We were sent here for a cranial helmet for my son after another cranial center was out of our insurance network. We were skeptical at first after reading reviews, but instantly felt such relief after our first appointment. We've been working with Ron Favors, who is not only knowledgeable but extremely personable as well, it truly feels like you're talking to a friend. He explained every step of the process and was open about the possible cost depending on what insurance would and would not cover, both things that we really didn't get detailed information on at the first cranial center. Our son received his helmet this week and we are able to start this somewhat scary process with full confidence after working with Ron. Very grateful for him and everyone working at this clinic. My daughter has severe scoliosis and is in need of a back brace. We went to this clinic well over a month ago for measurements and still no brace. We have been rescheduled twice with them stating the insurance company is to blame for the delays. I called the insurance company and they stated that the first time Hanger waited till 2 days before her appointment to request auth! The second time my insurance stated Hanger has not submitted the proper documentation for them to approve the brace. This means that Hanger staff never submitted the x-rays to the insurance. This should be standard practice for them and it was not done. Seriously disappointed in this company as again my daughter has to wait for some relief. read more

Do not go to Hanger Clinic on 14021 N. 51st AVE, SUTE 125, Glendale if you have AHCCCS. First, they will state you do not have an appointment, although, I received a text message confirming it. Next they have all kinds of additional paper work, that no one in the Clinic bothers to tell you about. I talk to this clinic 2 separate times. No one bother to ask what kind of insurance I had. Nor what informed me of the additional paperwork I needed. They are very condensing over the phone. I worked for 40 years until I became a diabetic, two years ago. I do not appreciate being treated less than. I worked in the healthcare system for 23. I have seen and heard how a "work around" is employed when a place of business does not want to deal with people on AHCCCS. I guess it non issues to them if a diabetic does not get a pair of shoes which are badly needed. Please do not go to this clinic to get diabetic shoes. Especially if you are low income. read more

Called and was on hold forever. Finally went in to get measured for compression stockings and when they told me what it would cost ($300 to $900 bucks), I lost it. So I did some research and found www.rescuelegs.com who took my measurements and special problems into account and ordered stockings from them. Cost total with delivery, $34.88. Great compression stockings. I strongly suggest that Hanger do some research and refer patients to suppliers the patients can afford. read more

Hanger has been an asset helping with my wife's recovery from a leg amputation. Because it was a planned amputation, Hanger's tech met with her to discuss the process and provide resource information before surgery. Every visit has addressed emerging issues as the healing and physical therapy process continues. We are both pleased with the courteous and thoughtful discussion of the prosthetic fit. The technician discusses what will be next and how to prepare or deal with the changes. Appointments are prompt without having to wait more than a few minutes. The parking lot is pretty full as the industrial strip center this office is in has mostly medical offices serving patients. There are many handicap parking spaces but most are usually taken. Hanger is definitely a destination business. You would not just drop by for the services they provide. It is a bit hard to find but driving around the perimeter of the office complex you will come across it. The suite is clearly marked with a large sign if you pass by. Couldn't be happier with the service and quality of the prosthetic they built. The bionic look is in these days. Insurance will pay for cosmetic cover and skin color matching, but we may not so that. read more

Like I said the waiting room was empty. But oh my, behind the glass was a whold office full of cackling hens just lauging and talking away. I stood there wondering if was looking into an interrogation room because I could see in but they couldnt even look my way. Well anyway ended up leaving I really did not need a knee brace that bad. Amazing staff. Due to a recent leg amputation, I came here to get a prosthetic. Every step of the way has been educational and supportive. After an unexpected loss of this nature, I wasn't keen on dealing with more doctors but these guys made my transition back to mobility a great experience. The physician that I see is incredibly knowledgeable and proficient while the office staff is always warm and friendly. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work with the Hanger family. They are most certainly responsible for my recovery both physically and mentally. (I see a few critical reviews on here which surprised me. This place is awful. I got there at about 10 minutes to five and the woman behind the desk was very rude(guess she was mad that I got there 10 minutes before closing) while I was waiting I could her the old grumpy hen bitching about me coming in so late. They said I had to have it approved by my insurance so I got fitted for a knee brace and they said they would call me. They never did call me back so I called them a week and a half later and had to give all my info again and wow I get a notice from my insurance that it is approved the next day. They still two days later have not called me. So I am going there this morning to get my brace. And I will be contacting there corporate offices and letting them know how awful there people at this location are. If you can go somewhere else you should. read more

