I needed some work done on furniture that dates back to the 1950's. My Mom passed away and I inherited her furniture, a kitchen table and chairs and a bedroom chest of draws, headboard, side tables and a small sittee. The furniture not only needed refinishing but a bit of restoring to bring it back to a condition that it could be used and enjoyed. I cannot say enough about Tim's work. I accidentally knocked an oil diffuser over onto the top of my very expensive bachelors chest. I sent a message to Tim, he responded right away. We met in town to grab my chest, he was flexible with pick up location and was on time. I didn't have paint so he had to do a custom match. I used this business for a repair on an antique chair and I couldn't have been more pleased! He was very quick to respond by asking for a picture. He quickly sent back a price and said he would pick up and deliver. After reading other reviews, I decided to use him to repair my husband's grandfather's beautiful chair. He came the next day to get it. He sent pictures as he repaired it so I could see the progress. We are VERY disappointed in the job that was done. When we first were quoted the price we were told that it would take 3 weeks. Since that was too close to our move date they told us that we would have it in 2. Expecting 2 weeks we were shocked that they wanted to deliver 4 days after they picked it up. Since we were moving we left it shrink wrapped. We saw that there were a few spots that needed to be touched up and had to request touch up paint for after the move. Now that we are in another state, 1200+ miles away, we have unwrapped them. The paint is extremely rough like the paint was applied over light sawdust. When we opened the compartment with doors that was supposed to be painted, all that was there was a thick layer of dust and massive overspray. I could have done better with a can of spray paint. I want to attach more pictures but the site only allows 4, there are many more problems! We paid good money to have this unit refinished and now we are going to have to pay to have it redone by someone else. We are thoroughly disgusted with the job Alexander's did for us. read more
