All work completed on my home is excellent and good old fashioned quality. Nolan went out of his way to make sure that the doors & windows that needed to be replaced were exactly what I wanted; when a door didn't look exactly as Nolan had envisioned, he replaced the door with a door he knew I would like. It is difficult in this day and age to find someone as ethical. There were many things that Nolan and his staff did for me that were not in his bid, always taking the work the extra mile. One day I forgot to put my dog in her kennel; when I cam home the guys had taken her out to do her business and put her in the kennel for me. We'd already had plans drawn…read moreup by an architect friend and the point of the remodel was to remove the original brick and concrete entry, that was falling in due to ice heaving, and replace it with a wooden deck with storage underneath. We'd taken care of the demo and landscaping to prep the site. Chad and his crew took it from there and did a really fabulous job. We have a challenging site because of heavy clay soil and large tree roots. They carefully set the posts and quickly got to work - late in the fall - on putting up the structure. The deck went up quickly and they did everything - including the horizontal privacy cladding, a custom bumpout to integrate the new deck into the 70s house, a custom double swing door to access the storage space, and a custom railing using wire panel - exactly to spec and with a high degree of craftsmanship. Chad and his crew were always timely, courteous, and did a great job cleaning up the worksite each day. We really appreciate the great work they did and have already been so thankful to finally be able to store some unsightly items out of the way and can't wait until spring when we paint the house and stain the deck. Finally, as a female homeowner, I really appreciated that they recognized that I was the person in the equation who cared most about the outcome of the project, who had the strongest viewpoints on the design decisions, and who needed to be consulted as the project went along. I would not recommend Dupont Decks based on my experience…read more I invested nearly $55,000 in a custom deck, including paying thousands of dollars extra for the structural requirements necessary to support a future four-season porch. That future porch wasn't just a verbal discussion--it was specifically included in my contract and was a major reason I chose this company. Unfortunately, the workmanship has been disappointing from the beginning. The deck boards are uneven and improperly installed, allowing water to pool and collect against the house. There are noticeable gaps in trim and wrapping, the stairs have settled and developed a dip that has caused the railing to bow, and even the stair lights have begun pulling out because of the movement. Whenever I raised concerns, I was repeatedly told everything looked fine or that I needed to wait over a year for the deck to "settle." When the problems continued, the responsibility shifted to me instead of the workmanship. The most disappointing discovery came later. I recently learned that the deck did not pass the county requirements for supporting the future four-season porch that was included in my contract. I now have to spend thousands of additional dollars correcting work that should have been completed properly from the start. What frustrates me most isn't that problems occurred--construction projects can have issues. It's the unwillingness to accept responsibility and the repeated attempts to explain away legitimate concerns rather than deliver the quality and contractual obligations I paid for. For such a significant investment, I expected quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a company that would stand behind its work. Instead, I was left with ongoing workmanship issues, additional unexpected expenses, and a deck that has fallen well short of what was promised. Top Shelf did our roof last August and was easy to work with. They were the only company that was…read morewilling to actually try to work with us to get the roof replaced by insurance where other companies were 50/50 on whether the damage was "enough" to get a claim filed. After coming out and looking at the roof they said for sure it would be a claim and worked to get it pushed through. Day of the job they came out and were very efficient in the work they did, even when they had to get some new plywood to fill in areas on the roof where the previous roofers had not filled the sheathing all the way to the facia boards which created a slight delay but they were still able to get the whole roof done in the course of one day. After they left we found a couple nails here and there (which is to be expected) and thought their clean up was excellent when you think of how many thousands of nails they had to pull from the previous roof they were replacing. Very happy with the work they have done and the extra leg they went working with the insurance side of things to get our nearly 30 year old 3 tab roof replaced with very nice looking upgraded and updated IKO architectural shingles.
