Well she did leave to help and I really wish I caught her name because the manager didn't know her own employees name nor the cashiers gotta love that holiday workers work harder than the full time workers.

Most contain butylene glycol, and for some reason, my body says no! I wanted to find another foundation, but didn't know where to begin as the department stores didn't carry clean brands, and how many would I have to by from other stores trying to find the right color? I waited over 7 years. I found a NYX concealer stick I was using, but they too joined the butylene glycol band wagon. I was so happy visiting Sephora. The Arrowhead location offers more than their Kohl's locations. They will even color match you. They have devices that can look up the ingredients for you. A sweet gal color matched me, and I double-checked the ingredients before my purchase. Then she turned me onto another brand, Haus. I was sold. Loved it. Then I drove home and started feeling ill from the color matching application. The next day, I returned it luckily still unopened. Either way, they have a great return policy with a receipt. I couldn't get any assistance during my second visit as they were too busy. I came back the other day when it was quiet. They save your information with color match in their system. It made it so easy to pick up where we left off. I was able to take home a sample of the product. I wish I knew this service was available sooner. I was able to get color matched and sample the product. Just like back in the day. That sold me, and I was able to fulfill my goal of over 7 years to find a new go-to clean foundation. Yeah!!! That simple little service didn't take much time, made a sale, and a new regular customer.

The only reason I have to give 4 stars is because the other employees were rude when I initially asked for help and seemed more interested in gossiping than helping me. While looking for products an employee helped me out and she was lovely and attentive but it wasn't until I got to the checkout where the customer service went downhill. I only had three products and the girl who helped me on the register was rude and dismissive. Having shopped at Ulta for years I'm used to the routine where they ask me about the credit card and the donations etc. But I might as well been ringing myself out because I had received no such conversation or interaction with the associate originally ringing me out. I can understand it being a bad day for someone but this associate was clearly in a good mood because instead of being greeted like normal, I was instead met with staff gossiping. Being a customer I don't want to overhear an associate stating she wants to "kill herself" when another associate is scheduled for the same day. Joking or not, it's unprofessional and had she been paying attention to the routine she's supposed to follow she was busy gossiping and paying attention to everything besides going through the checkout process. As I was getting ready to pay I was having issues with my card, and what felt like less than a minute she interrupted me getting ready to pay by stating "Is there an issue" in a rude tone. As someone who currently works in retail I understand how wording and tone can go a long way when interacting with customers. The tone and attitude in which she spoken to me had completely caught me off guard so I proceeded to step aside after she had urged me to step away so she can assist the next customer. Again, I can understand if an associate is having a bad day but I couldn't help but notice a change of attitude as she helped the next customer. Thankfully the next associate that had helped me finish the transaction was much more what I expected from an Ulta associate to be like. So thank you to Trish for actually doing your job and giving decent customer service. After processing what happened I made sure to call the location and speak to the manager to ask the name of the associate who was originally helping me because she was not wearing a name tag. Jaime the manager on duty had remained calm and respectful even as I felt myself speaking emotionally over the phone and let me know the associate's name who originally helped me was Giselle. Normally I wouldn't go to such lengths to reach out to customer service but Giselle's attitude was so unjustified, that it stood out compared to the three other associates that had helped me while I was there. It can only make me wonder what made me different from the other customers who she was so happily and ready to assist. I hope this review helps management pick better associates to run registers. The checkout experience is a make or break interaction that decides if a customer will come back, and I certainly will not be back here. Giselle, do better.

After just leaving from this store and reading the reviews my experience makes sense now…read more As I walk into the store, mind you I'm a tall man that doesn't always wear designer clothes or all black so today I'm wearing my gym clothes, the older women behind the counter hones in on me and asked me what I'm looking for. Already assuming I have never been in a cosmoprof. After I say to her that I'm looking for travel shampoo and conditioner she continues to ask me if I'm a licensed professional. Now mind you for those who don't know this store is only for licensed professionals. Which I have been for 15 years. I proceed to let her know how rude it is to assume because I'm a man that I don't belong there. How do I know it's because of my appearance is because this isn't the first time it's happened. Now it's never happened right when I walk into the door but it's happened. I also know it's because of my appearance since my wife is an esthetician and she has NEVER been asked that question. Every woman I know in the industry has never been asked before either. So the idea her explanation of "I ask all new faces that walk in" is complete BS!!!!! I choose this industry because it's suppose to be a business of no judgement. Yet the store we need to go to buy our supplies judges. This women wasn't resentful or sorry for judging me. She was full of excuses and reasons why she did what she did. There's nothing more annoying than someone who can't just own their mistakes. And she was full of them. She had no interest for a suggestion to maybe treat her customers better. Again with an excuse. As I walk out of the store it reads on the door "licensed professionals only" I think to myself and look back and say to the women it even says it on the door. She either assumed I couldn't read or I was going to try and get the products without a license. Either way she thought I didn't belong. I have been to dozens and dozens of cosmoprofs. From Seattle to Phoenix and by far this women was the peach of them all. Avoid this store at all costs. Maybe they won't make any money and will have to move on from what seemed to be a manager that is tanking a store.
