**UPDATE - Resolution:** Following my original review, I spoke with the General Manager and also received an apologetic response from the owner. I ultimately received a **full refund for my stay**, and I appreciate that the hotel ultimately provided an appropriate resolution. During my conversation with the General Manager, it was mentioned several times that roaches can be "brought in." I understand that pests can enter a hotel in different ways; however, that explanation did not alleviate my concerns after encountering what appeared to be roaches in **two separate rooms**, particularly when combined with the cleanliness and maintenance concerns described in my original review. The owner also stated that the property is regularly serviced by Orkin, which I appreciate knowing. I cannot speak to how the pests entered the property, nor am I attempting to determine the source. I can only speak to what I personally observed, photographed, and reported during my August 3-5 stay. I appreciate the owner's apology and the full refund. I believe it is fair to acknowledge how the hotel ultimately resolved my complaint, while also leaving my original experience documented for future guests. read more

Stayed at the Hampton Inn in Havelock, NC, with my family on October 7, 2025. Our room was on the top floor, and smelled like mold and mildew. Extremely strong odor. The room was also dirty, other people's hair in the bathroom on the soap dispensers, There was a dehumidifier in the room which I thought was weird. There was also dehumidifiers in the hallway going. I had my kids, ages 6, 4 and 1 with me and I didn't want them getting sick so I went down to complain at the front desk. The lady offered me a different job room down the hall that didn't have the mildew smell. We switched rooms. We needed to use the pull out sofa bed and upon opening it up, we found a dead bug on the sheets along with food in and under the sofa. I took pictures and went back down to the front desk to request it be cleaned. The front lady handed me new sheets and handed me a broom. So I payed to clean my own as well as stay the night. We had intended to stay 2 nights but decided to stay the following night at the Holiday next door. I would not recommend staying here. read more

I've not stayed here, but pass by every time we go to our boat. Any hotel that has its own bomber is worthy of respect and definitely worth a visit! Not sure they take people for rides, but this A-6 is loaded with bombs. Don't sass the manager! read more

Hampton Inn Havelock - A-6 Navy Bomber - Hotels Near Me - Havelock, North Carolina

Stayed here for one night on a Tuesday when Tropical Storm Debby was passing through. The rain was unrelenting and the hotel was nearly empty (said the front desk agent). Unfortunately, my digital key didn't work so I had to stop at the desk. She moved me from the room I had selected via online check-in. That room was still dirty, she said. The room was fine. Pretty spacious, clean, and comfortable. Bathroom also was clean and spacious. Breakfast was the normal Hampton Inn breakfast. Good. This is a good property and, given the lack of options in the area, I'd stay again. read more

Great staff, it's what you can expect for what it is. Same layout as everything else you just get what you payed for.

We had excellent service here - they were able to fit us in the day before we needed to stay in the area. My only main issue is that there was some water damage in our 1st floor room, so it smelled musty. read more

Hotels really only have to hit a few solid notes to get a good score with me. 1) good shower, 2) decent bed, 3) parking lot that doesn't make me think my car will get broken into. This place hit those, but had a lot of weird quirks. No outlets close to the bed headboards. This meant I had to charge my phone on the other side of the room, which as an adult in 2019 means I had unending anxiety for several hours. WHAT IF SOMEBODY LIKED MY CAT PICTURES Free coffee 24/7 as long as you like room temperature coffee Coffee in the room! Just don't plug the pot in before you add water to it or else it'll explode like it did on me Sleepytime front desk lady I shouldn't complain; the bed was fine, the shower was ok, and the Marine base nearby ensures my belongings would be safe - who would rob a car with hundreds of strapping young US marines nearby! But the lack of outlets nearby, come on Good free breakfast read more

I'd love to give this hotel a higher rating, but the musty smell is the worst. I've stayed here before, in a different room, and didn't experience the overpowering musty mildewy odor that we had at our most recent visit. Otherwise, the staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are adequate and beds are quite comfortable. Maybe just avoid room 312? read more

