Checkmate saved my carpets! I was looking for a carpet cleaner to do my house...my carpets hadn't been cleaned in roughly two years. I found a coupon in the local flyer for $99 for a company and had them come clean my carpets, but I guess you get what you pay for....my carpets were wet and still stained! I called around and got ahold of Checkmate, who came out the following Monday. The guys were great! I was really skeptical after already paying almost $100 for a guy to do nothing....so I was a bit hesitant....but agreed to clean all the carpets. I had oil stains from a chair on white carpet, kitty urine and kitty puke, along with misc stains from the kids.....I was very surprised and very happy when 99% of the stains came out! In fact, all the oil stains in the family room came up, saving my room..... This company is, by far, the best I have ever had the pleasure of using and they will definately be first on my list next time! They showed up promptly, gave me a FREE estimate, and even moved the furniture....making my experience pain free. I cannot say enough great things about George and Checkmate Carpet Cleaning!! I have been overcharged and disappointed with many carpet & upholstery cleaning services in the past. No more!! George is knowledgeable (he is certified by several national carpet manufacturers, about their products and how to clean them!), he is enthusiastic and genuinely pleasant! It's awesome that he is such a dedicated hard working small business owner. Let's talk about my cleaning yesterday...we have 2 wonderful dogs, I love them...but they can be rough on a house! Our 9 year old Westie has some issues and I thought it was time to replace 5 year old carpet in our family room...nope! George absolutely handled it!! The carpet looks brand new and smells fresh. We had George and Tyler clean our smaller sofa and a well loved chair and ottoman also...they look and smell amazing! Furniture gets musty smelling and I'm just thrilled with how all of it "cleaned up". I usually don't write reviews, but I was so impressed with their service that I felt that it was the right thing to do. Their service was great from the initial call to the appointment and follow-up. They presented a very easy-to-understand quote and described their services very well. They even taught me a thing or two about the kind of fabric used on my furniture. I was so impressed that during the service call I had them clean the rest of my chairs. This is not my first experience with these folks. We used to use another firm but my soon to be ex-wife (Thank goodness) recommended this one. (Of all the things we fought about, I admit that she was right about Checkmate Cleaners). I have two kids and my carpets and furniture are covered with stains. Yet, there's never been a stain that they couldn't get out. Before they left, they noticed that I had some other carpeting issues, such as wrinkles. They offered to repair ALL of the wrinkles throughout the house for a very reasonable rate. I can't believe it but my carpets look brand new. In fact, they look so nice that I am considering not having my floors replaced. I would recommend this company to anyone. I just bought a new house with carpets that were pet damaged in some areas (cats). Checkmate told me they could find the bad areas, replace the pad in those areas, seal the sub-floor, clean the carpet and apply an enzyme that would break down the urine crystals still in the carpet. All for a price that was much less than what it would cost to replace the carpet. They had no way of finding the affected areas. A blacklight cannot show anything in a sun-lit room. Instead, they just chose a couple of places that were easy to access. I had to leave before they were done, so gave them instructions to lock up (the house was empty). When I came back the next day the front door was unlocked, the back door was open and the outdoor faucet was running. I also found several carpet tacks sticking up in a doorway where they had pulled up the carpet. Oh, and the stained carpet pad was still in the garage. Weeks later, the areas they missed still stink. Badly. I've given up and ordered new carpet for the worst rooms. I don't know whether it is actually possible to get rid of the smell of cat urine in carpet, but I sure wouldn't trust this company to do it. read more
