And the thing that drives me nuts about doing business there is the fact that no employee--not one--wears any kind of shirt, badge, hat or other item identifying them as an employee! Too many times I have embarrassed fellow shoppers by asking "do you work here...?" A new Ace Hardware store is under construction just a few hundred yards west. Consider yourself lucky if you come across an employee who says "hello" or even smiles. Apparently those are becoming harder and harder to find these days. I guess the other owner isn't as friendly or acted like we were a bother. I was with one of my friends who is in her 80's and we wanted baby chicks. But didn't want them till the next week and we wanted to make sure they had what we wanted. He acted so rude. But when I went to pick them up Mike was there again and he's so nice friendly and helpful I would go back because of him. If it was the other guy I'd steer clear. I always like giving my business to the local guys but I want to feel like I'm appreciated as a customer.
