been to tons of massage places, mostly full body massage, in L.A and OC area. I came here for the Groupon $22.00, 70 mins foot massage. To begin, they had me put my feet in less than warm water, while they working on me. I was expecting the masseuse worked on my feet most of time since the Groupon said foot massage. It was more like 20 mins or so. The quality of foot massage was less then the foot massage while you go for a full body massage. Also this place is lack of privacy. You can hear the front desk talking, and people walking. Overall, it definitely less than what I had expected as I did purchase service of 70 minutes of foot massage. After 70 minutes, I felt like I did not have either foot massage or full body massage. It was totally wasting my time and my money. I wouldn't be back again for sure. My feet are happy! I don't get pedis often, but with so many holiday events coming up and a coupon from the newspaper in hand, I decided to check out Happy Feet. It's a cute little place just across the street from Paseo. There are a few 1 hr metered spots out front, and apparently some more meters in back. The employees were friendly and efficient. I enjoyed my jasmine tea and I REALLY LOVED the heated massage chair. I blissed out the entire time my toes were getting all prettied up. Prices are good and because they also do reflexology massages, the included calf and foot massage I received was very pleasant. I look forward to going back when I need to fix up my tired feet. A good value using the Groupon deal. I came here to redeem my Groupon for the 70 minute Signature Relaxation Package and Milk Foot Soak, which is normally $45 total. Unlike some other Chinese foot reflexology spas, Happy Feet had flat beds to rest upon, not chairs. I liked the fact that they used flat beds for the massage and felt the massage was more effective in getting to the acupressure points than if I were sitting upright in a chair. I also liked the atmosphere. For one thing, I didn't feel crowded by people getting a massage right next to me. The beds were spread out and when other patrons came into the shop, they were often put into a different communal room to minimize noise. The lotion used at Happy Feet was far superior to the medicinal Chinese oils at other Chinese foot spas as well. The lotion barely had a scent to it, and I didn't come out of the shop feeling gross and in need of shower. The massage started with the foot soak, and while my feet were warming up, facing up, my masseuse massaged my face, neck, arms and hands. Then he worked on my feet, legs and knees. I was wearing shorts, but I imagine if I didn't and just had my pants rolled up, I may not have been massaged on the knees. After that, he turned me over and I faced down into a headrest. The masseuse worked on my whole back, neck, shoulders, butt and thighs. This part of the massage was my favorite. He did a good job with putting hard pressure along certain points of the body. Overall, I left satisfied. I liked the strong hand of my male masseuse. I'm not one to like gentle, light touch type of massages. If you are one of those people, don't come here, or be sure to tell your masseuse in advance your preference. Now, would I really come here without a coupon deal of some sort? Probably not. Yes, Happy Feet is conveniently located in Pasadena near my house. I go to happy feet South Pas. all the time and that location is great. I decided to go to the Pasadena location last night. This place sucks!!! They put me in a room next to a Bright light, so bright. I told them I did not want the light so they closed the curtain and when the guy came in he left the curtain open. He was the worst misuse eeeevvvvveeeer! creepy little hands that did nothing. He obviously had no training in any technique of massage or foot reflexology. I laid there for 70 minutes feeling like WHEN WILL THIS END. I had the worst upper back tension and this guy never even put his hands on my upper back. All he did was use his elbows. I had a really good experience here (THANK GOD FINALLY) when I tried this place today for the first time. My massage therapist was David. He did an excellent job. He definitely went the extra mile and showed that he cared. A lot of times I leave these places feeling dissatisfied and figure that *you get what you pay for* sorta thing. Not here. I felt like I got way more than I expected. The place was no frills but typical $25 an hour style massage joint. The ambiance was relaxing enough and dark but without the creepy feel. Nothing seemed stale or run down. The place was very clean. David had a good energy and gave the perfect amount of pressure without going overboard but I also didn't feel like he was being lazy either. He definitely was NOT lazy. His massage movements had a good flow and I felt like I got the bit of no-frills relaxation that I came for. I walked in without an appointment and was given one immediately. I explained that I only wanted my hands/arms and feet done for one hour. David spent the majority of the time on my feet and threw in some facial accupressure points and a bit of head massage. He also did a bit of thai style stretching at the end and some basic compressions of the shoulders and legs. The foot action was actually really good. It did not feel like he was just "going through the motions" of his usual routine. He seemed to really put his effort into it and I was grateful for his positive nurturing energy. One little tip for first timers is to PARK IN THE PAY LOT BEHIND THE SHOP AND THEY WILL REIMBURSE YOU for parking. I didn't know this prior to visiting but was informed politely by the woman at the front desk. I thought that was really cool for next time. I will definitely be coming back to see David. I called asking for an appointment since I had a Groupon Deal and the girl said she didn't have any until next week. And since I told you I wouldn't be in town next week she was able to get me and my friend and appointment for 445 pm on a sunday. Lookimg for the place was a drag because it had a different name on groupon. And parking was horrible because when I had asked her if they validate they said "it's Sunday and the parking owner