Excellent service and location. Super close to both Cherry Point gates so the morning commute was an easy one, and they have breakfast beginning at 0600 and coffee all day, so that was a huge plus. Cleaning on request or every fifth day, and did a good job. Super friendly, helpful, and welcoming staff. The only complaint is that my room smelled like mold/mildew. Otherwise fantastic service and clean facilities. read more

Here's the breakdown: -Clean hotel overall. The supervisor actually checked in to see the work the cleaning person did in our room. -Has a small pool, exercise room, business center and elevators. -Complimentary breakfast 6-10 am. Hot foods changes daily but they always have oatmeal, cereal, fruits, pastries and waffles (you make yourself). They also have free cookies later in the day by the front desk. -Offer military discount. -Quiet and comfortable. -free wifi but the signal wasn't too strong on the 3rd floor. Yes, the rooms are dated and the room had a smell (not cigarettes but kinda musky? Maybe it's the carpets/AC idk but I have a sensitive nose). Everything was clean and it all worked perfectly. The doors don't slam shut so make sure you check! I found out the hard way but thankfully nothing was out of place. I called the room next door and told them about their door because I noticed it was slightly opened for a while. The staff was outstanding. I think it was Tom? (The young male front desk employee) went above and beyond to help my husband and I which we truly appreciate. Made our situation less stressful :) read more

Normally I love staying at Hampton Inns for their comfort and cleanliness. The non-smoking room we checked into had a dirty toilet bowl ring and a filthy dusty bath fan grill. The beds are comfy but the furniture is the oldest I've seen in any Hampton Inn I've stayed in. I'm not one to normally complain but I was pretty sure that management would want to know how I found the toilet to correct for future residents. As I expected, the assistant manager on duty as well as the lady behind the desk were shocked and apologetic. A gentleman I assumed was a maintenance engineer but not in any uniform was asked to go up to my room to clean the toilet and fan which I had taken pictures of on my phone and shown them. The assistant manager said that they always have a supervisor walk the rooms before they sell them and she will give me a different room. All I really wanted was the to correct those two issues and really just the toilet, but I said that's fine but we are going to dinner and we will move our luggage to the new room when we return. We didn't return until way past the shift change. The night desk clerk was instructed to give me keys to a clean room next door to our original room which still had a dirty bowl and of course a filthy fan filter in the bathroom. I guess the guy asked to clean our room was not on the same page as the assistant manager So we proceeded to move all our personal items to the replacement room but couldn't stay in it as it was a smoking room that had been recently occupied by a smoking guest if you get my meaning. For me, Hampton Inn had always offered a consistently high standard which I have happily relied upon until now. Fortunately the management kept trying and in the end discounted 100% the first night of my two night stay and made sure my room was clean. I would like to see them upgrade the furniture as well as provide uniforms or name tags for the staff. I kept seeing the same fella who I suspected was a maintenance engineer sitting in the lobby on his smart phone etc. The assistant manager was incredible but I think her property was not on par with perhaps newer Hampton Inns that I'm use to. Albeit more expensive. I want to give two stars but the response to my concern and comfort was genuine and very much appreciated. Also there is a great aviation visitors center just behind the hotel you don't want to pass on. read more

Hampton Inn Havelock - Toilet bowl - Hotels Near Me - Havelock, North Carolina

Stayed here during a last minute trip for a funeral. The staff was super nice. We had our 2 year old granddaughter with us and needed some milk on arrival around 9 pm. I was prepared to go back out to a local store but she said "No, I will take care of it." They were old in the lobby store so the clerk went into the breakfast area and got me a cup of milk. I was so grateful not to have to go back out, I was super tired. Then the next day around 11 am, I was ironing my black pants and couldn't find my lint brush. I went to the front desk to get one from the store. Unfortunately they had sold the last one the day before. The girl working the counter (a different girl from the night before), said, "Wait a minute, I think I have one in my bag." She did, and allowed me to use the last bit of her disposable lint roller. 2 separate ladies at 2 different times went above the call of duty to make sure I was a happy guest. I really appreciate these ladies and I'm sorry I didn't get their names but I stayed there on June 2-3 2021. Thank you BOTH for your assistance during my stay. read more

