Most things about this ACE location are excellent, except for one thing. The guy that is always in the hardware department is awful. This ace has a great selection of hardware and I used to spend hundreds of dollars a month there, but I've finally had it with him to the point I'll be shopping elsewhere for hardware. If you are a guy familiar with searching for hardware for a project, you probably know it's a process that requires focus, brain power, and patience. He will come asking if you need help, and even if you respond with "no thanks" he will proceed to help you anyways by being incredibly rude and being condescending. Every time I've been in I watch other men slowly get filled with rage as he tries to "help" and no matter what you tell him he will not leave you alone. read more

If you want to be ignored, and treated like you owe them something, then this is your store. I came there for paint. I waited at the paint department for 5 to 10 minutes and no one came to wait on me. I asked for help, and that is when i was told that the paint person was eating lunch, and that he will be back in 5 or 10 minutes. He probably was , but i will never be! Also the governor lifted the mandate on masks a month ago. It is your choice to wear or not to wear a Mask, all over the state, accept for Kalispell Ace. I brought my daughter's lawn mower in for repair and it sat there for three weeks. They didn't fix anything, it still doesn't work and they said it works. I wasn't born yesterday and I've used many different brands of lawn equipment few decades. They charged me $35 service fee for doing nothing. It is very hard to start, once starting to mow it chokes out and dies. It now the end of July and they won't answer the phone or return a call so far. This is not a good way to do business as I know a lot of people in this small community and work for a firm that uses there services. That can easily change. read more

Love this place! Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Good selection including items you wouldn't normally find in a non-big box store such as pet supplies. In and out fast, I've never been left waiting for service, unlike the big box stores. read more

This location is right by my house and I feel so fortunate to live by an Ace Hardware AND a Cosmoprof. Two of my personal favorites. I tend to get a lot of DIY kind of items from Ace Hardware. I love their spray paint as well as paint location, quality wise it is the best. Convenience for this place is ultimately why I choose here over anywhere else, but I love the deals and I have an Ace card but they are so good about giving fair pricing, as well as offering discounts through coupons and specials. Everytime I come in here, with or without my husband I get asked what I can get help with. Sometimes I can't even find what I'm looking for and I probably could but it would take me longer than it would for someone who specializes in woodware, screws, types of screws, and different types of specifics as far as all that stuff goes. They have good air conditioners here as well as other house hold items. Canning books and goods, just a good variety and it is more the feel of a locally owned type place even though they have locations all over, I definitely get that feel at Ace's locations more than I do at Home Depot or Lowes, which I have no problem with either. read more

I have found this store to be invaluable and the staff very helpful! They usually have the items I want, and I find their prices to be very fair. Since we have Ace Rewards, we receive a $10 or $5 coupon almost every month. I shop there frequently. read more

Extremely high prices and employees know absolutely nothing about the products they sell. I went in for the last time ever and the door was literally blockaded by employees demanding I wear a mask and blocking my path. They shoved a box of masks in my face and touch me to prevent me from entering to the point of simple assault. I will never shop at Ace Kalispell again. read more

Good selection and service, but very high prices relative to competitors. However, beyond that, consider the fact that I applied for a job at the Kalispell store, had an interview with Melissa, was specifically told that they'd get back with me the next day with a decision, and I never heard from them one way or another despite my multiple voicemail messages over the next week, which I left just asking for a decision. I don't care at all that they don't hire me or any particular person for any reason they choose - but it's extraordinarily rude to just leave people hanging; waiting indefinitely without getting an answer. What kind of people do that? It's really unbelievable how bad of a community citizen ACE Montana is for this kind of cowardly / negligent action; not sending me anything (which I need to document my unemployment comp contacts) - no return calls, no letter; no text; no emails; no nothing. I went in to buy a snow blower today, and the Store Manager was great. He took time to explain the equipment and while I ran errands he put gas in and started my new snow blower ensuring it was ready when I came back - which is when their customer service fell apart. The Assistant Store manager was called over during my check-out due to a problem with a discount I was eligible to receive. Rather than troubleshooting, he told me that I was not eligible because the item was on sale (which according to the store manager it was priced at an every day low price and the item never goes on sale). I tried explaining that the item was not on sale, but he cut me off and radioed his manager - who told him my discount was eligible. Rather than thanking me for my service or my business, he proceeded to tell me how I was wrong and how sale items are not eligible for a discount. We have been faithful ACE customers for 8+ years in the Missoula market, and it is really disappointing to see such a marked difference in store leadership within the Kalispell store. My thanks to the General Manager for his initial assistance - without it - I would have walked away from this purchase. The Assistant Store Manager needs a refresher course in customer service. read more
