I called in the fall for a quote on interior painting and exterior wood rot. I was most concerned with the wood rot getting repaired before it was too cold to paint. He offered to come on Saturday to see the problem. He never showed. Fast forward to spring. I messaged for an estimate on interior painting and exterior wood rot and several days later I got a message back that for $50 he could arrange to come by. It's all good! Update: spoke with Justin again and he laughed when I said that I continue to think this is terrible customer service but I realize I have no choice but to pay the $106 they charged me for doing nothing. I tend to think that people are generally good but this company continues amaze me with how rude and shady they are. What an absolutely awful experience. We requested a service and the tech arrived and told us that he was unable to install the toilet due to current construction which I described in my request. First they tried to charge me $150 for the visit and then knocked it down to 106. This is absolutely ridiculous. They did absolutely nothing and charged me $106. When I called to try to talk to the "operations manager", Justin, he could not have been more rude and inflexible. He was very condescending and I would never recommend this company to anyone. Handyman on purpose was recommended to us by a neighbor. So I called and contacted them via their site. For 2 weeks nothing. Then the 3rd week they called and we see up an appointment for a quote. They cancelled the day of. So we rescheduled for the following Friday, no call no show. Please avoid at all cost. read more

Called to get a quote on picking up a new dishwasher, removing and installing a new dishwasher. $423.88. They were very fast in offering a quote and talk me through the quote and scheduling. They arrived early which was GREAT. They got everything hooked up (ish), but couldn't actually finish installing the dishwasher because said I needed floor tile trimmed to fit the dish washer under. The water wasn't turned back on before they left. When I turned water back on under the sink. The line wasn't connected all the way and water sprayed EVERYWHERE. So, I moved the dishwasher that was partially under the counter, and unhooked the water supply and then re-hooked everything back up, and then turned the water back on. Seems to be working. Still have to finish the installation that I paid $423.88 for... Bummed it isn't fully installed, wished they would have turned the water back on just to make sure water was flowing properly. UPDATE ---- a tile person came ... an additional 100.00. They didn't have to remove tile. They took out a wood piece at the top, which I recommend doing when the H.O.P were here, which they said not to because it would ruin the integrity of the counter. The tile people said that was wrong, just looking under the counter would show what you could and couldn't do and the thin piece could just come out and then go back. So, the tile guy cut the piece, pushed the dishwasher in...about three minutes... I remounted the removed wood piece, and I installed the dishwasher mounts, I can't get the kick plate, but at this point... I don't care. Basically did 40% of the job myself, and that is after I re-hooked up the dishwasher that wasn't connected all the way ( see above). I paid for a entire removal and install, that I was left to complete. Kind of feel like I should get some money back. Nice guys, but I'm out 423.00, put in an addition 100.00 for a second person to tell me that what needs to happen is what I initially recommended. Kind of disappointed -- that was a lot of money for a dishwasher install.... That I actually did a lot of the work myself to complete. Nice guys, but I'm out a chunk of money for.... We mentioned before we started that we would not cut the cabinets or the tile and you asked that we move forward knowing that there was a risk that we would not be able to install the dishwasher fully. We apologized for the mistake made in hooking up the water, as we should have checked it before leaving, and offered to come back out and fix that, you refused. We also offered to come back out once the dishwasher was in place to complete the installation per our agreement at no additional charge, but we didn't hear from you again. If you had called to discuss a refund we would have been open to it. Instead you make vulgar gestures at my employee and update your review. We do our best to be responsive, reasonable, and professional when given the chance. I never refused your assistance or return to my home. I called your office to say that water was coming from the back of my washer and I needed you to return. The office representative said they would reach out to have you return and call me back. I waited over an hour and then fix the issue myself. I called back and said I fixed it myself and I did not need you to return. I never argued...I never once was vulgar. As a Deacon at my church, I am greatly hurt that you would even suggest that I was vulgar. I never argued or raised my voice. I called to get an additional referral for a tile person as the one you recommended was surprised that they were recommended. I later called your office and very politely said I found someone to look at the tile. I did not argue, I did not raise my voice, nor was I vulgar. I take great offense to the suggestion. I was cordial to your guys that came to my home. I was cordial to the employees on the phone. If you are interested in offering a refund or partial refund, you certainly have my address. You did say you could come back to push the dishwasher in -- should you need to but the tile people could do it and I could anchor the washer in myself as it was easy to do... you then pointed to the remaining installation items. As for the cabinet and cutting. I only have stated that the solution to finally install my dishwasher by the second professional was what I initially suggested. DO NOT USE OR WORK FOR HANDYMAN ON A PURPOSE CLAYTON NC. I hired this company for a few projects in my house. Their contractors and employees do shoddy work and charge (or try) when asked to come out to correct/finish work. Missed top and bottom when painting shutter, didn't prep work or use edging tape, multiple unnecessary holes in walls when mounting because missed stubs and left uneven, improperly installed doors and door jams. Will try to take advantage of women. And they call this going over and beyond. Customers should not be penalized for addressing work that was missed or done improperly. Especially loyal returning customers. Lesson learned. AVOID AVOID AVOID! read more

Don't hire this company for carpentry work. They were unable to properly hang a pair of double doors, left dirty fingerprints and pencil marks all over the front of these just-painted doors and the doors were askew. Will initially cut the notches for the hinges on the wrong side of the door and I had to point out that he had it backwards where the front of the doors would have been facing the *inside* of the pantry. Will and the other workman were unable to figure out how to properly cut and install kitchen wall cabinet filler after days of measuring and moving the cabinets. They insisted that the cabinet moulding could not be centered over the cabinets unless they moved the cabinets *again* and at that point I told them to just stop. They left sawdust all over the driveway despite having a broom to clean up after themselves. The workmen were friendly but obviously amateurs. The owner Joey offered to take 10% off the bill which still left over $1000 I had to pay for shoddy workmanship. read more
