Three different types of spritz drinks on the menu in addition to wines and cocktails. Two that I tried were delicious, I can't choose a favorite. We visited for a late-ish lunch on a random weekday afternoon during off season. The restaurant was mostly empty when we went in, but had quite a few parties dining by the time we left. The decor was very cute, I felt, with a lot of attention to detail. The seating layout felt a little awkward but I presume that is largely due to the unusual shape and location of the actual building. I had the shrimp fra diavolo while my friend had the burata pizza. The fra diavolo used bucatini, which seemed good in idea but was a little unwieldy in practice. There was the tiniest bit of heat at the very end of the sauce. The shrimps were cooked tenderly, though I wish there was a little more shrimp flavor in the dish. The burata pizza was nicely charred. Overall, Alimentary Beach was a pleasant spot to dine in. read more

We came here on a Monday afternoon. The server was super pleasant. Five stars for their clam pizza!. Out of this world.Who can resist clams and guanciale on the same pie? The crust was great too. We swung by here last night during our October Montauk visit. Since a lot of businesses are closed this place was busy! We got drinks, the farmhouse salad and the sausage and peppers pizza. All was delicious and exactly what we needed. The place is charming and feels very New York on the coast. My only criticism is the drink pricing, I know it's the east coast but it hurts to pay $20 for a spritz in October. read more

WELL WORTH THE WAIT! I rarely crave pasta but this place was bussin! First of all, both pasta dishes we ordered were ON POINT! Flavorful and fresh and good sized portions. The host was really nice and courteous. The wait was ridiculous but he'd check on us and remind us we're up soon, and got us free drinks to start. The service went a long way. Our server was quick and really helpful as well. Surprisingly enjoyed this restaurant. Started with the whipped ricotta and the bread was super warm and fluffy. The main was the burrata pizza with added mortadella. I was out at The End for a night and stopped in for dinner. This is such a cute restaurant right in the heart of Montauk proper. There are rounded windows all the way around the restaurant giving it a very spacious feel. The food was really good; the pasta, the polenta and pizza were all excellent in their own right. My wife and I came in towards end of night to get dessert. We had asked if we could quickly sit and/or get a piece of tiramisu and whatever else they had. We received an attitude, were told "no" to sitting (which was fine) and then were told to "go over there and tell them you want something"... after paying "Montauk prices" for subpar dessert, we sat ourselves at an empty table and ate our "take out" dessert, which was all we wanted from the beginning. If we weren't in "vacation mode" we definitely would have said something to the manager. In a world that lacks good customer service, this moment was another clear example of the times. read more

The interior is awesome, with windows everywhere and shelves full of olive oils, sauces, and more. We have been coming to this restaurant for the past 4 years. Last summer, the pasta dishes were delicious. Pizzas are always good. Tonight we had a disappointing lasagna- dry, too much ricotta, not enough tomato, meat was lacking flavor, and the pasta was overcooked and mushy. The dish was lukewarm- maybe it was frozen prior. Hard to understand how the cooks who come and go decide not to maintain the standards that were established by the chefs Massimo Laveglia and Nicholas Baglivo when the restaurant opened. Service was great, friendly and accomodating staff and lively atmosphere. We'll be back to give it another try in the summer because we really like this place! read more

I almost didn't want to leave a bad review because the friendly waitress gifted me my glass of wine due to long wait times, but I was led astray by a carbonara review and I don't want that to be you. Let's start with the good: the pasta was fresh and the egg yolk on top was cool. Now the bad: the overall taste was very bland no- strong taste of parmesan in the sauce, the guanciale had zero crisp on it- I've never seen anything like it, and there were parsley stems mixed in with the chopped parsley. Let's start off with the ambiance. It has a great vibe to it, nice set up. The location is also perfect and holds a lot of potential for success. The staff, was incredible! The reason why I'm even giving this place any stars is because of how kind they were, fast to seat us, and the vibes of the place. The food however..... was quite terrible to say the least. For starters, the pasta was barley al dente, with little to no flavor. If we didn't get the ONE meatball as an addition, it just would've been lackluster. Thankfully, the meatball added some type of flavor but overall very upsetting. It had the perfect amount of sauce yet no flavor? Didn't make sense. And it stated it was spicy, when there was literally no spice at all. Very upsetting especially for a place that centers itself around Italian cuisine. The pizza was the worst pizza I ever had in my life. No joke. I'd rather dominoes. I love thin crust pizza, but there was no crunch to the crust... it was chewy, doughy, undercooked yet the top was charred? Not sure if the pizza is broiled somehow in this place but it was terrible. I go to Montauk from NYC for some parts of the summer, and also cook myself. My palette is a lot more advanced than what they're serving here and to say I trusted pizza anywhere but NYC it's really my fault at that point but a thin crust pizza with no crunch is just odd! Lastly, I have no pictures of this but we also ordered calamari. It was good actually better than anything else we had, the only thing I didn't like was the aftertaste of oil in your mouth, it's definitely old oil or oil they use for multiple things at once and just don't change it throughout the day. Overall, I was very upset. I paid a hefty price for underwhelming food. I never care what I spend but what I spend it ON, and I simply wouldn't do it again here. I had half for dinner with a salad and half for lunch the next day. Heated up well and stayed crispy, so win for lunch too So good. It's really pricey and good.
