Hands down the best breakfast I've had in more years than I can remember. I had a simple meal of home fries, 2 over med., bacon and rye toast. everything was cooked perfectly, it tasted like they actually use good animal fat and some salt when they cook. Just truly great food. We came back through town two days later and i ordered the same meal and it was equally as great. My wife had the chicken and waffles and said it was excellent. We love diner experiences, we drove past it and said we must try it before we go home. We were glad we stopped! The staff was very friendly, and aat us almost immediately. This may be really the only negative part of the visit, they sat us basically right outside thr bathroom area and the odor of bathroom cleaners kinda tainted the experience... Drinks came promptly. I tried Mississippi madness. Husband ordered the smore stuff pancakes. Daughter ordered off the kiddo menu, which I really liked the "can I have a snack" you order 3 of the items listed so she got exactly what she wanted! First off, pancakes were delicious. Today, we stopped at HangOverEasy for lunch in Athens, on our way to Cincinnati. The three of us had Frog Eyes (biscuits and sausage gravy), a BLT, and a Green Mile omelette (chorizo). Everything was great. Service was excellent. Old time diner flavor and decor. read more

I am a hardcore diner breakfast fan. I'm from NEW JERSEY, where diner culture is ART. This place was really cool and did everything right. Saturday morning, in a college town, on Parents Weekend. I expected a wait of an hour or more. When we checked in at the hostess counter every seat in the small old school chrome diner was full. We waited for exactly 8 minutes before getting a table for 3. Don't get me wrong, it was a small table in a tight dining room, but it was perfect. The menu is small but they have almost everything I could hace possibly wanted, with the exception of ham. Meat option were bacon, sausage or chorizo. So some breakfast items had southwestern flair, but I kind of wanted a western omelet. Instead I had the "Sloppy Seconds"-- 2 eggs, meat, potatoes and toast. My kid had the special pancake topped with apples and the other kid had a really excellent looking plate of chicken and waffles. All the food looked-- and tasted-- really good. The portion size was perfect. Our server refilled my coffee twice and my kids' sodas at least that many times. He was exceptionally friendly and didn't rush us through our meal. I recommend checking out the murals in the ladies' room. Very cool. read more

Well that was underwhelming. I was misled by the star rating. I had the ChiChi omelet - wet and somehow simultaneously rubbery eggs with not even a hint of seasoning. Inattentive staff - not as single top on my drink, despite being right at the bar and paying $3 for a 6 ounce soft drink. Moreover, I ordered the tater tots and got the hoe fries. Not a great impression. Environment is a typical diner - noisy and cluttered. I will not be dining here again. read more

Went here for breakfast this morning. Very average food. The menu was very small compared to other HangOverEasy's. I ordered the avocado & toast. I thought the guacamole was terrible. The pico, eggs, and toast were decent. I liked the concept of this menu item but it was not good. My boyfriend had the western omelet which he said was decent. Always has been an enjoyable experience. Get there before peak hours or be prepared for a bit of a wait. Very friendly, efficient and attentive staff. It has a tendency to be quite loud. Went to the homecoming game with a buddy to visit his nephew and we stopped here for breakfast. I went with the "dirty" per the waitresses recommendation and it was extremely ok. I took off the queso as it was just too much. Overall it was a below average experience but the staff was great so 3*. The food was excellent, but management is a cluster ****! I ate there Saturday, October 15, 2022. The bill for four of us was $51.74, but they ran my credit card for just $32.43. We were at table #46 but they ran the card for table #33. I called Saturday afternoon to try and give them the $19.31 I was undercharged but was put on perma-hold and then disconnected. So I tried to send them a message on their website, but that system would not function. Its now Monday evening and again they refuse to answer their phone, even when their system says there are ZERO others in the cue. I'm done. They win. I'm keeping my $19.31. read more

Usually when I come here it's average. But this time I decided to take out and I went to go pick up the food at the exact time it was ready and when I when to go eat it at home everything was cold. I asked for sunny side eggs and got over hard. I also asked them to toast my bread and I got soggy, cold, Untoasted bread. And when I called to tell them there excuse was they were busy. Delicious breakfast spot with friendly staff and excellent service. Expect a short wait on weekends, particularly when OU has events. Worth every minute.