isn't there. And if he comes it's only a $25 ticket" wow she was so rude. So we asked about redeeming groupon deals and they were so confused and were about to send to South Pasadena until we showed them there address on our deal. So they wrote down our code and seated us. The place was dead. The chairs for pedicures were old and nasty. But we thought we would give it a try. We sat down and they started to work on us. When asked questions they were very rude and had short answers. So as soon as we were done we wanted to leave as soon as possible and never look back. As I'm walking out. The receptionist yells from across the room. "Excuse me are you going to tip?" And I said excuse me. "She said you didn't tip your pedicure technician and I said I was going to get cash and come back but I'm sorry I didn't know it was mandatory?" she said "it's not mandatory but I can charge a card." I asked if there was an appointment at three and the lady on the phone said yea but sounded very unsure so I offered to come in earlier and she said that three would be fine. I got there 15min early and she told me that because I was late she would have to take time off of my massage for the next appointment. I just said yes and got over it. Got there 10 minutes early but didn't get my massage until 6:00, because a very late customer came in and they honored his appointment, forcing me to wait. But to call the next hour a ''massage" might be a tad generous; the guy doing the massaging had such a light touch that I felt like I was being tickled with a feather. Seriously. I went to this place because I attended a wedding earlier in the day and was wearing high heels the entire time. My feet was super sore and since I could barely walk at this point, the only thing I was thinking about was a foot massage. The problem is I kind of have a foot massage phobia because the last time I went to a foot massage place in Westminster, the male masseuse that I had was too strong! Ohhhh okay. I got it now. My masseuse name was Jesse and let me tell you, Ask. For. Her. She is the best and took away whatever phobia I had with foot massage places. This woman knows her foot anatomy or whatever it's called. The way she massaged me was exactly what I wanted...it's slow, focused on the tight areas, and not too hard. I fell asleep in the middle of my massage and this for me is always a good indication that it was a really good session. When I woke up, my sore feet felt so good and all the tightness was gone. I could walk again! At check out, I noticed that there were cameras in the front desk focused on the massage beds...which I thought was inappropriate. When I asked about the cameras, the lady told me that they don't require you to take off your clothes during your massage. Well, neither my boyfriend nor I was informed about this! Thankfully I didn't take any of my clothes off because I thought it was just for a foot massage anyway. But my bf took his off because he wanted a full body massage. Wow. I think you guys need to tell your clients before taking them to the massage beds!!! If you are poised above the "buy" button on Groupon and you thought you would come over to Yelp before confirming your purchase, let me save you some time. DON'T DO IT. I bought the gel manicure groupon. Not only are my nails LUMPY due to the gel being so unevenly applied but it started peeling in a week. I can second another reviewer's experience of the lights not feeling clean inside and worse was the week I spent telling people "no, I did not get fake nails" ... my own nails grow well naturally but this lumpy mess made them look artificial. Did I mention they CHARGE to remove other salon gels? That's right ... I came in with a gel manicure from another salon and was uncharged to remove it. Groupon site said "confirm with your name" rather than printing the Groupon so, naturally wanting to be green and not waste paper, I tried and the person behind the counter refused me. For some reason I had no data service there so I had to go to the business next door who kindly allowed me to log onto their computer to print. The atmosphere was terrible too. The technician seemed genuinely frightened of this man who came in chatting with everybody who worked there. I almost felt like I was in a sweatshop for nail services. If only I spoke the language. When I changed my mind about the colour (because the bottle was so obviously dried out she could not get any sparkles out of it) the technician seemed really put out about having to redo one nail. My husband and I came here yesterday for the Groupon $22 massage and had the best massages ever! They wrap you up in towels and have your feet soaking in warm water while they work on you. It was like being in a warm cozy cocoon. I know a lot of people have complained about the difficulty in setting up the appointment when "Groupon" is mentioned; however, we didn't experience any difficulty (though we did book it for a Wednesday not weekend). Our masseuses, 2 older Chinese women were excellent! I lived in China and I can say that Happy Feet does a very traditional Chinese massage which not all Americans are a fan of. They will bend and stretch you, and most of it is hitting pressure points in different parts of your body. It can be a bit painful if you aren't used to it (or expecting it) but the feeling afterwards is AMAZING. I felt like I was floating on a cloud. They do not adjust their pressure to meet the client's desires, you just have to adjust your body to their touch :-) but it's so worth it. I am super ticklish in my armpits and they do not take heed you any winces or moans, so you just have to go with it. The only downside to this place is the lack of privacy and therefore anything said above is whisper is heard and can take you out of the massage experience. The massage tables are separated by a sheer screen. While my husband and I were halfway to peaceful tranquility, an obnoxious woman came back looking for her watch and totally ruined the ambiance. I agree with the other Yelper who said to dress in loose clothes. Definitely do not wear skinny jeans; you will be sorry when you are trying to roll them up to your knees! read more