I disagree with the other reviewer. When I walked into my room it felt dated. The tv's are great but the other furnishings felt old although the lobby seemed updated. No cookies on Friday?! What a let down. Otherwise it seems clean. read more

Really? No one else has reviewed this hotel yet? This appears to be a newer Hampton Inn. It has the more modern look in the lobby, flat screen TVs, etc. The place was clean and well kept, which is the most important thing when I am sleeping in a hotel. The breakfast provided was standard Hampton Inn breakfast. If you have eaten at one, you essentially have eaten at them all. The bonus was my room had a fridge and microwave. If only all hotels would provide this, it would make business travel a lot easier. There isn't a whole lot to eat in the immediate vicinity unless you are a big Bojangles fan. There is a restaurant called Carolina Grill To Go located next door to the hotel and a tourist info center behind the hotel. The area is pretty quiet, though along a main highway, and completely safe. I drove about a half hour out to Morehead City/Beaufort area just to get some more interesting dinner options. I suggest you do the same unless fast food is your thing. read more

I want to like this hotel. It's clean, it's been updated...but it's a madhouse. It sounds like a WWE match is happening in the room next to me. A joined room, at that. But with about 9 people...both kids and adults....screaming equally as loud, banging on things, slamming the door, yelling in the hallway. And it's been going on for about 3 hours straight now. I have a white noise app on the iPad playing just to try to drown it out but it's not working. I guess if my kids wake up it will get even louder. Who puts 2 rooms side-by-side with kids? You always have those bada$$ kids and irresponsible parents. Also, the pool lights are beaming into my room but the curtains are sheer so I can't close them to block it out. It would've been nice to swim in the pool earlier but it's pretty small and was flooded with people playing their music, smoking and drinking beer from glass bottles. Not trying to visit the ER tonight for stitches in my feet from stepping on broken glass. But stay here if you want a free peep show of all the Marines practically making babies with their girlfriends in the pool. read more

During a recent visit to Havelock, where my husband was once stationed at Cherry Point, we made the unfortunate decision to stay at the Hampton Inn. The star rating and hotel descriptions are VERY misleading and we experienced staff dishonesty during our stay. To begin with, our "Queen Suite", which we were told had a bedroom, separate sitting room, and whirlpool tub, was nothing more than a long, narrow, cramped L-shaped room at the corner end of the non-smoking third floor. There was barely enough room to turn around in! It was shabby and run-down, only moderately clean. There was NO sitting area OR sofa--just a stained armchair crowded next to the bed and floor lamp. The room had a musty, closed-in scent, too, and the windows were fingerprint-covered and smeared. Poor lighting, very depressing. The one "luxury" was the ancient, rattling ice machine that kept us awake all night directly across the hall. The room's mini fridge was nasty and smelled of spoiled meat; the microwave was so filthy and disgusting I refused to use it. The bathroom was small and drab and clean-ish. The whirlpool tub was just a bathtub with a couple of jets and too dirty to use. I was very upset when I saw the yellowish-brown streaks on one of our washcloths. We were told when we reserved our room that there was an on-site laundry room; when we asked a hotel staff member where it was, she replied that the laundry room was out of order due to renovations; when we mentioned this to a different staff member, he said that the hotel has never offered laundry services. Very dishonest! The hotel lobby was clean, but shabby and dated. The hallways and elevator were clean, but the elevator made me slightly nervous, as it sometimes paused between floors, shifted, and the doors didn't always open and close properly. We were so unhappy with our stay that we checked out early and cancelled the remainder of our reservation. The room was WAY overpriced for what we received. I expected MUCH better from a Hampton Inn, and feel that we were misled and taken advantage of. I will include the following pros: the hotel was very quiet, the location is convenient to the area, and the beds were clean and comfy. Would I recommend this hotel? NO. We won't be returning, either. read more

We have used this hotel twice while visiting our son. They are accommodating. Updated rooms at a very fair price. Very close to cherry point. Would stay here again read more

The room we got was one of the newly remodeled rooms. I really like the new look. The room was very clean. The only complaint I would have is, my wife and I decided to take advantage of the complimentary coffee in the lobby. It was cold. Otherwise, it was a great stay! The complimentary breakfast in the morning was good. read more
