If I could give no stars, I would. Hiring Ricky, a referral from Jason Phegley, was an absolute nightmare. He arrived in a run-down truck that appeared to be his makeshift home. I should have trusted my instincts and turned him away right then.
Ricky was hired to remodel my kitchen, but he turned my home into a disaster zone. He made endless mistakes, from unevenly installed cabinets to incorrectly wired appliances. It was clear that Ricky was not in a fit state to work, and I suspect he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
His unprofessionalism didn't stop at his shoddy work. Every time I pointed out a mistake, Ricky had an excuse at the ready. According to him, the cabinets were uneven because of my floor, and the appliances weren't working because they were cheap. It was never his fault.
Then came the demands for more money. Ricky claimed he had underestimated the cost of the project and needed more to complete it. When I refused, he became hostile and tried to shift the blame onto me.
To make matters worse, I started finding beer bottles hidden around my property. Even more concerning were the rolled-up dollar bills and tiny bags I found, which suggested possible cocaine use. This was the last straw.
During Ricky's time at my home, several items also went missing. While I can't prove it was him, the evidence points in his direction. Jason later confirmed that Ricky had stolen from him as well.
I discovered a YouTube video: https://youtu.be/MTNH72e9d6I about Ricky's behavior, and it confirmed my worst fears. Ricky isn't a professional handyman. He's a con artist who exploits people's trust.
I strongly advise against hiring Ricky for any job, big or small. Save yourself the headache and find a professional who will respect your home and your trust. read more