I've been meaning to get rid of my Groupon that I purchase and I finally got around to it. The Pasadena chain apparently was the only one that accepts the Groupon and you have to book early mornings only. I was worried from some bad reviews but I had a really plesant experience. Front desk was nice and ushered us to the back. The massage therapist are very strong and firm and gave me the tough massage I needed. This place does focus a bit more on the feet which was also nice. I would come back here again as a paying customer with or without Groupon. read more

Like many other who have Yelped before me, I bought the Living Social Deal for the 70 minute package. Note, if you haven't been, here's a few tips to make your experience a bit more pleasurable. Enter the parking lot off of Union. They validate. Do not wear any make up as you will be getting a face massage as part of the package. It's best to plan this without immediate plans afterwards. Dress appropriately. Tank top and loose yoga pants would be ideal. Now that you are prepped. Be open minded. You'll be getting kneaded and yanked in ways that almost put you to the point of slapping the mat and crying 'Uncle', but it's all good. My technician did not offer a variety of pressures or ask if it was too much. So I thought, what the heck, it never got to the point where I couldn't take it, but teetered on the verge. The ambient music was a nice centering and calming focal point. There was no chatter going on that some of the other Yelpers have experienced. Now that I'm home, I feel great and I think my posture is better. I would buy this deal again! read more

It was $22 for a 70-Minute Signature Relaxation Package including acupressure body massage; neck, shoulder, back, head, and arm massage; and milk foot soak. I made an appointment, and when I arrived, I checked in and only had to wait about 5 minutes before I was taken into the area where I'd have my massage. Not bad at all. I came with a friend, and we were able to have areas right next to each other. We were taken to an area with two massage tables, and it was sectioned off by curtains for privacy. They play some soft, relaxing music in the background, which is soothing while you're getting massaged. The massage was good, and definitely very relaxing. This was my first body massage, so I don't really have anything to compare this to. But I was not dissatisfied at all, and wouldn't mind coming back here for another massage. read more

