After doing such a great job on a new roof at our rental, we contracted again with Robin and his team to remodel a master bathroom at the same property. The bathroom needed a complete upgrade with a new bathtub, vanity, toilet, new exhaust fan+vent/light (no exhaust fan before), new fixtures, new tile/accent around tub, and paint. Robin's team (Nelson and Tony) demo'd the bathroom in one day. Then replaced rotted wood, sweated in a new shower valve, and replaced a roached out bathtub drain with a new one. They also replaced a toilet in a small half bathroom. Plus all new water shutoff valves were installed. They don't cut corners and made sure the job is done correctly. I personally saw the extra time they put in to ensure quality work. The complete remodel was completed in less than 2 weeks. I would give the handyman, robin Adair zero stars if possible. this is due to his violent nature and attitude. what transpired was the following: When I first hired Robin Adair it was to complete a $14000 job an my house in fontana. according to the contractor license board a contractor can only charge you 10% to begin a job. robin Adair insisted on receiving $5000. he wanted two checks for $2500 so he could cash them immediately. This should have been a red flag warning according to the State contractor's licensing board. Robin Adair wrote up the contracted advised me that he could be paid upon completion of the job. As the job progressed and we were almost completed I owed robin Adair a balance of $2425. Upon arriving at my house I noticed the job had not been completed. When I told Robin I would pay him the balance upon completion, he became very upset. he started yelling and calling me an Asshole. Robin then said let step out back to which I asked him if he was threatening me. Robin Adair then proceeded outside to call one of his workers to respond and make the repairs which had not been complete. Because of Robin Adair violent attitude toward me I proceeded to the Fontana Police Station to make a threat against me report. I advised Fontana Police that I did not want to have Robin Adair arrested but that I did want a report on file in the event Robin Adair would do something stupid. Fontana Police Department issued me their case #20114418 involving this incident. The reason I am listing this occurrence so that in the event you decide to employ Robin Adair, just be aware that he does appear to have problems with anger management and make sure he only charges 10% to start your job. This is what is required by the State contractor license board. also make sure he fully understands the part of the contract where he will be compensated upon completion of the job. also be aware that during the job, he could fly off the handle and pose a problem for you. If he should just remember that a report has already been filed with the Fontana Police Department. Their case #20114418. It's terrible to observe an adult individual act like a child. it should also be noted that upon inspection I discovered two hole in the master bedroom bathroom which had not been repaired. He showed up without a mask and was dressed like a transient. his workers also did not were masks. besides overcharging, he will also lie to you about the job being done. He will not want you present while the job is being done.
