Updated Yelp Review Title: Updated: Hansel Subaru Helped Reach a Resolution I previously posted about my frustration with LuxCare coverage being misrepresented when I bought my 2022 Outback. I stand by that concern. However, I want to update my review because Hansel Subaru reached out and asked for one more chance to make things right. They offered to send my car to a private detail shop--Auto Sport Detailing on Cleveland Ave in Santa Rosa--to see if the paint etching could be corrected. I agreed, and I'm glad I did. Auto Sport Detailing did an excellent job; the etching marks on the Pearl White paint were almost completely gone. Huge shoutout to Auto Sport Detailing for their work. Thank you to Hansel Subaru for not giving up and working toward a satisfactory resolution. I had no intention of buying a new car when I stopped by Hansel Subaru a few months ago. In fact, I had actually driven over in a vehicle I was test driving from a used car dealer down the road, but only to compare pricing. But then we met one of Hansel's salespeople, Nick Rescina. Suffice to say there was no hard sell - he just comes across as very chill, easy going, and helpful. An hour or two later, I drove home in my new Crosstrek Limited lol. My husband and I stopped by again today to get our free 'new car tutorial' with Gary O'Bryan. We walked out with all kinds of useful information to help us get the most out of the Subie. These people are awful. Contacted them to replace a key fob right before a road trip. The were requiring me to provide license and registration get a key cut which I didn't want or need, I only needed the fob programmed. Had to go to Marin Subaru instead for the fob in time, Marin Subaru is awesome. Hansel kept lying and doubling down that I had to provide license and reg to get a new fob which is not required unless you need a key cut. I think they just wanted more money. These jerks have lost my business for good since they had no interest in correcting the situation or acknowledging that they were wrong. Do not give them your business! BTW I've found their maintenance service sub par. Frequently found they missed things. So there's that too. Taking my car in for service in Marin tomorrow. read more

More expensive for standard oil change/tire rotation, but great service and a solid option if you're under a new car warranty. I scheduled my one-year servicing, which essentially included an oil change with multi-point inspection and the total cost (with $20 off coupon) was $290 - a bit steep! I will say that their service is extremely hands-on and attentive, but this is still not worth the cost for me in the long term. I did appreciate that they were able to update my Subaru's system, as I had not been able to send/receive texts using Subarus voice to text feature until today (a year After purchasing a brand new vehicle). Overall, 5 stars for service but value for cost could be improved. read more

Our Subaru Forester broke down at the beginning of our anniversary getaway on the Mendonoma coast. On a weekend, with no garages open nearby, we were left stranded with no way to get around. We had purchased our car at Hansel Subaru several years prior and had a great experience, so we decided to get it towed there. When we reached out and explained the situation, they arranged a loaner car for us for the weekend and kept our car safe until their service center opened on Monday, when they could diagnose and fix the issue. Shout out to Edgar Marroquin for going above and beyond to make the process less stressful. He showed kindness and generosity in a very anxiety-inducing situation, and even checked in on my wife to ensure she made it back to the coast with no issues. I took our Subaru in for some service. The service staff was great, helpful, and responsive. Jeff, my assigned service advisor was top notch. Zero complaints there. However, almost as soon I was driving out of their driveway, I received a text from Hansel Subaru asking if I want to sell my Subaru. No, thank you. Then, a little while later this same day I received a call. It was a sales guy calling from Hansel Subaru asking me if I wanted to sell my Subaru. This is intrusive and not respecting my privacy. I brought my vehicle in for service, not to be placed on some sales call list. They should not share my name and number with anyone--including their own sales department--and only use it for the intended purpose--servicing my Subaru. If I want to sell my car, I'll start calling around; not get called while I'm at work with a sales call. I find this very sad. read more

Fantastic experience buying a Subaru today at Hansel in Santa Rosa. I have bought many cars in my life, and it always seems adversarial. Our salesperson was Edgar, and he was as kind and as communicative as you might ever hope for. He helped us get a great deal, and if you ever plan to buy a Subaru, ask for him. Subaru I have always taken my Subaru to Hansel Subaru in Santa Rosa to be serviced. It has always been a good experience until this last time. While I waited for the service to be completed I was asked more than once if I wanted to sell my car. First came a text, then came the salesman who would not take no for an answer. My mistake was saying yes when he asked me if I "didn't even want to know what my car was worth. " As an 83 year old senior citizen I guess he thought I was easy prey. Isamar is the best! We walked in for the first time an hour before closing on a Saturday after months of looking around for a Suburu with no luck. She was able to find me the exact car I was looking for and even though it was really late, she encouraged us to test drive the car. I never felt like she was rushing us out at all. She was able to answer all of my questions clearly and directly and was genuine in solving any concerns I had. Unlinke most car sales reps, she was proactive in finding alternatives to my concerns. I really felt like she was trying everything she could to help me. After about 2.5 hours, Isamar and her team were able to find me the perfect Suburu. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. As a person who has worked in the service industry for over a decade, I can surely say that customer service is a dying art. It was refreshing and hopeful to experience that level of customer service and care at a car lot. This was the main reason why I was not having as much luck at other locations. Went in to investigate a specific rear differential issue, they never even looked at the differential, but they did say I needed new wheel bearings. That's interesting because I had just replaced my wheel bearings a month before. So basically a total waste of money and time. Didn't bother to even look at the issue I came in for. read more

The sales manager worked with me to resolve the issue in a timely manner. I appreciated the fact that I received timely communication and resolution and this is partially why I am giving a five star review. He asked questions about what I was looking for in a vehicle and was great at pointing out and explaining the car's safety and technology features during the test drive. He didn't rush me in the test drive and he allowed me to really test the car in different situations. Afterward, I told him I wasn't ready to buy that day because I wanted to test drive a couple of other cars. Andre asked specifically what other cars I was interested in. I told him, and he said he just happened to have those cars in the lot. We went for test drives in each of those, and that clinched the Outback for me. What a nice experience buying my new SUV. Tim Kain introduced himself and within five minutes had the car picked out that I eventually bought. And I was only at the dealership for an oil change for the car that I traded in. Tim was personable and knowledgeable. He had all the answers and showed me what all the knobs and buttons were for. He explained all the add ons I could choose and what to expect when I spoke with the finance department,(Scott, who was also very easy to work with.)