Friend and I went today with our Living Social coupons for the 70 min. Signature Relaxation Package. Wow, it ended up being so much more than expected. As far as location, you need to go in with the right expectations. The premises remind me of a cross between a small chinese foot massage place and thai massage place. In other words, don't expect high-end service or lots of chit chat with you -- it's just down to business. The premises is nothing fancy, but small and clean. The service area in the back is dimly lit with soft music, area is tidy and the beds are separated by thin dividers and curtains. Downside to this is that you can pretty much hear all the guests who come in and walk back and forth, so if you go, please try to keep the talking low in consideration of guests who may be there. Also, I had on skinny jeans, so I was given a wrap to put on so I could take my pants off. No being shy because you will get worked, in case you happen to be shy or not used to having your booty or hips included in a full body. I got Nancy, who started off really gentle. I asked her a couple times to up the pressure and then it was down to business. The entire massage was so thorough, from head to toe. It felt like mix of a chinese foot massage plus a full body thai/deep tissue/acupressure massage. Oh, man, when I got flipped over and Nancy went to work on my shoulders and back, it was serious! My friend said hers was too painful, so you may need to speak up and ask them to adjust the pressure to your comfort. The experience felt like so much more and longer than just an hour relaxation massage. Definitely happy with the service and will be back. Well I bought this deal for my wife and myself through living social 22 bucks for a 1 hour massage. We got an appointment right away Friday AM a day after buying through LS. So where do I start? We got there and 1 the place was pretty cold, burrrrr! Then the gentleman that was performing my massage had this stench coming from his breathe not sure how to describe it, let's just say it's a familiar smell within the Asian community when you don't have your tea, does that make sense? So for the first say 20min. I tried to ignore it but it had already ruined the experience. The rest of the massage was so-so after he got away from my nose region. During the massage I could hear a woman taking slurps from a cup from behind a curtain and the pacing back and fourth from an employee with heals on did not help! So I'll end it with you pay for what you get. My wife said her massage was fine but for me, I rather pay 60-100 for a more relaxed professional service. Btw my wife had previously bought a massage from a different deal site to heart and soul massage and that was a good experience, same setup 10-15 massage stations all in one room. Now I understand why Happy Feet Massage has such low ratings. I thought I would give this place a chance since I had been passing by it on Colorado for years, but I should have believed the yelp reviews that warned me against it. CUSTOMER SERVICE: 3/10 STARS When you first walk in there is a girl in her early 20's who doesn't smile or speak politely to you. When you ask for parking validation for the lot behind the massage parlor ($4), she says that "We don't do that anymore" with the bitchiest countenance you've ever seen in your life. I'm not sure the name of he employee but she works there at 10am on Saturdays and apparently hates her life. She walks you to the back and points and at a massage bed only separated from others by a thin hanging partition, then walks away leaving you to wonder what you should do, where you should put your stuff, who you are waiting for, etc. She did not introduce me to the man who would be massaging my entire body for the next hour. QUALITY OF MASSAGE: 5/10 STARS The massage was mediocre at best and done hurriedly. The man had headphones in his ears and kept speaking loudly in Mandarin to the female masseuse who was working on a man in the bed next to mine. The man dropped something heavy on the floor a few times which was startling and disruptive. ATMOSPHERE 4/10 STARS If you want a tranquil massage, look elsewhere because these people don't deserve your money. I definitely wish I chose a different place to spend mine. I was in dire need of a massage and went to Happy Feet with my Groupon I had purchased a month back. I was pretty excited for this great deal until I walked through the door. The place was kind of dingy and COLD! It has been pretty cold here in LA and the temperature in this space was beyond cold. All the staff were wearing jackets and yet they wanted me to take off mine? The gentleman at the front desk was extremely nice and we chatted a bit. He led me to my massage bed and I waited a good ten minutes for the masseuse to get there. When she finally showed she started by giving me the most gentle neck and scalp massage I ever felt. Her hands were freezing and her touch was like sand paper (her hands literally felt like sand paper on my skin). The entire massage felt like that...it was actually pretty horrible. I thought about getting up and leaving but tried to relax and just enjoy. That was impossible when she had me turn over and I was facing the dirty floor full of dust and dirt right below my nose. The massage was supposed to be 75 mins. per Groupon. However, mine only lasted 50 minutes. I was happy it was over and that's about it! Definitely, not going back to this place! I have been to several similar places in the past so I got everything that I expected. The massage was longer than one hour which was a great deal with my living coupon special. The "therapist" was firm and asked me several times if I was okay and if he should adjust the massage. Of course people talked and walked but I am ok with that. My one and only big complain is that it smelled like a mix of passed gas and some sort of an Asian spice during a good portion of the session. I think that its because they were eating some sort of lunch in the break room that smelled horribly. This distracted me for a good 15-20 minutes until the smell went away. My friend layling next to me had the same experience. The owners should consider this for future clients. Some aromatherapy, a candle and a scented lotion would be appreciated. read more

