Hampton Inn Roxboro - Guest room

That's plus taxes. Family members got rates at Hampton & Hilton Springhill in Durham for $139 & $159, and in South Boston for $137 and $152. When we entered our room, and we have pics, the toilet had a gray streak around the water line and the mirror was smeared. The big surprise came Saturday night when we returned to our room, which had not been touched by housekeeping; the tiny trash cans were overflowing, vrhe beds were unmade, and used towels decorated the floor and tub where we'd left them in our hurried, early morning departure. No new towels were brought in. I had to go get some. Imagine my surprise when I went to the front desk, where upon my query, I was told that rooms are only cleaned every third day! Imagine that for $200 a night or any price. We were never informed about that and had never had that to happen all the years we stayed there. And even though we are Hilton Honors, there was a big notice taped to the front desk that said in bold, underlined type, "Absolutely no late checkouts! This hotel is certainly not up to Hampton Inn standards and you can forget Hilton. The staff that's there is pleasant and seem to be diligent, but they aren't the franchisee. Maybe the owners should consider turning it into an indigent housing facility. Because it's already on the way. We got a BS answer from the hotel on the hotel site that said sorry we experienced less than stellar service but offered no actual resolution, FYI. In other words, if you have a problem at Hampton Inn Roxboro, they will do nothing about it.

From check-in to the breakfast buffet to housekeeping, the few people that we ran into were fabulous. I'll try to remember everyone's name Bella, Della, Ms. Rebecca & Ms. Carolyn. The rooms were clean, breakfast area clean and the parking lot clean. The pool was clean too (although it was too cold & rainy to get in).

I became a Hampton Inn fan after staying at various Hampton Inn locations last month. For me, it's…read morethe breakfast that makes it a winner. Why, you ask? Well, for starters this place offers Chobani yogurt, Chobani smoothies and fresh juices! You can also make your own waffles, although I wasn't a fan of the banana bread or vanilla flavored batter. Plus they serve an egg dish, a side of meat and even French toast. Oatmeal and cereal is always an option. You can also enjoy coffee or tea at any part of the day. I am a fan of the Hilton brand, and our hotel stay was comfortable. If I can get a good night's rest and shower, that's a win. It can get crowded here, like it did when we were here on a Sunday. You can also tell the hotel got a makeover, but the hallways and elevators still show their age.

Some broken. Nice. Leaking walls, windows and ac unit. Not sure what is growing in the bathroom. Doesn't look to healthy. And last but not least, bedding. Hamptons were always known for great pillow, sheets and mattresses. Not here, the exact opposite. Cheap pillows, sheets like sandpaper, and cheap mattresses. Top it off, no coffee in the hotel. In my 40 years of business travel, I've never heard of such a thing. Ever. Anywhere. So now, tomorrow morning, when it's about 20° outside, I have to go drive to find coffee. I am in awe. Beyond bad. Had I known this ahead of time I would not have stayed here. Spare me with the construction excuse. I will drive the distance to another property next time. Yikes. This is almost a Motel 6 or a Knights Inn. I anticipated a weak, tepid apology. You did not disappoint.
