First, he was the only one to showed up when he said he would at our mutually agreed to date and time. Second, his estimate was the only clear and detailed estimate and subsequent contract we received. He listened to what we said we wanted done and everything we wanted done was reflected in his bid estimate. The others were late or they changed dates and times for our meeting to receive a bid. They also didn't include everything we requested in the bid. As for the quality of the job performed by his team . . . OUTSTANDING in every way. I honestly believe our home looks better than the day we finished building it years ago. Friends have commented stating the same thing! Who knew a great paint job could have that kind of impact. I'd like to give a special shout-out to the team member who did the taping prior to the painting because it resulted in nice sharp contrasting straight-edges between colors. Really fantastic. The crew arrived to start the work when Kevin indicated they would be here and finished the entire job in 3 days. They are early to start, and they work late to take advantage of the daylight and better weather days. At the end of the job, they cleared all evidence that they were ever here - - no tarps, plastics, tape, garbage, etc. left behind. Superior job on clean-up after the paint job. If you are looking for an honest and highly competitive contractor with a hardworking and detailed-oriented crew, KG Construction is your team. In the fall, we will be bringing them back to do some inside painting for us. We would have had them continue after the exterior job was completed, but during the late spring and summertime they concentrate on exterior painting to take advantage of the better weather. Used him again for a different kind of job - replacing an in-wall air-conditioner. He was very good…read moreat responding to text messages, worked us in quickly, and was flexible when Home Depot delayed our order. He was also very good at fitting the new AC into the space for the old one and ensuring it was sealed and weather proofed. However, when he finished the work, he left large boxes and packing materials scattered where he opened them and filling our kitchen floor and on the dining room table. He didn't do anything to organize the mess or break down the boxes. He said most of it was recyclable and he wouldn't do anything with it. Left us to clean up after he left and figure out how to manage and get rid of these large heavy boxes. Additionally, he had put the old AC on our deck. We asked if he would recycle the old AC and he agreed - charging us an additional $200 to take it. When he put it on our deck, it left piles of black (not sure what) that we had to clean after he left. Additionally, I had purchased a new bracket to support the new air-conditioner. He decided without consulting me to use the old bracket instead. (Hopefully it last for the long run!)

One of the major project he did for me is to replace both my air ventilation in both my bathroom fan. They both had given up and it's just flat out old so it was time to upgrade. He did a fantastic job on those 2 units. I also got him to redo my bathroom tub caulking . The previous guys claim over 9 years of lifetime, it was less than 10 months. So don't buy into those who offer these crazy lifetime on your bathroom caulking. TK did my tub caulking and told me the truth, "maybe a year " he said which is exactly what I got from the previous people that claimed 9 years ‍. I'm already looking at a few new smaller projects for him to get started soon. I just want to pile it up so I can take up an entire day. I will be using TK soon!

Hardwoods - we had red oak mixed with carpet, stone, and laminate. They pulled the carpet, stone, and laminate and weaved new red oak into our existing red oak and stained it dark. At the time, we had a 2yr old toddler and they did the job quickly and cleanly, leaving the home livable and safe after each day of work. They even took care of a dead raccoon for us (story for another day haha). Kitchen - they remodeled our entire kitchen in 2.5 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, allowing us to host our family in a brand new space. Scott and his team do design work and ordering, but we opted to get our design and cabinets through Lowes bc we wanted to take advantage of a sale. Scott and Tyler then took all the design mocks and materials and implemented them in our home and customized things along the way (backsplash, waterfall counter, moulding, lighting, etc.). They did it with so much care and attention to detail and took feedback every step of the way. Never was it challenging to talk through options or make corrections. He truly just wants to give you something you'll love. And again, they left our place clean and liveable every single night for those 2.5 weeks. He kept the oven range plugged in every day, never any loose material, not dusty at all, and completely safe for our small children. My wife also made a comment that she never once saw anyone's ass crack haha. So, take that as another plus in working with Scott and his team!
