Be wary of storing your boat or trailer here…read more 1) I had them detail my boat at the beginning of the 2026 season. When I got in the boat I found dirty footprints from their shoes inside. Unfortunately, this has been a recurring issue. Each time I take my boat out I can see additional dirty footprints with the tread pattern of someone's shoes inside the boat. Obviously my family and I do not allow shoes to be worn in our wakeboard boat. Oddly enough, I have heard similar complaints from other Gold Key customers. 2) I recently asked Gold Key to charge the batteries on my boat so I did not have to deal with potential dead batteries when launching. To my dismay, they did not charge the batteries and left the battery switch in the "on" position (after they detailed it). This subsequently killed both batteries. I stored a 5th wheel trailer here for a couple years as well and had similar issues with them not following through on charging batteries, plugging in my trickle charger (when I specifically asked them to), and not filling propane tanks when specifically asked to do so. 3) The most perplexing thing about Gold Key Marine is that they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. Not a great operations model considering their customer base largely utilizes their stored items on the weekends (i.e. Sunday). If you bring your boat back to them on a Saturday evening, it will sit outside until they come in to the office the following week. 4) I have had multiple bad experiences with their office staff. If you are lucky enough to actually get them on the phone, be prepared to be brushed off as if you are irrelevant. For example, when I called to inquire about options and pricing for detailing my boat prior to the season, the office manager at the time was very hostile and was uninterested in helping. She informed me that she had too many options for detailing and therefore could not take the time to discuss them. She advised that I "do my research" then get back to her. As if saying "its $xx.xx per foot to detail the inside and outside of the boat" is too much to ask. Or even a statement such as, "We have numerous options. I can provide documentation that details what is included with each package." Unfortunately that did not happen. After a back and forth conversation with her, she agreed to send me the options for various detailing packages. I am unsure why it was so difficult to do that from the beginning. At the end of the day it is my fault for continuing to utilize Gold Key Marine for as long as I have. The convenient location outweighed the poor customer service, until now.

Mike and I talked about a month-to-month rental with a sale consignment on my boat. When I finally got the contract, they had an attached addendum specifying six month Minimum with three services included. I called and talked to Mike told him I don't want those services because I want to keep it month-to-month and Mike said OK. After 30 days they did nothing to sell my boat, including, no consignment contract completed. So when I gave my 30 days on January 27, they told me that I have a six month minimum rental. Don't trust Mike because he'll say anything doesn't matter if it's true or false. Never thought that I've been with this company to store my boats for over 10 years, ever come to this. I've been out of the Storage for 40days now and they're still trying to get three months of rent that my Boat wasn't there. It's all about money be very careful. You'll need to complete the liability waiver online before renting. There are two unisex public restrooms nearby. Service: Fast and efficient. No wetsuits are provided. The rental includes only a kayak, paddle, and life jacket. Bring your own water, snacks, hat, sunscreen, swimwear, and water shoes or sandals. Dress expecting to get a little wet. Swimsuits or shorts work well in warm weather, while lightweight layers are better on cooler days. Avoid cotton since it stays wet and can make you feel cold. Rental Policies: Cancellations made within 48 hours of your reservation or no-shows are charged the full rental fee. Rescheduling is allowed between 14 days and 48 hours before your reservation. We paddled from Black Miners Bar to the Folsom Prison water boundary ("the wire") and back. The round trip was about 5 miles and took us around 2 hours at a moderate pace. One nice surprise is that if you return your kayak before your reserved rental time ends, they refund you for the unused time.

We walked along the shoreline, but it was mostly rocky and muddy, and we didn't really see a defined trail. A few people were fishing, there were maybe five boats out on the lake, and a helicopter was practicing water drops, which was interesting but unexpected. Entry fee was $12. Overall, probably better for boaters than for walking or hiking.

I felt 100% safe with him at all times, and by the end of the 4 days, I was kayaking confidently in what felt like huge rapids. "Hangtown Gun Range" I got out of my car with my pistol case and was walking in the front door so I could grab a lane and just toss a few rounds downrange. As soon as I opened the door the guy behind the counter stood up and welcomed me back "Hey man, welcome back. I saw you in here last week while I was teaching a class and I didn't catch your name..??.." So we introduced ourselves. I put my pistol case on the counter to grab my noise suppression ears on and started pulling out my card and my license to rent a lane. "Nick... Nice to see you man, how are the restaurants going..." Comes from over my shoulder. It's the guy who I rented a lane from the previous week. He came over and fist bumped me and we shot the shit for a while. I went to rent the lane and the first guy said "Nick... you should have a membership. If you shoot twice in a month it pays for itself ++ and then you get discounts off of range ammo and classes... it comes with a free life lock account which will save you $30" I said "Damn, I already feel like a member... So I guess I should make it official" I did the paperwork, signed up for the monthly fee... they charged me for the monthly fee and then REFUNDED me for the previous lane rental since I became a member so shortly after being there. "Yeah, we're here for the gun enthusiast community, not to take all your money... but whatever you spend on this hobby we want you to be with our family" DAMN... They did EVERYTHING I want my team to do... THEN I walk into the range and get set. While I'm setting up the range attendant who was there the last time knuckle bumps me and says "It's nice to see you again brother... you shooting the same two as last time" "Yeah. I don't have a collection, just these two to get better and more comfortable" "That M&P you've got is a great pistol... I'm thinking that might be my next one... Have fun today man" Then while I'm shooting I'm having trouble with my red dot. He read my body language and saw me grab a tool to start zeroing it and he asked if I need help with it... "Yep, I'm new at this and I don't know what I'm doing" "Awesome. I love getting new people addicted to this hobby.... I don't use red dots on any of my pistols but some people love them. Are you going to get a dot for your SIG or are you going to have one and one" "One and one" "Yeah, best to be comfortable with both styles" So then I went back to shooting... and finished up. Knuckle bump the attendant on the way out, Put my ears away in the main room. Got my license back and every single person working in the gun range came over and shook my hand before I left. "See you tomorrow" - from one "We have a free rapid fire class this weekend if you're around" - from another. "See you soon nick" from the last. HOLY CRAP!!! I've worked in the best restaurants and resorts around the world and I have never experienced hospitality like that. One team, one culture, one family, one goal... ALL in ... This is the only place I will ever spend my money or range time at. I will take all of their classes... etc. Each person. Unique points of contact. They used my NAME every chance they got. They make a physical connection (grift) with a handshake, buckle bump... WILD... A version of Gun Range hospitality should be our goal for every guest in every industry.

He assessed it, cleaned it and also fired a few rounds. The jams were not user error. It's the gun..don't buy Walther P22. It's not a reliable gun especially when your life depends on it. Dale showed me a few other compact guns that I can rent and try before I buy. They also have an archery range and classes. I will definitely be going back. Thinking about signing up for their yearly membership now.
