I don't like writing negative reviews, it bothers me, but my situation bothers me more.
After researching local optometrists, I decided to go with Hamptons Eye & Vision because they had many good reviews.
My eye exam was through and the doctor gets 5 stars. The one star is for customer service, the other optometrist who assisted in my purchase of 2 pairs of designer glasses at a cost of over $2,000. Both pairs of glasses fit incorrectly, one too tight, the other too loose. I went back 4 times for re-fitting and to no avail. The adjustment would stay in place for a day or two and I was back to pushing my eyeglasses up my nose to stay in place, or removing the sunglasses because they were uncomfortable. I was told the reason could be the humidity, etc, etc, always an excuse, and I went with whatever reason I was given. Seems the optometrist was always busy "multitasking" whenever I went in for an adjustment, or acted as if she was doing me a favor each time I went in for an adjustment. Well...it's winter, no humidity, and nothing has changed. It's annoying and embarrassing doing daily activities, or just speaking with someone and having to constantly push my glasses back on my face or having to remove my sunglasses because they hurt my head from being too tight. I feel, for the money spent, I should have glasses that fit properly and proper customer service!
I feel I was taken to the cleaners, and a VERY expensive lesson for me to learn. So much for using this "Local, Home Town" company. I've been wearing eyeglasses for years, and never have I had an issue.
No one from this office has ever followed up with me, only to send a reminder my eye exam was due. Why would I go back when they didn't correct my current eyeglass issues?
I've decided to explore other options for an optometrist that will work for me. My $2,000 eyeglasses will be donated. I am very disappointed with my experiences with Hamptons Eye & Vision. I was hoping they really were a "Home Town" service provider. Lesson learned. read more
