Most popular time is definitely before 10:30am. But even after that there are always pups there. I can't speak for the small dog park, though. We have never had a problem here all dogs have been very friendly as well as the humans :) The park is very large and has lots of room for your dog to wander and explore. There is a small trail that circles around the inside of the park. Two baby pools, plenty of running water, and tons of benches! The city does a great job of cleaning it and maintaining it

The folks who bring their dogs here are for the most part attentive and friendly, and both sides have a shelter with a picnic table or benches and chairs as well as benches along the fenceline. There are plenty of dispensers with good-sized, sturdy "mutt mitts" and trashcans dispersed around the fenceline for picking up after your dog. On weekends there's usually a well-attended 10am meetup on the small dog side. The medium-large side is huge with loads of room for unobstructed ball/frisbee throwing and a path that traverses around the inside of the fence. Parking is usually good except when there are soccer games on the fields at this end of Southern Community Park. We often park at the north end of the park and walk the easy quarter mile over to the dog park (there's a paved trail), and you may have to do this if there are soccer games going on. If there has been a lot of rain, the lower end of the medium-large side has an area that gets really muddy and should be avoided if you don't want your dog getting into the mud. We enjoy going here several times a week. It's an excellent place to get some good off-leash social time and exercise for your dog.

From what I understand, the APS of Orange County started this shelter but I'm not sure if it's still part of APS. It's become a place for animals transferred from nearby county shelters. If you're lucky, you'll have the grounds cat escort you from your car to the front door just to make sure you don't get lost or take a wrong turn. The day I was there it was relatively quiet and I had the opportunity to spend as much time as I wanted with the animals. Like most shelters, the cats are separated by age group and placed in three decent sized rooms with lots of toys and beds. Only one of the rooms was an interior room with no view outdoors. The cats get to free roam within their rooms. Paws4Ever has dogs, too, but I didn't go back into their area. The woman working allowed me to take my time but was very quick to answer any questions. In fact, since I was the only one there at the time, even the cats seemed to like the attention. Unfortunately, that made it even harder to leave them all behind. My only criticism would be the smell. The rooms were clean, I didn't see any litter boxes, but it smelled like litter boxes that needed to be cleaned. It's an okay shelter, seems relatively low-key, and that probably makes it a nice place to check out if you're in the area.

And saw there was no reviews, tips, or photos. So I drove to it, passing it a couple of times before I realized, it was a dog park, on the edge of the park, across from the cemetery. Creepy. I never been to a dog park before, so I didn't know what I was looking for. It was two separate fenced in fields, about an acre each. One field is for small and older dogs. The other side was for large dogs. That's great because my puppybutt has a Napoleon complex. There were benches, waste receptacles, and water fountains inside of each. You must register before entering the park. It didn't take long to do. You can let your dog off it's leash, if you choose. I did so because there wasn't any other dogs inside the one I went into. However, you must be within ear shot of your dog, in case you need to call out to them. Kind of like a child at a playground. You want to be mindful. Most of the rules are common sense, but again, be mindful that you're not the only one there. All dogs entering must wear a collar (non spiked or choke), show tags, and rabies tags. Must be leashes entering and exited. No females dogs that are in heat. A max of 2 dogs per person. No children under the age of 16 without adult accompanied. No food, drink, or glass containers, no smoking, no alcohol, and no food are allowed inside. No aggressive dogs. I've been here a few times and it's always been pretty peaceful. Twice there weren't other small dogs present. That's probably because I went during the week, while 1st shifters were still at work. If you have a dog and are looking for a bark park, this one is a pretty good one to visit. Haven't had a bad experience yet and my dog seems to love the space.

And then they built a bar, and then an ATV track, and then a club, and then adorable cabins, and then adorably clean showers for the cabins, and bought horses... This place is an outdoor lovin'-wake board learner's dream come true. You see, while I know I give off the air of a professional board sports person *sarcasm* - I've never once been on a wake board. But Andy and Kelly (the insanely nice owners who take beer talks seriously) had both me and Rob running down the full length of the private lake within 3 hours (might I also add they have the patience of 10 angels). Things to note: - If you're following Google maps, DON'T turn down the road it defaults to unless you want to say hey to Cole and help a guy mow his lawn. Go to the next left where you'll find a giant sign saying JIBTOPIA - that's where the park is. - Sunglasses aren't recommended and after greeting the water with my face at full-speed, I've got to agree. - I wore a bikini top and board shorts - I think I made the right choice. They provide the board, the helmets, and the life jackets - which you will very much need. BRING A TOWEL. - Do get lessons - these cats are insanely awesome teachers and made the whole experience top notch. They are really able to narrow down your issues and help with form. - Bring bug spray! Turns out my blood must taste like ripe mangoes or something - I'm covered in mosquito bites. - Bring shower gear (shampoos, towels, etc) and a dry change of clothes - they have really awesome showers and it's nice to towel off after that workout. - You can bring a camera, they have tables nearby to grab that award winning Nat-Geo shot and still keep your camera dry.