If I could have selected zero stars I would have... My experience with this establishment was very straight forward. I called them tonight around 8:30pm to see if they were open, the women I spoke to said 'yes' when I arrived there at 9:15pm they were closed. Both the information on the website as well as the sign hanging from the door say they close at 10pm. Frustrated, I called another 'Happy Feet' located about 2 miles away from the closed location I was at and spoke to another woman who said they were open but weren't taking any customers the remainder of the night as they were fully booked. I asked why the location I was at is closed and her reply was 'sometimes we just close' I then asked her if there is any mention of that policy on there website. 3 Groupon deals purchased. I called and called and called this place to book appointments but never got through to a live person and didn't want to leave a voicemail because the greeting sounded more like a personal mobile phone. I decided one day while the Groupon deal was still up for grabs to walk in to try to get an appointment because my body was in need of some TLC. Upon arrival, I was informed that they're fully booked for the next few weeks. Great...I had to wait for the massage but I was able to book all 3 appointments at once. Although the Groupon deal said you could only buy 2 and 1 for yourself, the lady at the front desk didn't care that I made 3 appointments all for myself. Even better! Visit #1: Linda Linda does not speak any English but she did try to communicate with me in Mandarin. She did not apply much pressure into any of the massage other than when I asked her to concentrate on my lower back. She busted out Chinese herbal oil/ointment and concentrated on that specific area with her elbows. That in itself made up for the lackluster head to toe massage. I walked out feeling brand new thanks to Linda's work on my lower back! Visit #2: Liu (male) Liu speaks English and always checked in on me to see if the pressure he applied was ok. He was a better overall masseuse in comparison to Linda and he covered all the pressure points which made this my first true reflexology experience. Liu was informed prior to my massage that I needed work on my lower back. When the time came, he used Chinese herbal oil/ointment but did not concentrate on that area as much as Linda had. The overall massage was good, but I didn't walk out feeling brand new this time. We'll see how Visit #3 goes... Tips: 1. Call in to make appointments and to check for immediate availability. 2. Parking is available directly behind the building at the $3 lot. I was informed that on weekends, they don't check whether or not you pay. First time coming here and I'll come again. We usually go to Heart and Sole;however, they didn't take walk in on Saturday and were booked for a Saturday. We came here with no expectations. They were able to get me and my husband in. Just had to wait maybe 5 minutes. I got the deep tissue and my husband got a signature massage. The masseuse was very good. Good pressure. We had parked at paseo (..my god! The parking is horrible there now with the construction). There is a sign that there's parking in the rear.. not sure if you have to pay or if it's free. read more

I had a LivingSocial deal for a one hour acupressure massage and foot soak. I went on a Saturday, parked in the $3 all day lot in the back. All of the staff were friendly. I arrived 10 minutes late, so they said they may need to cut my appointment short if the next customer came on time and apologized about it. But they ended up giving me the full hour anyway, yay! They had me lie down on the middle table in the massage area, which was dark and quiet, other than the music playing and the vocal couple getting massages in the adjacent area. You can hear everything that other people say, and people walking around, which was a little distracting to me but ok. My masseuse, Ni, was very nice and did a great job. He used a lot of pressure, which I like, and asked several times to make sure it was ok. He found all of my sore areas and knots and spent extra time working on them. Their regular prices are reasonable, so I plan to go back! I came in with a groupon, I called and asked for an appointment at 4pm and she had me come in at 4:30, perfect. The place is called Salon du Mei but it's actually two mani tables at the entrance of Happy Feet. I walk in receptionist wasn't the most personable, I showed her my groupon, she said it'd be an extra $5 to take off my gel from another salon (I moved here from Claremont) whatever, no big deal. I sat down and a gentleman started the polish removal. He was awesome, very gentle, very detailed and didn't damage my nails by scrapping. He cleaned the cuticles so thoroughly,, and shaped them perfectly. I became concerned when he started the gel application because he used so much polish, I'm used to small amounts being slowly layered on but, I've only been to one salon so I figured this is his technique. Nails came out beautifully. I hope they last me 2weeks (3if I stretch) like my old salon, which I've written a 5 star review for. Will update in two weeks. read more

I bought a Groupon for this place. From what I read on Groupon, I thought it might be different from your standard Chinese foot massage place, but it wasn't. I was able to get a same day appointment on a Sunday... which was surprising... parking was pretty easy. Overall, the experience was fine, but I've experienced a lot better. It wasn't horrible, but I'd probably not come here again. I've been to many Chinese foot massage places. The best ones I have found are in the OC... believe me, worth the drive! I'd say go if you have a Groupon or another deal, but otherwise you could find a better place for the same price or cheaper. read more

