One of the two required springs snapped, fortunately nobody was injured. IDC measured the springs…read moreand mentioned they "clamped" the broken spring so the garage door could be utilized. The next day, the clamp slipped and the door slammed down just after my daughter entered the garage. If the two car garage door did manage to fall on her, she would be severely injured and pinned by the door, until at least two people could lift the door up. I mentioned this to the receptionist and she responded with "it's a temporary fix", dismissing my concern. After looking at the receipt, it mentions "A clamped spring is a temporary repair. Due to safety guidelines, IDC Automatic will not RE-CLAMP a broken spring under any circumstance." If you state that you won't re-clamp a broken spring, then why would you even initially clamp a broke spring to begin with? By your own admission, the temporary clamp will slip. Why set this scenario up; and have the temporary clamp slip causing an approximately 600 lb door to fall on a child? The logic escapes me.

Before the project began he asked for more money to ensure he did not damage the driveway. This should have been a red flag but after stating we talked about not damaging the driveway and that should have been in your quote we moved forward. I reminded his foreman the concrete must slope away from the home. After job completion it was pretty clear the concrete was not sloped properly. Micah his foreman assured me it was. After the stain dried I put a level on the concrete and it is indeed pitching at my house. That was over a month ago. No resolution and a " stamped concrete has irregularities " is where we are at. They have $5,916.00 and the work was not done correctly. Buyer BEWARE! I am seeking a solution still but at this point I do not trust they will do what they say they are going to do.

That alone should let you know how we feel about their superior work and professionalism. For this project we wanted to install hardwood floors in our living room and upstairs landing. We just wanted to tie all the rooms together since Dave's did another job about a year ago. Everything is simple from the quote, demolition, installation and sanding to the finish. Communication is great and you always know where they are in the progress. Absolutely no surprises is the 3 times we have used them. Kelly did our second job and we requested him to do this job too. He is the absolute best. A perfectionist and super cool guy. Another awesome job by Dave's Flooring and the only flooring company I recommend to my friends.

We used Norton Homes to build our new construction house. We felt so comfortable working with them…read moreand could tell they cared about what we wanted. They were flexible with our decisions, and they allow you to truly design a customized home. We even got to pick a lot that wasn't in one of their developments. There are so many "upscale" features that come standard with many of their models that we hardly had to upgrade anything (which saves a lot of money compared to national builders). They were also right on schedule. We recommend them to any of our friends looking for houses.

Top Shelf did our roof last August and was easy to work with. They were the only company that was…read morewilling to actually try to work with us to get the roof replaced by insurance where other companies were 50/50 on whether the damage was "enough" to get a claim filed. After coming out and looking at the roof they said for sure it would be a claim and worked to get it pushed through. Day of the job they came out and were very efficient in the work they did, even when they had to get some new plywood to fill in areas on the roof where the previous roofers had not filled the sheathing all the way to the facia boards which created a slight delay but they were still able to get the whole roof done in the course of one day. After they left we found a couple nails here and there (which is to be expected) and thought their clean up was excellent when you think of how many thousands of nails they had to pull from the previous roof they were replacing. Very happy with the work they have done and the extra leg they went working with the insurance side of things to get our nearly 30 year old 3 tab roof replaced with very nice looking upgraded and updated IKO architectural shingles.

Presly and First Choice Handyman LLC were recommended to us summer 2022 by a real estate agent who…read moreused their services himself. We had some outdoor fascia trim that had rotted in some places, and had peeling paint in others. The parts on the second floor were notably harder to get to. We ran into a busy time for First Choice Handyman, so it took a few weeks to get on their schedule. However, it was definitely worth waiting for. Presly and Darius arrived when scheduled, cut out the trim portions that needed replacement and replaced them, painted these new pieces and any sections needing some additional painting, and finished in less time than originally estimated. So, the final price ended a little less than quoted! Kelsey started handling scheduling and communications more recently, and her responsiveness has been fantastic. We recently had them out to do a multitude of smaller repairs, and they were quick, thorough, and efficient. Definitely a winner!

I regret hiring them to build a screened in porch…read more The quality of work is poor. Parts of the construction are failing less than two years after construction. The roof already leaks and they say they'll try to fix it if we sign a new contract with them. They say it's ice dams but cannot explain why the leaks occurred when there was neither ice nor snow near the seam they say is leaking. The exterior door repeatedly sagged and could not be opened. They came out to fix the door this summer (after many phone calls over a period of months) and nailed a big plywood board over the screen door to strengthen it - that's the permanent solution. The current door and frame are still both visibly crooked. It looks completely unprofessional and we feel like we're going to need to hire another professional to have the door reframed and replaced. The porch was not built according to the original agreement. We paid for helical screw pilings, but Miller Construction switched to cheaper concrete pilings without any notification, did not offer a refund for the difference in cost, and would not talk to us during construction to discuss the situation despite repeated requests. We paid for insulation throughout the addition, but the building was not framed to allow space for insulation in many sections of the room, so we have an addition that is only partially insulated. The communication with Miller Construction has always been poor. We've had multiple promises to call or come out to look at the various issues, but the promises are rarely kept. For the first few months after contracting with us, communication was so lacking we seriously questioned whether the company had run off with the initial payment. They hadn't, but they didn't reach out to us until months later when a crew showed up at the house unannounced. I wouldn't hire them again.