I saw the story on the news how they helped a young girl who was affected by the No. CA fires and replaced her prosthetics for free. I used Hanger when I had a surgery and they provided me with an air cast and had a positive experience. I just wish they rented knee walkers! I had to pay out of pocked but it was a necessity After my surgery. Kudos to Hanger for giving back to a needy child! read more

One star only because I can't leave a review for none. Our doctor office sent through the prescription for the ankle brace for drop foot (which we verified). I was told to call them if no appt set up in 2 weeks. I called them, the girl was rude, acted as if I was an inconvenience, said she didn't know anything about it. It needed to be under them is year's insurance or won't be covered and she rudely just said, it won't be. The customer service over the phone was very rude. I wouldn't use them based on, if that is their baseline of service they stink. This is a business that sb responsible for a prosthetic and fit and can't even be helpful for the service. I was referred to this clinic by a PA. Supposedly my 6 month old needed a helmet. The specialist who saw us said her head is fine and we should wait a month to see if anything changes. Two days later they called and said your insurance is covering the helmet would you like to come in to size it for your child. I said no I will wait a month like the specialist suggested. Went I took my daughter to her one month follow up the specialist started sizing her helmet right away. I asked I thought you said she didn't need it he said she does. So I got a second opinion from my daughters pedestrian and she said there is nothing wrong with her head the clinic just wants to make money. That's why they said no at first then yes when the insurance went through. ITS A SHAME WHAT PEOPLE WILL DO TO BABIES AND FAMILIES JUST TO MAKE MONEY!!! read more

I was seen there for compression stockings. The appointment went good but they had to order the one I needed. I was told it would only be a couple of days and they would ship it to the Avondale office. A week later I call and am told it did come in last Thursday but was never called. Then told it did not make the courier service on Friday!!!! So now it will be sent out this Friday, over a week late. Do not expect them to call you with any updates and do not leave any phone messages as they do not get returned either. read more

DO NOT GO TO THE GLENDALE LOCATION!!! The location in Glendale is terrible. The office was empty when I went in, yet, I could not get an appointment for another two weeks to get in for a fitting. While I was there, they were rude to an elder white man who came to pick up his wife's order. They had sent it back although she had called, and told them she was homebound, and asked them to hold it for her. The poor man stood outside, nearly in tears, as he too looked sick. Finally I had my appointmen, and then told me it would take seven to ten business days for them to receive the item, and I would then have to make second appointment for another "fitting" . I complained stating that it was taking too long. I dealt with Alma who hung up on me once I told her I wanted to pick up my item, no more fittings, and I could get in faster to see my own doctor than their "fitters" Then I spoke to a Katrina who told me that they could not guarantee their product unless I had the second fitting so it would not be possible to take it home and return if it didn't fit. Then Katrina gave me her bosses name, Dave McCallmont (but refused to give her last name, as she said she doesn't have to), and I have not heard from him yet. read more

Terribly managed, extremely long wait times. Prepare to wait very long in the waiting room (hour+). Then, expect to not receive your custom or non-custom brace for two weeks which by then you usually don't need it. What's baffling is how the manager and/or company lets this location operate so poorly. They say you can make an appointment but then they inform you they are booked for about four weeks out. So basically, no appointments. And while the staff that measures you are running ragged, the front office gals are busy chatting with each other instead of being productive like getting insurance authorization! So they trap you into having to come back and wait all over again because they won't give you any braces/items without first getting insurance authorization (which they COULD do while you're in the waiting room). The lazy way of not having to bill a client. I have previously worked in an outpatient hand clinic (therapist) and it was very organized, appointments like normal treatment clinics and managed professionally. I gave this outfit a second chance (for the benefit of a doubt), and had the exact same results. And the manager is full of excuses. I will never go back to this business and I am going to relay this information to my orthopedic doctor who referred me there. read more

Rude staff. Check in wont make eye contact. Abrupt conversation that interrupts your sentences, doesn't listen. Body language and verbal tone that makes you feel like they couldn't give a crap you are there. When calling you back to a room they fling reception door open, yell your name and start to walk off swiftly. This is an orthopedic and prosthetic clinic. Most couldn't keep up with the staff pace. Just a horrible place. Now if you want to feel like cattle being set for slaughtered go for it. But otherwise choose a diff location. This place should be embarrassed as medical "professionals". read more