Man oh man. Where do I begin. I really wanted to like this place, I really did. I had a Groupon for this massage place so I went to use it for a 60 min full body massage. I really should have read the Yelp reviews before I bought the Groupon since the Groupon seems to have great reviews for some reason. First off, the place itself is located in a really inconvenient part on Colorado. Plan on getting there early to look for street parking. Second, as soon as you walk in there is a nail salon and you're greeted by really rude staff. They act like they don't want you there. I booked my appointment for 2pm and called the day before, the guy who wrote down my name wrote a completely different name and wrote down that I wanted a massage for two people. Even though it was his mistake they made it seem like it was mine and tried to get me to leave? Luckily I saw that my number was listed in their books so I said this was my appointment slot and then they finally believed me and let me in. Already set a bad tone before the massage started. Third, the massage place is past the nail salon area. The massage area smells horrible, like wet mildew. Not sure what's going on there but it smells pretty funky and is not adding to the whole relaxing atmosphere most massage places try to create. This is personal preference but there was a "waterfall" type of sound in the massage parlor and it was incredibly distracting and just really loud! I would prefer if it were only the music playing. My masseuse was actually very nice and I understand many people who work at these establishments don't speak English but I wish there was some more effort to communicate with me. If anyone is sympathetic to non English speakers it would be me and I've been to massage places where the employees speak very little English but they point to areas of your body and ask where you're hurting so they can concentrate on that area. The massage was just basically light touching and rubbing lotion on my body, there was no pressure applied and really strange methods. I obviously still have tension in my problem areas and I don't feel like anything was done for me. One thing I found very strange about her was how she was rushing me to leave, I wanted to use the restroom and take some time getting my shoes on but it seemed like she was standing there waiting for me to tip her. I tipped her because I would never skimp out on a tip but I found that kind of weird and it rubbed me the wrong way. Lastly, the entire concept of their massage space is very awkward and uncomfortable. They don't have individualized rooms (which, again I understand) so each section is divided with a sheer curtain. You're literally not even two feet away from the other customers. You hear all their moans and demands they make to these masseuses and it creates a really jarring environment. Something really off putting that happened was when a new customer came in, and started speaking at FULL VOLUME about what she wanted and kept shouting at her masseuse. She must have been an older lady or was short of hearing but my god, that was one of the most inconsiderate things I've ever seen anyone do. That isn't this establishment's fault but again, the lack of privacy at this place can open you up to unpleasant situations like that. Overall, I would not come back here. I think you basically get what you pay for and I wish I could've given them more stars but I feel as if I'm being really generous. I'll stick to my usual go to place in Silver Lake, the Delight Day Spa. Those are some professionals. read more

My friend and I went today to use our groupon deal. When we walked in we were a little shocked, the photograph on the website is misleading. The website photo looks very contemporay but actually looks like an out-dated Chinatown massage parlor and it smelled like wet dog. The front desk girls were very nice though. When taken to the back it was dark and quite with the sound of water fountains and light music, the message beds were very comfortable and tidy. The ladies giving us the massages were very nice and did a good job but they would talk to eachother which is very distracting. My friend said her massage was a little painfull, mine was great and I was pleasantly surprised. What I would like to see changed there is a more welcoming reception area. A cleaner or refreshing scent and no talking while giving massages. I will go back. I found I did walk out feeling better than when I came in and my friend said the same thing. read more

Best massage ever by John. Had the neck and shoulder massage for 55 minutes. I've never felt so relaxed after. He knew i had a headache without my mentioning it. Worked every muscle thoroughly, including the face. Two things to know: no private rooms & you keep your clothes on, so dress comfortably. They do mani pedis in the front and the back is where the magic happens. They also have a stamp card. Buy 9 get 10th free. Seriously, this is worth the trip to increasingly mediocre old town Pasadena. My headache is gone (which is a miracle since drugs barely subside it), my body is relaxed, my face has better color and i just feel great. read more

Stopped coming here because found something closer to home. Well happened to be in Pasadena so decided to go get some reflexology. I'm sorry to say that it is not as good as before. My friend and I decided to walk to grab some crepe and along the way from our dinner, we decided to get a foot massage. This place was clean, quiet and the foot and the neck and shoulder massage was wonderful! Great deal for $40 for 30 minutes of the neck and shoulder massage and 40 minutes of the foot massage. Parking...on the street. Customer service...great. Prices..reasonable. My feet were definitely happy after the massage. Will definitely return! read more
