Toilets do not flush, wifi does not work, the tv shuts off and turns off randomly. The most frightening part of the stay was when we heard the remote fall behind the tv. Just wanted the money back for the additional night we planned to stay but couldn't because of the above stated. One star is being super generous. First time in many years that I stayed here…read more Since my last stay in 2010, Innkeeper is no longer a chain hotel and the Roxboro location is the only one remaining in business. The positives were that the room was clean, no noise, comfortable bed, wifi worked well, as did the HVAC. However there was a problem with the television. When I could not get the set to turn on with the remote, I called the front desk and was told that I had to turn it on via a button on the side of the set. While that did turn on the set, I was unable to get a channel to come on (getting a no signal message). Called the front desk again, and was told I had to hit another button to switch the tv to HDMI 1 or 2. That did turn on a station, but then I could not change channels at all. Third call to the front desk brought an employee to the room, who couldn't make the channels change either. She said she would try to get me another remote - and that was the last I heard from her. The next morning upon checkout, I mentioned the trouble with the tv and requested an adjustment to the bill, which they did with no argument. ($10 off) They also did it with no apology for the inability to watch tv or for the inconvenience. That leads me to assume that this must be a reoccurring problem. While waiting for them to do the adjustment to my bill, I noticed a "hotel rules" page that I guess is supposed to be read and signed by guests. It included lots of common sense things (you must wear clothes when outside your room) and other warnings about no guests and no parties. Seems like the Innkeeper caters to the non business, non family travelers now. Doubt that I will return.

When I visited, there was construction going on that left a marginal entrance road and a very small parking area. This was exacerbated when I found that this hotel was apparently being used as a meeting spot for a trucker and ambulance driver conference (not joking), leading to a number of oversized vehicles making it rather difficult to get in. Setting that aside, it was a fine experience in the room itself, with good temperature control, minimal noise, and average amenities. The breakfast was substantial, but not special.

Very spacious, modern decor, and clean. Bed was comfy. I loved the suite!! Casino is fairly small, but nice! They do check ID right before entering the casino. Beware, it's a smoking casino but it's pretty well ventilated. As expected, giant modern slot machines are everywhere, and mostly encircle the table games areas which are mostly in front of the restaurants. There is plenty of space to walk between games with people seated, even on a busy Saturday night while I was there. I don't have any interest at all in slots, but my friends do, and they highly enjoy playing the machines here. There seems to be bettings amounts available for any player, from the penny slotters to people with more money to burn. That's great. The smoke on the edges of these areas is not bad at all. I still find it amazing we somehow allow people to smoke ONLY in casinos. In the heart of a bunch of machines, you may find it more acrid. Thankfully, most have given way to vaping, and the casino is well ventilated. On to the table games. I have one big negative here. A minimum $25 per bet on craps ($5 for hard ways and other bets) is ridiculous, and is keeping people from participating. Maybe they lower these at off-peak times... but I love to play craps, and can't play the strategy I like for $100-$125 per shooter. No thanks. That is the main reason for the 3 star rating. You are going to make plenty of cash on craps, just lower the freaking minimums. $10 would be awesome, $15 acceptable. Have a high roller table somewhere if you want. Blackjack was more reasonable, with $15 per hand bets when I went. The dealers I "dealt" with (haha) were all great in their own way. Some helping players with strategy, others just being very professional in their roles. In all cases, games flowed freely, and we had a good time at the tables. No one smoked at any tables I could see, though it was allowed. I would simply move to another table if someone did. I don't really do roulette or some of the things like 3 card poker, but minimums there were also pretty acceptable. Craps was just way way off. CHANGE THIS. I didn't bet with the sports book or play in the WSOP room. I did join the players club, and pissed away my $10 bonus on a slot machine in 2 minutes. Overall, I left the casino a couple hundo richer following mostly proper Blackjack strategy, which is more than most can say I would imagine. Make craps more accessible, and you will see me more regularly. Don't... and you won't.

The centerpiece of the house's interior is a rotunda supported by four Corinthian columns and lit by a stained glass window located on the roof. Walking into the foyer you cant help but embrace the timeless grace, where every corner whispers of history and a bygone era. There is a quiet serenity to the space, as if time slows just a little bit inside. The modern touch added to the old renovated mansion does come with a bit of a sharp, sterile elegance of a modern mansion. The Parlor is a great place to enjoy a delicious craft cocktail and even better, ADULTS ONLY! There are also many other lovely seating arrangements throughout the property, including outdoors, and a few even come with fire pits. Everything is lovely and though it is all modern and sleek, it still feels fitting for the original era of the house. The cocktail area takes up most of the main floor, with a stand-up bar just off the entryway with a few tables and then a larger lounging area with sofas and chairs just beyond. The drinks are exceptionally good, and the spirits menu is creative. They also offer a few small plates. There is plenty of paved parking immediately next to the hotel for guests only, so that is not a hassle as it can be at some B&B/inn-type establishments. At check-in, you are offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to set the tone. The rooms are comfortable, but I will say that the entry-level ones are quite small (which is apparent on the website), but for the rates charged there isn't even a place to sit and read a book other than the bed. There's one small, delicate wicker chair that would be for tying shoes or whatever, but not lounging. The bed is luxuriously dressed, and there is drawer space and a minifridge, but no closet -- hanging items can go on hooks by the door out in the open. The bathroom is spacious enough, with a broad sink and elegant tilework. The lighting fixtures throughout are nifty. I found the breakfast sort of average for this type of place. I came later on, so perhaps there is more earlier, but there were a few pastries, some hard-boiled eggs, and fruit when I arrived. There's also a fancy coffee-drink contraption, but those aren't my thing so I left that alone. It's a very easy walk across the Boylan Bridge and down a couple of blocks to the area of the Dillon with several restaurants, and the performing arts center is not far beyond that. Location-wise, there's plenty that's walkable but also more an easy drive away.
