Amazing Açaí bowls
sofia d.

If your looking for a sweet or savory açaí/poke bowl this is the place. The portions are the perfect size and the toppings and smoothies tasted super fresh. I'll be going back there again for sure.

Plastic found in two bowls this am!

Dangerous , rude and as 20 year residents , very disappointing - attached is a photo of a piece of plastic found In 2 bowls we bought this am! When we showed them the first one they first remade the bowl but the second one had another piece of plastic - when we showed it to them the second time they keep serving other people from the same batch! Don't ever go here , they don't care about safety and just wanted us to leave so other customers wouldn't know about itIMG_3770.JPG

Delicious, fresh and refreshing. The perfect afternoon stop, especially on a really hot day. Seats are available both outside and in.

The smoothies are great, the acai bowls are great, but the Spicy Ahi Poke bowl is utterly incredible. Do yourself a favor!

Naturally, our post-dinner walk turned into a search for something sweet, and that's when we stumbled upon Sift Bake Shop. Oh, hello there! We opened the door and immediately knew we'd found our dessert destination. The bakery was bright, welcoming and absolutely adorable, with display cases FULL of beautiful baked goods. I started smiling from ear to ear before we'd even gotten close enough to properly inspect everything. And then I saw what was inside those cases. Cookies. Cakes. Pastries. So many beautiful little creations practically begging me to take them home. Suddenly, we had a problem. I wanted everything. After several minutes of me staring lovingly at the desserts and attempting to make what felt like an impossible decision, Adventure Buddy gently reminded me that we were not, in fact, purchasing the entire bakery. RUDE. But admittedly, he had a point. I finally settled on the Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookie ($4.50), featuring two peanut butter cookies with peanut butter frosting sandwiched between them. Adventure Buddy selected the Opera Cake ($9.45), made with espresso-soaked almond sponge cake, chocolate ganache, coffee and hazelnut mousse. We ordered everything to go so we could take our treasures back to the hotel and enjoy a proper sweet-tooth nightcap. And THAT was an excellent decision. First up, my peanut butter sandwich cookie. As someone whose personality is approximately 63.8% peanut butter, I consider myself qualified to evaluate this particular dessert. IT. WAS. FANTASTIC. The cookies were wonderfully soft and chewy, with what seemed like a little oat texture mixed in. The peanut butter frosting was smooth, creamy, rich and perfectly peanut buttery. Everything worked beautifully together, and I was one very happy peanut butter enthusiast. Then I tried Adventure Buddy's Opera Cake. WOWZA! The layers of different textures were incredible! The espresso-soaked almond cake, creamy mousse and rich chocolate ganache came together beautifully. And that chocolate ganache?! To die for! I'm not usually someone who gravitates toward coffee-flavored desserts, but this was absolutely worth stealing a few bites of! What made this discovery even better was learning that Sift is a family-owned, French-focused bakery operated by Pastry Chef Adam Young, with everything made from scratch in-house. They offer everything from artisan breads and breakfast pastries to sweet and savory treats, so clearly we only scratched the surface of what they're creating. For about $14, Adventure Buddy and I enjoyed two fantastic desserts and turned an ordinary evening at our hotel into a delicious little date-night finale. We stumbled upon Sift completely by accident, and I'm SO glad we did! We'll absolutely be back the next time we're adventuring in Mystic because there were approximately 47 other things in those cases that I still need to try.

They…read moretold me Bennett Shellfish is a local, family-run seafood spot and, although it isn't a traditional sit-down restaurant, it's the place to go for a fresh lobster roll. It was less than a 10-minute drive from where we were staying, and going there was the best decision! They were offering two lobster rolls for $41, and they were worth every penny. Each roll was generously filled with large chunks of fresh lobster, a little diced celery, and just the right amount of mayo. They weren't overly dressed or packed with unnecessary fillers--the lobster was definitely the star. One roll filled me up, so I packed the second one in a cooler and brought it home to my dad in Nassau County. He loved it and gave it a 5/5 too! They also sell baked goods, and the chocolate chip cookies were delicious. Just keep in mind that there is no seating and you cannot eat on the premises because it's an active driveway. Everything is to go, but the beach is only a short drive away and makes the perfect place to enjoy your food. If you're looking for fresh local seafood, generous lobster rolls, and a no-frills hidden gem, Bennett Shellfish is absolutely worth the visit!

The only thing that I saw that you can get and eat right away is the lobster roll. But this is what you should get anyway! So fresh and simple.. not overtaken by other ingredients. The best part? The price.. it cannot be beat. Two for $40 is incredible and the quality is certainly there!

She prepared our baby boy's birth sex reveal cake. Honestly, everyone -including me- were more hyped on the cuteness of this cake then the reveal Business side: Allison was super professional and dedicated. I filled out the online form for cake request and she turned back to me shortly with her design idea that captures what I envisioned and quote. She was very quick to respond, kind and accommodating to all the request. She prepared the cake in a very short time. The delivery was good and she provided me instructions on how to cut it and store it. It was very professional, yet I left feeling very satisfied working with her and welcomed with my needs. The artist side is a whole different level of top notch effort. She captured my theme immediately. When I received the cake, I was in awe! The details of the cake is a real artist's masterpiece. I fell in love with the cuteness of the baby bees, the delicacy of the daisies, the partially darkened way to represent the realistic honey comb... Everyone admired the cake. The cake was made inside with blueberry buttercream and coconut cake. It was super tasty. She used dye for our baby boy birth sex reveal. The outside was mixture of buttercream, fondant, chocolate.

I have a lot of respect for her as a business person and as a baker (the cake was phenomenal, gorgeous, and delicious). I will definitely be using her services again for birthdays and celebrations.
