This CVS is one of my old stomping grounds as I worked as a pharmacy technician back in my twenties…read moreso I'm 100% a CVS customer!! I came in here the other day to get my 2nd shingles vaccine as I got my 1st one @ a CVS back in Las Vegas & knew that they would have a record of this because I wasn't sure of the exact date of when I did get my 1st shingles shot. The lady @ the pharmacy counter was very nice & was able to pull me up by my name & DOB. I had to update my insurance info as my plan changed the first of the new year. It was very busy when I stopped in here on a Thursday afternoon around 4pm. I didn't schedule an appointment for my vaccine as I was having trouble connecting to the CVS app. I tell ya the Verizon cell phone service in this area isn't the best. I was able to get my vaccine as a walk in even though it was busy. Jaime the pharmacist was the one who gave me my shingles shot. He was very friendly & nice to chat with. He gave me my shot without any issues (yes, the shingles vaccine does hurt! As I tell patient's "its not the needle that hurts its the medicine) & I had told him how I use to work here in my 20's. The pharmacy has grown as I counted probable about 5-6 people behind the counter. The store has even grown too. I have found that it has gotten more crowded with aisles/products, as if they put more in this store. There isn't much room to move down an aisle if there is someone else in it too. I did get my coupons from their coupon machine & did some shopping based on what coupons I had. I do find CVS to be more expensive than Walmart but with the coupons it helped by lowering the prices of some of the items that I wanted to buy. I did go to the self checkout (which I hate) & did have some problems with scanning my items but one of the employees came over right away & helped me fix the issues. I do find that it can be a pain in getting out of if you park on the smaller parking lot side so I went home the back way then trying to fit to get back out on islington street.

The store is old, unorganized, in lines to the pharmacy almost out the door. Also, the management is not at all customer service oriented. I had one of the rudest experiences with a manager named Victor in all my years. What a nasty young man. He has no concept of treating a human being, much less a customer, with care. Avoid this place!

Angela is not friendly and has no problem leaving someone on hold for 20+ minutes: picks up the phone, says NOTHING, puts right back on hold. She chooses not to answer the phone when it's ringing. This is the 4th time I've tried calling the S.Main St Pharmacy today! And now the system just hung up on me after having sat hold for 25 minutes because she didn't even bother picking up the phone and putting it on hold. I know it's ANGELA because I heard her voice one of the times she picked up and hung up. I would never suggest using this pharmacy, it's clear their actual pharmacist is unwilling to assist the staff, not even by answering a phone call. Customer service is terrible and apparently they only have 1 employee to cover 2 in-person windows and the phone. However, it doesn't take more than a minute to say "I'll be right with you" if you're going to pick up the phone even if busy.

