I really enjoyed going to Mosquito Creek Outfitters! They have a little bit of everything. Which is…read moregreat for a girl that likes to shoot (guns and bow) and fish. They definitely enough to save me a trip from heading into the city. Which is great, because I like supporting local businesses! What's even better is they have some competitive prices. Which is probably not easy to do with all the big box outdoors stores. Everyone was kind and knowledgeable. Mosquito Creek Outfitters will now be the first stop for my outdoors needs.

He doesn't know I am getting over an elbow and shoulder injury, he said he would stop me from shooting if he saw muzzle flip again on the camera he was watching me from on his computer, well well Oly, muzzle flip, what a farse, of course guns have muzzle flip or rise when shooting, The range fee is too high as well. see here, this is how shot my 1911 https://youtube.com/shorts/fI-BQ3VqmQk?si=gqNAbmF7hpIK2HUN https://youtube.com/shorts/vgi_1s5eZmA?si=pC2-4PoP8lpNqjsb 10 years of knowing him and he treated me like red headed step child. The other guys seem OK. I will shoot at the Ione outdoor range from now on, and I can let my muzzle rise as high as I want, Jeesh

Big 5 is one of my favorite sporting goods retailer…read more I occasionally drop on into the Placerville location. It's on Placerville Drive, a few minutes drive north of the Highway 50 exit. The shop'soverall customer service is pretty good. The majority of the staff are awesome. A few weeks ago, I dropped in to check out the swim gear. But took a detour looking at the shoes. The associate (with reddish hair and eyeglasses) working that department helped me look for a couple of running shoes from the backroom inventory. No luck, none my size. Then as I was walking away, he took it upon himself to peruse the clearance rack, for my size and shoe type. At this time I only ventured a few aisles away, he found me to show me a pair he found on clearance. Visually, they were in great condition. A brand and style, and color palette I was looking for. It was the right size. I tried them on, they fit perfectly. Comfy. Better yet it was an additional 20% off. So all together the price was 47% off from the original retail price. Score. But gotta say, sure would appreciate a public restroom. Especially considering this Big 5 is in a stand alone building not close to any other retail businesses or within a shopping plaza.

Scheels is awesome! What a treasure for the Reno/Sparks area…read more I have visited Scheels dozens of times. If you are looking for something sports-related, they almost certainly have it. If you can't find it in store, they can probably order it for you. On top of being a sporting goods store, Scheels has a Ferris wheel, a digital shooting range, a candy shop, an arcade, two aquariums, a bike/ski/skate service shop, a snack bar, a taxidermy mountain, a bowling alley, and loads of other things to keep a family entertained for hours. The surrounding Legends Mall also supplies loads to do and can easily keep you busy for a whole day or more. While I find the prices at Scheels to be a tad higher than online retailers, most things are reasonably priced and competitive compared to other brick-and-mortar sports stores. All of the employees are super friendly and kind. I often think of Scheels as the Chick-fil-A of retail.

5-stars if you've never been to a flagship store like this and aren't looking for good value…read more 4-stars if you actually are going to buy something. They're overpriced, especially on non-sale items on almost everything. I stumbled here in the very rare circumstance I needed something before Amazon could deliver it -- a snorkel set before leaving for Hawaii the next day. I was blown away what was inside. A full size Ferris wheel? Shooting Gallery? Cafe? Candy Store? On and On. While not nearly as impressive as the Bass Pros headquarters store in Springfield MO, for those in Reno locals/visitors, it's worth a visit just to see the place, especially when super cold or hot out. Liberal's (REI folk) might find some of the stuff amusing (the premium gun collection and the huge safe assortment come to mind.) I'd give about 30 minutes to wander around. Longer if you actually want to shop or actually do some of the activities.
