That future porch wasn't just a verbal discussion--it was specifically included in my contract and was a major reason I chose this company. Unfortunately, the workmanship has been disappointing from the beginning. The deck boards are uneven and improperly installed, allowing water to pool and collect against the house. There are noticeable gaps in trim and wrapping, the stairs have settled and developed a dip that has caused the railing to bow, and even the stair lights have begun pulling out because of the movement. Whenever I raised concerns, I was repeatedly told everything looked fine or that I needed to wait over a year for the deck to "settle." When the problems continued, the responsibility shifted to me instead of the workmanship. The most disappointing discovery came later. I recently learned that the deck did not pass the county requirements for supporting the future four-season porch that was included in my contract. I now have to spend thousands of additional dollars correcting work that should have been completed properly from the start. What frustrates me most isn't that problems occurred--construction projects can have issues. It's the unwillingness to accept responsibility and the repeated attempts to explain away legitimate concerns rather than deliver the quality and contractual obligations I paid for. For such a significant investment, I expected quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a company that would stand behind its work. Instead, I was left with ongoing workmanship issues, additional unexpected expenses, and a deck that has fallen well short of what was promised. There was great up front communication in reviewing what I wanted to do, and we came up with a plan for purchasing materials and having him do the project. Note this was more of a custom job with pre-determined kits from a retailer, so not a typical project he's worked on, but he assured me multiple times that he could do the project with no issues. Unfortunately, once he started things took a turn. The instructions weren't followed, measurements were off, permit wasn't pulled, and there were multiple other issues that came up that resulted in me having to fire him and hire someone else. We did come up with an exit agreement in terms of fixing repairs and covering damages which was much appreciated. If you're looking for general fence repair, and/or a standard fence install, I would recommend. Just make sure you do you homework, sign a contract, and ensure permit is pulled.
