So excited to have discovered this fantastic BBQ place in Eufaula. The owner, The friendly owner, Luana, came over to our table to chat for a bit. Several new employees were starting that night and they were very eager and accommodating. I had the pork ribs, fried green tomatoes, fried deviled eggs, and cornbread. All were delicious. The fried green tomatoes were especially good ones, with thicker slices of tomato and just the right amount of well seasoned breading. The ribs were smoky , fall off the bone goodness. The BBQ sauce was good as well, a nice blend of tangy with a little sweetness but not too much. My husband had the brisket, not chopped, as another reviewer advised, baked beans, and fries. He thought the brisket was especially flavorful, smoky, and tender, liked the BBQ sauce very much, and thought the beans were quite good. All in all, one of the best BBQ places I've been to in OK! We are only here for 3 days, but we are coming back to try the burgers. This bbq is off the chain & the sides don't disappoint either. We had fall-off-the-bone meaty ribs with the best rub! We had brisket, pulled pork, bologna, smoked sausage and chicken. (So glad I was with a sharing group) Sides were Cowboy beans, fried pickles, onion rings, (whole) fried okra and fried deviled eggs. The owner is so kind she brought us Cowboy beans for free when my husband said he wished we'd ordered some. When the Cowboy Delight dessert was explained we knew we had to try it, but we were so full we took it home & it was scrumptious! Absolutely loved everything we tried. Super sweet gal who took our order and served us. The one star is due to the tiny sliced beef sandwich, the size of a Jr Burger, for $13.99. I was shocked at how little the sandwich was for the price. Really wanted to like this place due to the small town, family owned restaurant but unfortunately I won't be returning. read more

My goodness, but I found small-town America and it's Hangin 8 in Eufaula. The owner was related to the cashier, and between the two of them, I had conversation going for the entire time I was there. I learned a lot about, let's see: Oklahoma accents, the special cowboy beans, politics and COVID, and how crazy everyone says they are/aren't. It was... pretty crazy overall. But a lot of fun. These people are now my family! So that's the atmosphere. Let's talk food. They talked me into sliced brisket instead of chopped. It split apart as I cut it with my fork. Deep flavor in there - more of a yellow color than a pink color, but I don't care what color it is with that taste and texture. The ribs literally fell off the bone as I tried to eat them. Super succulent. This place absolutely nails BBQ. And the sides? Fried okra is whole okra instead of chopped, and I must say, with more vegetable and less breading, I really liked that. It went with the BBQ sauce or their "house dressing". (They really pushed the house dressing. Actually, they really pushed all the food. They gave me a sample of the loaded potato salad and the cowboy beans, and they almost gave me a free deep-fried deviled egg to try as well!) As for the cowboy beans, they are basically half bean, half sausage. Meat lovers rejoice! Cornbread was good (opted instead of bread), spicy BBQ sauce was only a little spicy but that's OK, the sweet tea wasn't too sweet, it was just right. I sampled the Italian cream cake for dessert. It was a unique combination of dense (the cream) and light (the cake). I might have preferred the cheesecake, but this was decently good. I kinda wanted banana pudding or a more "southern" dessert, but I was afraid if I mentioned anything I'd start a squabble! I was already family by this point and wanted to be the good uncle. (This is half in jest.) Verdict: It's just outside downtown. Look for it one block over. Eat. Lunch. Dinner. Stay awhile. Come prepared to talk up a storm. I was camping at Belle Starr Campground and decided to drive into Eufaula and try out the Hangin 8 BBQ. It was a quaint little restaurant and the food was delicious. I had the sampler platter and added ribs so I could take some back to camp. It was all delicious. I had the deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes as my sides. They were both really good especially with a little of the house dressing on them. The owner and employees were all very friendly! I will definitely visit again when I'm in the area. read more

Wow! Wanted to try something new while in town from OKC. This place can hang with the big boys. Wish I had remembered to take photos. We had the daily special. Something they call 'chicken ribs' so good. Smoked chicken thighs then fried to crisp the skin up and slathered in a honey bbq sauce. Whole battered fried okra and made to order fresh cut French fries. Then a cornbread cake with a side of honey butter. There was nothing to not love. Cant wait to go back and try something new. Husband got a pulled pork sandwich and cowboy delight for a treat afterwards and he was making all kinds of yummy noises while eating. Surprised he didn't lick his plate. Great owners and atmosphere. Food was great! Brisket melts in your mouth. My daughter loved the Mac 'n cheese. My husband was super excited over the fried deviled eggs and they did not disappoint.
