We just moved to Las Vegas and while my wife is visiting family in Europe, I attempted to find somebody to hang 5 oversized mirrors and 7 pieces of art, while my wife was away (but consulted with her on placement via facetime, so I don't get in trouble) and before our furniture gets delivered. We called to have about fifteen pictures hung up on our walls surrounding the stairs of our two story house. The pictures have been collected over a number of years and we recently had the wherewithal to have them framed and hung. We really didn't have a concrete idea of just how to arrange them. Such a relief! The last thing I wanted to do after moving everything into my new place was hang my artwork and photos. I had about 45 pieces, many quite large (see him at my place in the last photo with him up high measuring in an alcove). I called Scott and he came with his team and it took them all day. Near the end I discovered that one of the larger paintings (4'x8') that was nearly 20' high on the wall was not quite perfectly centered and I'm a perfectionist. Do it on your own. I thought bringing in a "professional" would mean fewer mistakes; instead, there were more!! Extra holes from mis-measurement, lots of marks made on walls, uneven hangings. Uses large, wide nails even when not needed- and if you want to move something, there is noticeable damage to walls that could have been avoided. Also no aesthetic eye. read more

We had the best thing happen to us when I found Hanging Around Town in our community guide...hubby called Scott and he came out a few days later (arrived RIGHT ON TIME) and hung two curtain rods and drapes (both up higher than what we felt comfortable doing ourselves) and a large oil painting. Excellent! Scott returned the following week (arrived RIGHT ON TIME!) to work on the recessed lighting in the kitchen (needed to wear sunglasses when you put them on!)...he asked that we get dimmable soft white lights for the fixtures...the downlighting on the one ceiling fan would not work and were advised if we buy a replacement when getting the bulbs he would be out first thing Saturday morning. Right at 9:01 Scott arrived and in just over an hour we had kitchen lights that worked on the dimmer switch (no more sunglasses while cooking!) and the new fan installed and lookin' good.
