This was my first time calling Handler Appliance for repair work on our stainless steel 15" Kitchen Aid trash compactor (originally installed 2017). The receptionist was responsive and efficient on the phone. She was able book an appointment for the following day -- the first appointment at 8am. The trash compactor was not engaging. We could hear the motor trying to run but the ram wasn't coming down to compact the garbage. Moses arrived on time. He was courteous and professional. He carefully pulled the trash compactor out from under the cabinet, being careful not to scratch the hardwood floor. He removed the lid and examined the inside. It turns out that there were items blocking / jamming the ram from coming down -- and also that the door slide wasn't hitting the triggering button in a flush manner. He made the appropriate adjustments. Moses double-checked all other potential points of failure to make sure the compactor would be working after he left. He also asked if there was anything he could do for us while he was here. The only minor negative thing is that Handler charges a slightly higher dispatch fee for certain parts of Morristown than other parts of Morristown. That wasn't a deal-breaker for us, but it might be for some potential customers. They should change that. Even with the lower dispatch fee for other parts of Morristown, I suspect they may lose some potential customers because their dispatch fee is higher than their competitors. I will definitely call Handler again. read more

Handler Appliance came when I had an emergency -- and a potentially expensive one -- a sub zero 48" fridge that was not cooling... tons of food and getting warmer. They messaged immediately after my SOS on Thumbtack, and came early the next day. Before they came, they called and had me put my phone near the motor so they could hear the sound and make an initial diagnosis. "Don't worry," they told me "that's an expensive fridge and we will get it working again!" I felt instantly better and knew they were going to help me out and not tell me that I was going to have to get a new fridge. They came the next day, looked into the issue, ordered the parts and came back to do the repair. Both of the Handler brothers (there are two) worked in my house. Both were honest, nice, communicative and actually pretty funny -- kept me laughing despite being worried about my appliance situation. In the end, they gave me confidence that our fridge was going to be just fine. Just a fan replacement and we were good! They gave me a very fair price, and worked hard to make sure I was satisfied. Was able to pay via mobile Zelle pay, which made things convenient. HIGHLY recommend Handler Appliance. I'm a picky consumer about customer service; and I give them an A+. read more

For SubZero service, look nowhere else! My out-of-warranty Subzero wine cooler stopped cooling. I contacted several authorized Subzero repair services. Most of the big ones didn't bother replying. The small ones called back to tell me that they didn't service SubZero. One big service told me over the phone to throw out the unit since it would have to be brought to the shop and would cost at least $2000 to repair. I contacted Handler Appliance and Isaac promptly came to see me the following day. He properly diagnosed the problem (evaporator leak), assured me that my wine cooler was worth fixing and expertly repaired it. I really appreciated having constant contact with Isaac through his website. Isaac's service was exemplary in every manner, especially his daily follow-up for one week to make sure that my unit was operating properly. The cost was more than reasonable, the service was first-rate and Isaac's personal care and attention were priceless. It's everything I would hope to find in my own personal doctor as well as what I just found in Isaac, my appliance doctor. Our dishwasher was not filling with water. On a Thursday, we called the appliance repair company we usually use, but the soonest they could come was in a week. So we looked at Angie's List, saw that Handler Appliance got a lot of great reviews, and called them. They said they could come on Sunday - still 3 days away but better than a week. Isaac arrived within the specified time window and quickly determined a new water valve was needed. Unfortunately the part had to be ordered. Isaac pulled out his laptop, located a supplier that had the part, put in the order, and scheduled completion of the work for Friday but said the part might come in sooner. Imagine our surprise when, early on Tuesday morning, he called to say he had the part and that he could be over in 10 minutes to install it. By 10am the work was completed. Isaac was polite, courteous, professional, and offered to wear shoe covers to keep our floors clean. He also wore a mask. Handler Appliance will be our first choice for appliance repair in the future. read more

My washer decided to leak! I googled and YouTube how to fix it... Loosing hope I decided to google the best appliance repair in Wayne and I got "Handler Appliance". Ugh, but they close at 4! So I prepared myself they wouldn't be able to send someone and we would just have to wait til Saturday or Monday...But INSTEAD! Joselyn answered the phone so nicely and calm. So I groveled my story, I needed my washer fixed pretty quick and she said let me reach out to the technician and I'll call you back. Keeping my fingers crossed 20 minutes later Joselyn called back and said you are in luck he is close by and should be there within the hour. Pleasantly I received a recording that my technician Moses was on his way. Now I only prayed it wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. So after a very thorough diagnostic Moses found the leak. It was simple and small and so was the charge! He gave me some other tips to keep my washers long life. So let that be the worst of my problems and thanks for helping me make that be. read more

After having another appliance repair service (Mr. Appliance) come to my home to fix my Samsung refrigerator only to find out later that night that it wasn't fixed at all, I found Handler Appliance Repair and called the company and their repairman Sam came over, properly diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and once it came in he returned and installed it. My 5 year old Samsung refrigerator is working perfectly again! Handler Appliance is professional and courteous and Sam wore shoe covers without my even asking him to (which was appreciated since I have carpeting) when he came to do my repair. The team at Handler is very knowledgeable and provides excellent customer service. They came to my home several months ago and fixed our dryer and Viking microwave. Moses, co-owner and technician who serviced our appliances, thought there may be an additional issue and asked us to call if there were any other issues. A few months later the microwave stopped working again. Moses ordered the part and returned to do the repair. Moses completed the return visit at NO CHARGE including the necessary part! Scheduling was smooth. She listened in detail to the refrigerator issue I was facing and made an appointment for the next day. Isaac arrived on time, wearing a mask and wearing coverings over his boots. Isaac was friendly, professional, and efficient. He quickly diagnosed the issue, obtained the required part (without an offensive mark-up charged), and returned later in the afternoon to complete the work. He assured me that if everything wasn't working he's come back and make it right....not required though as his fix got everything working properly. Refrigerator was not cooling properly, this was a holiday Monday. Called Handler after reading reviews. Amalia took my information and said she would get back to me after speaking with the technician and they would try to come out today. Amalia was very personable and efficient. She called back to say the technician did fit us into his schedule for today. When Issac got to my house he assessed the problem and repaired the refrigerator quickly and explained exactly what was going on. He was prompt, competent, and professional . Will use Handler again. 5 star all the way! Second time we have used them for our refrigerator (2 separate issues) and both times solid service. Arrived for service call same day appointment was made. VERY knowledgable and easy to work with. My husband suggested he host Zoom classes to share his tidbits of useful info such as let dishwasher run 2-3 minutes before adding vinegar as the first cycle drains and vinegar goes straight down without being used! Price was very fair and he even gave me sample packets to use in my dishwasher-which wasn't even on the service call-my fridge was! We were shocked at how quickly Handler Appliance responded to our upright freezer repair. Very punctual and even called us when he was on his way. Outstanding service. Isaac is so knowledgeable, diagnosed the problem immediately and actually had a new replacement panel board on his truck! Within minutes of his diagnosis of the problem, our uprifreezer was working. Excellent service! I called for repairs on kitchen appliances, and was pleasantly surprised when they came the same day. They repaired a burner on the stove, replaced a control panel on our dishwasher, and replaced an ice maker on our refrigerator. They had to come back the next day with the ice maker, and came at 9 am. We had trouble getting repairs done during covid, however they said that they have been working during covid.