I started from my hotel and ended up about a block or so away from this particular Walgreens store. I was like alright, I might as well buy some stuff before heading back to the hotel. It was nice to have this Walgreens store that was maybe 0.25 miles away from the hotel. This Walgreens store seemed smaller than some I've been to elsewhere. It had your basic essentials as well as your every day items. I'm guessing it was rush hour at the time, since many people were driving a little reckless. I circled the store at least twice trying to decide what I needed. After two times around the store, I ended up picking up some cold drinks and a couple of basic necessities. The total time spent inside the store was no more than 30 minutes. By that time, there was 4 people ready to check out that was ahead of me. The store was organized to a tee and definitely was clean. Stocked with every day products, Walgreens is my favorite place to go to while on vacation. We have CVS back home. With that said, the service here was good, friendly, and fast. I can't remember if there was self check out at this location, but I opted for the one with a Walgreens clerk on duty. I'm old school that way. It was an uneventful experience that proved to be a good thing that evening. It gave me something to do and some social interaction with people while grabbing needed items for my short vacation to Manchester, NH in mid October 2024. Walgreens is your community store for all things everyday including this one in Manchester, NH. This particular Walgreens store experience overall was nice, uneventful, and pleasant. Once the line cleared, I said hi to the cashier, presented my items, paid, and gladly walked out with my purchase. It was one of those quick stops that made me smile. Not like long lines at the bank or anything like that. Just a quick stop and I was on my way back to the hotel. I really like this Walgreens store since it was close enough to the hotel. I love the Walgreens brand for anything that I need on any given day while I travel. I mainly shop for food or drink items but sometimes occasionally, I would get other things, depending on what I need. On this trip in Manchester, a few bottle drinks and some household items I forgot to pack in my luggage. For the most part though, I think I enjoyed my time here at this particular Walgreens because of the close proximity to the hotel and they had whatever I needed. For the most part though, it was a good place to go to for your daily essentials and snacks and drinks. They try daily to be your daily stop shop for all your needs. Often times, they do succeed! And so, if you need that soda or chips or just anything else you may be missing from your life and you're in the Manchester, NH area, consider on stopping by. They'll be glad to see you. This particular Walgreens location is located in Manchester, NH, physically anchored in at 227 South Main Street in a residential area. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, there is limited parking here for anybody and everybody who wants to shop here. I walked to and from here on foot from the Econolodge I was staying nearby, so it was just a short walk to this Walgreens. Not sure if there was public transportation that runs thru the area, but chances are there is for anyone who needs it. Of course, there is uber and lyft for those of yall who need it. With that in mind, if you need Walgreens in your life and are in the area, consider coming to this location for a quiet and surreal shopping experience. The people are friendly and knowledgeable. They have a pharmacy I think, but I would check to see if they have special hours for pick ups and refills. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 5.0 stars for the location but still need to walk here lol 3.0 stars for the service and the prices. All the small town pharmacies are being bought out an they dont give a crap an offer less customer service. I've been told on multiple occasions my medications are on backorder for 2 weeks!!! No concern that I am not supposed to be off them at all. To them its all about the buck not about the people.

Barre Family Pharmacy - led by the likes of Pharmacist Alfredo Lama - and staffed with an awesome…read morepharmacy team - is a PHENOMENAL place to do business with !! Over the decades I have been around, trust me when I tell you that I've been to every major chain out there - and a few "Mom 'n Pops" pharmacies too. The deal is very clear and emphatic: with this pharmacy, you'd be surprised at the vast majority of people that come through this store on a near-constant basis... and being a physician myself, I'm amazed at just how able this team of professionals truly are when it comes to meeting every available need patients may have out there. Now - for sure - there a-r-e a disadvantage (or two) here that you must accept - and its really something that nearly goes without saying. If you've ever used a RURAL pharmacy before, you'll discover at some point or other a very specific situation that crops up from time to time: a pharmacy may run a little low on specific meds that can be quite popular to prescribe with doctors/physican assistants/ RN practitioners - and there is only so much (volume-wise) that can be met, all things told. But there IS a "flip side" to this story - its not ALWAYS that a pharmacy runs out per se - MANY times it is a matter of drug suppliers running out themselves !! So, to be certain, that is my only thoughts about drawbacks, et al. Barre Family Pharmacy is such a cornerstone in our daily lives that I can promise you that I can, with little afterthought, tell you the names of each and every pharmacist that works there, each and every day. They ALL are knowledgeable, ALL are courteous to a fault and best of all, you'll leave there feeling like you've made a friend. The same with their Staff - a kindly group (usually) that does their utmost to be professional and courteous - even when that place is super-busy above all !! I've been a client here for approximately 12 years now, and seriously, when it comes to friendliness and concerns you might have, "BPH" is the 'go-to' place, no doubts. Where else can you receive, say, a RSV vaccine and a Shingles shot all the while they're filling your next medication order? THAT is exactly what I'm trying to get across to you, faithful reader, at this hour of day. If you're tired of being treated with aloofness by some big market pharmacy outlet, look no further!! Barre Family Pharmacy will literally toss THAT kind of rudeness out the window. Trust me, you'll SEE and feel the difference !!
