She really needs her glasses to function, and no, she does not have an extra pair with her. It is late in the day on a Saturday. There is no way we can find an Optical shop open here today, and we are heading into remote areas of Washington tomorrow. We are away from home, and I am without tools, supplies, or even an appropriate work surface. No worries though, because I remembered seeing an Ace Hardware store as we drove in. Suddenly, I feel like MacGyver, or Mark Watney...under pressure, but ready to put together a solution to save the day. I was able to buy Gorilla Glue, some copper wire, some hobby clips, and wire cutters from Nelson's Ace Hardware. I got a couple of paper clips from the Hotel front desk, a lens cleaning cloth from my camera bag, and some loose paper from a folder that happened to be in the car. There were no other customers waiting to be cashed out. We left and went to Ace in Kalispell and found all that we needed. The employees in this store did not greet us and were not helpful so will not be going back there.

There is a wonderful clothing and footwear department that sells many name brands that really appeal to the masses. Hunting apparel, jeans, coats, shirts and accessories. There is usually a really good selection on their clearance rack that I've found amazing deals for bothering me and my husband. But our favorite department is the gun department. They are helpful, knowledgeable and eager to show you anything that you might want to touch. We've been known to go in for chicken food and leave with a gun or two!! Ammo is always stocked and they carry many accessories too. Along with a huge selection of safes. Watch for their sales because they have some pretty awesome deals. But most of all after a big shopping haul right at the check out is a vast array of candy and snacks!! Also hard to resist!! NO STARS OR NEGATIVE IS MY SELECTION. June 2017 I moved to C. Falls from Michigan. I started shopping the two hardware stores in town and soon discovered how terrible the customer service and attitudes were at WBC so I stopped going there. That was too bad for I lived in a very old place that needed a TON of fixing up!! Recently, January 2021, I tried WBC again and I was so surprised for they had an employee, Adam, who just did not belong there or fit in....for Adam was pleasant, eager to help me and every time I came in he was the same and he wasn't just standing around waiting for someone to come to him like most the staff are there....he came to me rapidly and his attitude was genuine to help me! That shocked me but very much pleased me so I kept trying them for about two months and I soon discovered once again, WBC really had not changed. I am going to share a recent experience that had confirmed my choice to never shop there again and to let as many as possible potential future customers know about my feelings and terrible experience, which really says it all and explains WBC pretty well. January 31st I was in desperate situation to repair something and quickly so I did not have time to go into the bigger hardware stores in Kalispell and the other hardware store in town did not have what I needed. I was not sure about one item in particular so I bought two different sizes ... therefore I needed to return or exchange one of those items, and that was a price of $2.79! For that whole order, which consisted of lots of smaller and cheaper items, I had to write a check which totaled $37.44. I was strapped for money and needed to buy another item so I took my one extra item back into WBC during the first week of February and intended on exchanging it for the other more expensive item that I needed. But oh no...that was not going to happen no matter what! Regarding returns when a check is written: WBC has a sign that is not in front of or easily seen by the customer, and there is no mention on any of the receipts about doing a return when a check is written. They would not even consider doing an exchange for the $2.79! The cashier was very rude and unfriendly and obviously lacked any common sense and intelligence therefore as she strictly quoted the rules by the book for which she was glued to... she did not show any care or concern about whether she was about to lose a customer for good over $2.79; over an issue that made absolutely no sense whatsoever ... for she was not handing out any money here!! I also need to tell you that the check had already cleared my bank account and I told her I could show her or prove that to her for that is why they have that policy to begin with, but it did not matter... You might think in this case she might have even checked with a supervisor considering the whole situation but no, not once did she even ask for further assistance, instead she coldly gave me the item and receipt back and said they would not do anything for 10 days from the time the check was written. I seriously cannot believe that there is a business that acts and thinks like this anymore these days! I am 58, worked customer service and retail jobs since I was 14 years old; went to college for business management; involved in extensive customer service training and this whole issue just so blows my mind on how wrong it was managed ... I strongly recommend and wish that others out there would NOT and do NOT support a business with this kind of mentality and employees that do not have any common sense nor value their customers! When I needed a question answered, there was nobody to be found. I finally found two guys bringing things in from outside the rear of the store. I asked if one of them could help me. One of them said, "give us a second sir," and then went about their business. Once the dropped their load inside I thought they would help. No. They went back outside and continued doing what they were doing. I went to the front of the store and talked to a manager, "Larry" who did answer my question. No apology for my experience. He basically said there's the door, have a nice night. No one works for a living in this store.
