In November this year (2020), we had a badly leaking kitchen sewer line and the kitchen sink could not be used for several days. I originally had a plumber come but he was not able to replace it because the sewer line was behind the air duct and not accessible. I made an appointment 3 weeks in advance of the project date (this past Wednesday). The night before, I sent a request for confirmation - no reply. In the morning, I texted an hour before he was supposed to show up and called fifteen minutes after our agreed time - no reply. He called back an hour later to tell me he booked over my appointment, and asked me to reschedule. We agreed on 8:30am today (Saturday), and the same story repeated itself. When we bought our house, the door of one of the bedrooms was sticking pretty bad to the door jamb. This was a while ago, but we didn't fix it until now because we were not using the room. Now that we are making it a guest room, I called SDV Construction and sent a few photos to explain the problem. While the quote was just slightly higher than one of the other two contractors I called, he made time to accommodate for next day service, arrived on time, was very respectful and did a great job. The trim had to be removed, and the whole frame adjusted for everything to align correctly. A second door was just not latching easily, and was a much easier fix. Both doors were fixed in about 1.5hrs, and I'm very happy with the results, the quality of the work and overall service. The job was a minor kitchen remodel; countertops, floor, minor drywall and construction (cabinet removal, lower counter in one area). I waited two weeks for an estimate that never came.
