The roof on my house was installed by the previous owner and was installed in 2014. However, over the last two years on three separate occasions I have had shingles blow off the roof. This last time it happened, a bunch of shingles also formed a "steeple" shape. Hamstra has fixed my problem each time for very reasonable prices. They even came out fast enough to save the "steeple" shingles so I didn't have to buy more. They are honest professionals - I had them check my roof for leaks and they found no leaks. I could have easily been talked into a new roof by a less trusting company but after 30 minutes of thoroughly going over my roof and answering all my questions, Mark assured me that a new roof wasn't necessary and that a far cheaper solution would be fine. Called them after having difficulty finding a contractor to take care of the bathroom exhaust vents in my house. I just needed an extra vent in the roof, and the existing tubing to go to the roof. This was a house I just bought where the job had initially been done improperly. Someone was able to come to my house on Saturday, sent me an exact quote on Monday, got them the signed contract on Tuesday, and they had me scheduled for Wednesday. They were scheduled to begin work between 12 and 1. They called me in the morning and explained another job had gotten done sooner than expected, so they could be at my house earlier. That's great. Since it was a small job, they were finished quickly and done before the end of their original arrival window. Everyone involved seemed very professional and polite. They got everything done quickly as well. If I have something else in the scope of their work, then I'll give them a call. read more

You don't find a company with better integrity. Each and every person I have worked with has become personally invested in my house and the state of my roof. I have to agree, they are honest, straightforward and excellant. I needed repair on my cedar shake gazebo, and they totally underestimated the price for the job. The roofers ran short of material and had to stop the job. They also told me that the job was a lot more involved than they expected. The next day I got a call from Hamstra and was told the roofers would finish the job within a week. When I asked how much additional money the job would cost, he said nothing. It was Hamstra's responsibility, and they will stick with the quote. How refreshing!!! Furthermore, the quality of work was outstanding. They did not cut corners. read more

I called Hamstra on a Wednesday, to get an estimate on a small shingle repair job on my roof. I had a handyman give me an estimate, but felt that I also wanted to get a quote from a certified roofing company. Within a few hours, I received a call from my guy, who was heading to my house to look it over. I asked him at the time, to also quote me a price to remove the satellite dish from my roof, something that was never quoted with the handyman. He called me back about an hour later, and started mentioning everything that they would do to get my roof back in order. As he was talking, my heart sank, as I felt that this was going to be a very expensive job. When he quoted me a price, I had to ask him if he could repeat that number again. I was kind of in shock, his price was much better than what I have received from the handyman. I told him to put me on the schedule, he said they would probably get to me by Monday or Tuesday of the next week. The very next day, Thursday, they were at my house. The job was completed in a few hours, including the removal of the satellite dish, and looks fantastic. I was missing quite a few shingles around the chimney, now it looks perfect. They never asked for any money upfront, said they would bill me, and I just received the bill yesterday, three weeks after the job was finished. I would highly recommend them, and in fact, I have already told a few others about the service that I received, very professional. read more
