Here's what I ordered:. Provided them with the tray for my take-out order: 1- Spicy Butterfish Roll on separate tray as it is spicy $8.50 On the second tray: 1 -. Scorpion Roll. $14.00 1 each California Roll Tuna Avocado Roll Salmon Roll. $16.00 I've attached a picture of the two trays received. The fish in these were paper thin. Very disappointed, despite of other reviews from others reviews of high praises. The food they served was barely enough to feed my 13 year old daughter. When I personally ordered this earlier in the day.... I asked if my order of 5 rolls was enough to feed 4 people with me also preparing pizza .... I was told it was more than enough. Although this picture shows there were a lot... That was because, I had requested them to cut them smaller for people to eat with braces on their teeth easier to chew them. Therefore, they were just about 1 cm thick/thin each. Because this was not enough to feed the family, I spent another $55.00 at another restaurant plus the pizza I had already made ... I would not recommend this place nor be a repeat customer.

My first time ever to Grand Bend and they have a Sushi bar! Woo-hoo! Be mindful that it's not AYCE,…read moreand the prices are on the higher side, but the entire experience and meal was wonderful nonetheless. Today, we were over at my boyfriend's sister's trailer in Pinehurst and decided we wanted to do a day trip to Grand Bend, since I have never been (shocking, I know!) and she had recommended this sushi bar, because it's the only one in Grand Bend and the menu looked good. It sits along the strip in a beautiful sized restaurant with indoor, outdoor and patio seating. We opted to go inside because we needed to get the sun off our backs for a bit as it had been a super hot and sunny day. It was around lunchtime, so we seated ourselves and right away was greeted by our waiter who handed us menus and got us some cold water. As previously mentioned, this isn't an All You Can Eat Sushi Bar, and this is the ONLY sushi bar in Grand Bend, so the prices for the rolls, appetizers, salads, etc, are a bit on the expensive side. I had my heart set on anything salmon, it's my favourite, so I ordered the salmon sashimi, philly roll, salmon roll and a seaweed salad. All our meals had promptly came out very quickly and the presentation was beautiful. The philly roll was smoked salmon and the actual salmon roll and salmon sashimi was fresh salmon. It tasted fresh, not fishy at all, and delicious. My boyfriend ordered the jalapeno popper wontons, seaweed salad, and an avocado roll, all of which were delicious. All in all, the food was delicious, the service was fast and friendly, the prices were more on the expensive side, being that Grand Bend is more of a touristy kind of beach town that attracts a lot of people. I would recommend this restaurant and I would come back here myself if I ever venture back to Grand Bend.

I've never dined in, even after they moved to their new location, and the owners have never seen me since I don't personally pick up the orders. However, I was accused--without any proof--of stealing a toy or item from them. The owners claimed they had served me and insisted it was me based solely on my accent and name. No explanation or argument over the phone changed their mind. I was told that unless there is another person in Grand Bend with the same name and a strong accent, it had to be me. Full stop. So, to all you wonderful contributors to our local economy who happen to have an accent--beware!

After graduating my girlfriend [now wife] and I would make it a point to try and eat at Matsu-Chan when in the area, even after our first kiddo, and eventually our second. Last year before one of our trips to the area my wife let me know that they were under new management and when I looked at the new menu, I was saddened that all of my favorite items were no longer present, and it seemed that my beloved little slice of Japan was now "just" a ramen shop. While my wife loves and can handle ramen and the broth, I would typically get the different rice bowls, or other entrees because while I love me some good ramen it doesn't work out well for me with the hour or so trip to the area. We'd get some rolls, takoyaki, and other appetizers to share around the table before digging into our main entrees. With the increased prices, and fewer options, I will end up going to any of the multitude of places [Aji-ten is usually our #2] to get my kick. I'll miss the little shop and the times I've had, like perusing the manga while waiting for a table. I wish the old owners the best, and the new management as well, especially if it was a familial transfer, but Matsu-Chan is not for me anymore. My wife will eventually get up there and let me know how it is, but for now, I'm just happy that a little bento shop opened near my workplace run by two first gen transplants, so I can at least get my fix without the drive.

Others following us added their names to the waitlist. The restaurant is small with just a handful of tables. One chef, it appears, prepared all the meals. I barely glanced at the menu; I already knew I was having the ramen. The only question was which one. My friend selected the eel bowl while I had the miso pork soup. The latter was served with sliced pork, bamboo shoots, fish cake, and seaweed. The broth was full of flavor; I enjoyed every slurp. I appreciated that the meal was sizeable and inexpensive - I was able to stretch it to two meals. We did not linger given the number of people waiting.

There are options for sitting at the hibachi table or in the dining room. We chose the hibachi and we're joining by five other new friends. The hibachi is entertaining for anyone that has never been there. It's a great way to celebrate a birthday or a special occasion, particularly for kids. There are options on the menu for sushi, appetizers, in addition to the hibachi specials. The hibachi specials are prepared right in front of you and you can choose from variety of proteins that includes chicken, beef, shrimp, scallops to name a few. All dishes come with rice and vegetables soup and a salad. Potions are very generous. This location does offer a full bar and our service were pretty attentive and we didn't wait too long for anything. The only exception was that I didn't feel the restaurant was exceptionally clean, which is probably due to the hibachi cooking grease. Floors were slippery, curtains separating dining room from bathrooms were in serious need of laundering. If you're looking for a meal where you can have a little fun and not too concerned about housekeeping, you can find a decent meal at this location.
