This CVS is one of my old stomping grounds as I worked as a pharmacy technician back in my twenties…read moreso I'm 100% a CVS customer!! I came in here the other day to get my 2nd shingles vaccine as I got my 1st one @ a CVS back in Las Vegas & knew that they would have a record of this because I wasn't sure of the exact date of when I did get my 1st shingles shot. The lady @ the pharmacy counter was very nice & was able to pull me up by my name & DOB. I had to update my insurance info as my plan changed the first of the new year. It was very busy when I stopped in here on a Thursday afternoon around 4pm. I didn't schedule an appointment for my vaccine as I was having trouble connecting to the CVS app. I tell ya the Verizon cell phone service in this area isn't the best. I was able to get my vaccine as a walk in even though it was busy. Jaime the pharmacist was the one who gave me my shingles shot. He was very friendly & nice to chat with. He gave me my shot without any issues (yes, the shingles vaccine does hurt! As I tell patient's "its not the needle that hurts its the medicine) & I had told him how I use to work here in my 20's. The pharmacy has grown as I counted probable about 5-6 people behind the counter. The store has even grown too. I have found that it has gotten more crowded with aisles/products, as if they put more in this store. There isn't much room to move down an aisle if there is someone else in it too. I did get my coupons from their coupon machine & did some shopping based on what coupons I had. I do find CVS to be more expensive than Walmart but with the coupons it helped by lowering the prices of some of the items that I wanted to buy. I did go to the self checkout (which I hate) & did have some problems with scanning my items but one of the employees came over right away & helped me fix the issues. I do find that it can be a pain in getting out of if you park on the smaller parking lot side so I went home the back way then trying to fit to get back out on islington street.

The store is old, unorganized, in lines to the pharmacy almost out the door. Also, the management is not at all customer service oriented. I had one of the rudest experiences with a manager named Victor in all my years. What a nasty young man. He has no concept of treating a human being, much less a customer, with care. Avoid this place!

To be told in a rude entitled way that i would have to go else where to use the bathroom was unfair. This is for online and in-store experience:…read more Online: Pages were sluggish to load and served photos of other products I wasn't searching for, like SPF facial moisturizer with accompanying photo for sunless tanning lotion. Rinse and repeat, page after page. I finally placed my online order, getting 30% off for Cyber Week promotion, 8% cash back on Retail Me Not and a 40% off offer on mix & match Neutrogena products + a hairdryer. In-Store: I waited for text confirmation but when I got to the store, they couldn't load their site nor had they received my order. They couldn't give me the same promotional discounts but I did get a double side-serving of smug indifference (thanks Brittany). Thank goodness for assistant store manager Wesley: I discovered later that I'd left my credit card behind and he was genuinely helpful when I called then stopped in to pick it up. Wesley said, "It's always nice when you have the opportunity to help people." Awww. Wesley gets 5 stars & bumps up the overall experience to an average 3-star rating. Walgreen's Corporate Office: Promote Wesley to regional manager and give the man a raise.

I…read moremoved to ME from MA a few months ago and switched my services after polling a local mom's FB group as to what was a great hospital and midwives service. The locals equally recommended York, Southern Maine, and Mercy Hospital as all good choices - so I chose York Hospital OB because of it's proximity to my family in MA. I've been to both the Wells and York offices and because I only needed 6 visits they made sure to rotate me through all the doctors, who have all been very knowledgeable and supportive and really seem to listen to my concerns. For one, I needed to continue a series of iron infusions ASAP and was having trouble getting my records transferred between hematology offices, once I explained this, the OB committed to calling my previous hematologist directly and had me referred within perhaps 48 hours to begin infusions based on her doctor-to-doctor communication. This was a huge stress off my plate. All of the midwives have likewise been pleasant and reassuring and the receptionists have all been very friendly and helpful. I also must comment on the associated hospital and maternity center. It is absolutely gorgeous. I wasn't sure what to expect as I'm used to a very large institutional feel (this is my 5th child) and the hospital is clearly smaller than I m used to. But open entering (main entrance) it was a very calming environment with beautiful wall murals and a cozy waiting area with a big fish tank and even a LL Bean-esque wooden play structure (with a pretend dock, so cute) that I my 3 yo daughter thought was awesome. We then toured the delivery area where I guess they've been renovating and the waiting room is AWESOME - depending on the time of labor, we may (eek) have to have all our kids come with us while we wait for family to arrive. After seeing the waiting I actually have no concerns about bringing all our kids there to hang out if needed - there is plenty of room and again, a cozy feeling... not cold or 'institutional' at all. I could see them claiming just a corner of the room with books, games, stuffed animals, and snacks and being just fine for a few hours. I hope that other locals are able to experience the same as I have and that this place gets the credit it deserves!
