Double D construction was the subcontractor doing the work. They would come in, work for a short time, or no time, and leave without telling us when they'd be back. They would leave drink cups and cans in the middle of the floor. They would leave woodwork they pulled out laying in walkways with nails sticking up. They would move things into walkways, block the walkway, and just leave it there. I contacted Service Master innumerable times about issues. Finally one day the workmen just stopped coming. When I called to find out when they would be back, I was told that they were finished. They weren't. I sent a list of all the things yet to be finished. The manager from Service Master came back, did one or two little things and left. The job is still not finished.

I wouldn't recommend to anyone that needs repairs completed. They still never finished caulking the back of the toilet or paint the trim so I will end up finishing those things myself. I have an old house that does have some slants in the floor from settling, but they were insistent that a 1/2" gap between the trim was the best they could do (even though the original bathroom had trim that fit perfectly on the floor). I had to stand my ground and make the contractor go buy quarter round to hide the gaps. The contractor also bought the cheapest transition strip that is made for carpet and is bright silver for my vinyl flooring and claimed that was the best match he could find. Again I had to complain and stand my ground and he immediately found a wood that matched almost perfect.

Anyways, before today I had not had my carpets cleaned since I moved into our home over 3 years ago. I honestly didn't really think about professionally cleaning the carpets because I had not needed to think about it prior to this home (oops, my bad! I'll keep up on it now!) I'm sure everyone did the same thing before choosing who they wanted to go with to clean their carpets (searching the many options/reviews that appear on google), because there are quite a few out there, and its hard to know what a reasonable price is, and what the service should look like from start to finish if you have not done it before! (You can stop looking now that you're reading this review :p) I was looking through, and came across Top Notch Carpet Cleaning, and I honestly couldn't have made a better decision. Steps I took before day of service- - Went onto their website and looked at their service options (They make it super easy to build your own quote online) - I chose to book an appt and choose specific areas, sizes, and the type of cleaning I wanted - I then chose an available time and booked the appt all online within a matter for maybe 5min (After you choose the type and area size you want cleaned, it gives you a price for the service too!) Prepping the spaces being cleaned before the service! I made sure to vacuum the spaces I was having cleaned before the day of service (I recommend reading their pre appt email that tells you how to prep the space prior to their arrival ( I assume this just helps with the flow of your service and ensures that their tools don't get clogged or something. But either way, if it helps them day of, the areas will be vacuumed! I will note that once your service day comes, they will look at the areas to make sure they aline with the options you chose (which is super helpful, because I kind of guessed sqft areas in bedrooms that had things like furniture that took up sqft space) and will discount a little if you chose too big of a space, and add if you underestimated the space. If you've gotten this far, thanks for reading and I hope the remainder of this review helps you choose who you'd like to clean your carpets! We have come to the day of service! I received a text the night before letting me know what time he would arrive the following day, and I also received a text the morning of telling me how far out he was, which was very helpful for me so that I could make sure my animals were put away! Once James arrived he was very nice, and took a look at the areas I wanted cleaned, and also looked around the carpet for pet stains with a black light. (yikes! I may have to invest in a blacklight now haha!) Anyways, the blacklight was MUCH needed. James was very thorough during initial looks, and then got to work! I'm honestly writing this as he works because I have the time, and also wanted to be very thorough with this review because up until this point, I am super happy with the service. Update- Service has finished. The carpets look as new as the first time I saw them when the house was new! I can't say enough good things about James, and the service he provided. So friendly, helpful, and honest. I will be solely using Top Notch Carpet Cleaning from here on out! (And you should too! You seriously won't be regret it!)
