He tore down an old closet and removed a door to give us a flat back wall for a new built-in, framed and drywalled around a lava rock wall so we could install an AC unit, and covered up a CMU wall to give it a clean, smooth look. He also helped with a few smaller fixes along the way without any fuss. He showed up on time, worked quickly, and paid close attention to the details. The work areas were kept tidy every day, and he explained what he was doing so we always knew the plan. What stood out most was how versatile and skilled he is--he handled framing, drywall, and finish work all in one go. He's easy to talk to, gives honest feedback, and genuinely wants the end result to look good. We're really happy with how everything turned out and will definitely be calling him again for future projects. Highly recommend.

Our new home is roughly 500 sqft and we had a tight, 2-week moving window. We're so grateful to find Johnny, with ABC Handyman Hawaiʻi. He was punctual, meticulous, and we are so HAPPY with the results! I shopped around and received quotes from 6 different handyman, paint, and ceiling restoration companies and Johnny responded to me super quickly and ran through the end-to-end process of work to be done. My partner and I were sold by how detail-oriented he was in explaining the materials he would use and all the safety considerations we should pay attention to as new homeowners. Our goal was to get a high quality, skim coat ceiling that matched our walls and Johnny delivered. He ended up skimming 16 gallons of drywall compound onto our scraped off ceiling, he did the priming and painting, plus he did all the repairs on the wall and helped us reinstall lights and other ceiling fixtures. He also spotted that our kitchen cabinets were barely hanging on by a loose screw and made time in his schedule to secure those for us as well! We really enjoyed working with ABC Handyman, we wanted the best and we got the best. Mahalo Johnny!

I have worked with many handyman services and to be honest, most of them are good but not great. They do a decent job and sometimes they can't finish the job and then what? I have to finish it myself or hire someone else. Most of them don't return calls. You would be amazed how many don't return calls. I mean simple communication goes a long way. I didn't find Hideki, my wife did. I tried the usual Yelp searches and called a few. I filled out request forms and then never got a call back. One of them insisted that all I needed was a tool. Despite knowing the tool wouldn't work, I bought it anyway and of course the tool didn't work. In the meantime, my wife was talking to Hideki. He was a good communicator and he agreed to come by. Sorry but it's a long but worthwhile review. I really don't like giving bad reviews since it can…read morereally affect a business. But I felt I needed to in this case. I called Anytime Handyman to come out and replace 2 damaged doors and install 2 new doors. I sent a text message to let Tyler letting him know my lock box number since it's a rental and no one will be there to let him in. I gave explicit instructions as to which doors needed to replaced. (it was obvious because of the visible damages). He sent me the estimate, I agreed and paid for the doors so he could order it. They went back to the rental, and installed the new doors as planned. Here's the prolblem, they took off the wrong door (not damaged) and put the new door on. Leaving the damaged door still damaged. That's not the end of it, the latch was not installed properly, it had a hole and crack. As for the other door that they installed, there was also a problem, the strike plate and latch were off centered and wasn't closing properly. I called Tyler to tell him the wrong door was removed and replaced, and sent him a snap shot of the text I sent him when he went out for the estimate, explaining which doors needed to be replaced. His answer was, that's not how he interpreted it. Everything seemed to be wrong with the job. From the wrong door being replaced, to the damages to the door and the other door's latch not closing properly. He said not to worry and it's normal it's not a problem, just let him do his job. Now I'm no handyman but I do know how to install a lockset, and I've never seen a hole of that size, nor did I ever see a strike plate and latch installed at an angle. In Tyler's defense, he did say if I'm not happy he would give me a new door. But at this point, my trust with their quality of work has diminished. Not even a new door would make me continue to do business with them. I will take that loss, and stop all remaining repairs with this company. Update: I read the business owner's responses to my review. First of all, the "so called Painter's" was my daughter and son in law who came over the weekend to help paint the doors, only to find the damaged doors and discrepancies on the other door as well, including the wrong door that was removed. I would have no reason to damage these doors that I had already paid in Full upon completion on Weds. Lastly, it speaks volumes when a business owner would illegally break a homeowner's right of privacy and send photos to anyone requesting it, without prior authorization. I stand by my review.

Security screen type doors are a different animal. I knew that my doorway would require some wood framing because of it's unusual size so who better to do this type of job than a handyman. I Yelped through handyman and came across Handyman Services. I was delighted that I saw Terry K.'s used him and was very impressed with Ryan's work. So I made the call to Handyman Services (Ryan/Owner) and explained what I wanted, an estimate on installation of two doors. To my amazement, he said that he would be in my area in the afternoon. Sure enough he came by and took the measurements and within a couple of hours texted me the estimate. Now that's the kind of service that everyone expects, but rarely receive from any type business. I won't say how much the estimate was for, but I found it reasonable and less than I anticipated the job to be. I scheduled the next open date which was the following week. Ryan came by as scheduled and quickly framed and installed two security screen doors with some modifications. He's quick and efficient, also takes pride in the quality of his work. Will definitely use him for projects that I can't do around the house.
